What about McKenzie @ Cheatham Co?
-
oh really???...wow I have obviously been reading the wrong posts then....lets just agree that we disagree...stating who you think will win is not bashing...telling someone how terrible they have been for the last ten years is...there is a difference.
-
We look forward to a rematch with our "buds" from h-town...but one game at a time thumb ...good luck this week although I don't think you'll need it and let's go on next week injury free!

when the TSSAA gets through with realignment this year the toughest region will be without a doubt what is left of regions 8aa, 7aa and 6aa...depending on how they are matched up this SUPER region could be a monster.

I don't know much about the offensive and defensive weapons for Lewis Co., but I will give my keys for Camden to win. You guys can also give your keys to victory for both teams.
1. Win the battle of the trenches. Middle TN football is a more smash-mouth type, therefore if we can control the lines, we can control the game, and make Lewis Co. throw the ball more. I'm not certain, but I don't think they are very successful at throwing the ball this year.
2. Use our speed. I know we have more team speed than them, so if we can get to the outside we will have much success. Also, I think we can go deep on them. Markham has one of the strongest arms I've seen, and I know our receivers are fast, so I think we should try and go over the top a few times.
3. Stay calm and focused. This being our first playoff game ever hosted, we will likely have lots of jitters and butterflies. We can't let our nerves and excitement get the best of us. Go out there, play hard, stay focused, and there's no reason we shouldn't leave the field with a large margin of victory.

Now back to this thread...I see Fairview rolling in this one..Adamsville has trouble with the run and Fairview should be able to exploit that weakness..Even though I'm rooting for an upset...Fairview 38 Adamsville 7

Yes it obviously does have something to do with this year...you guys have brought up how great Lewis co , Fairview and Harpeth are and have been for the last ten years and how terrible Camden's record has been against you...it hurts doesn't it when your losses are thrown back into YOUR face now doesn't it???Do you honestly think that Camden fans aren't aware of our terrible record??...do you think we weren't there when we had a lot of talent and poor coaching and we were the whipping boys of 6aa???...believe me I was there and so was everyone else so its time to lay all that in the PAST!!...and no, the Lewis co game from last year doesn't count just like the Fairview loss against Chester co doesn't count for squat this year...that's the whole point !! we should be discussing this year's team not any other years team...excuses are in the past...its about what happens with THESE TEAMS THIS YEAR and no other....winning tradition counts yes it certainly does...but what do you and Catfish think , that 5aa teams were great from the moment of inception and that the rest of us are just losers (besides huntigdon of course ) we all have to start somewhere and many of these 8 teams are building and starting their own winning tradition this year..(look at Harpeth...the mighty do fall dont they?)...so lets stop all the mud slinging and appreciate just how good BOTH of these regions are this year and what great matchups we are all PRIVILEDGED to be a part of for at least the next three weeks...our young men deserve better from us...they are the ones that deserve our respect for having the guts to get out on that field and play ball for us who are only SPECTATORS....enough said I hope.

Gerry Bertier,
volsandtitans1 and I are from McKenzie so if we win we'll be playing the winner of Huntingdon/Loretto---------my guess Huntingdon! That's why the 10 min. drive mentioned.
For some reason duckman, Camden fans have made the 5aa fans paranoid or something?? I watched film on Cheatham co last nite and I know ya'll can take em...they're not very fast off the ball and Lewis co is even slower!...BTW did you see the Jackson Sun is picking a 6aa sweep with the exception of Adamsville...at least someone believes in us!...Good luck this Friday I'll be watching Camden but listening to ya'll! thumb

I think catfish-hunter said it well. Win a playoff game and you guys can talk. From the talk on here, it would seem you guys have 5 gold balls in your tropphy case and have won your region the last 10 years. you say this is the present then why all the references to almost winning last year? i won't be shocked if lewis co. wins this one due to lack of focus on camden's part.
Don't worry Gerry about the player's focus...Coach Ward has that down on lock..
Allow me to say this again...I predict alot of posts about 10:30 friday nite!

Weather its a 9-1 record or a 5-5 for the season, it doesn't matter now. Lewis Co. came thru by the hairs on their chinny chin chin last year. Again what is done on the past is the past. Doesn't matter how many playoff games you have notched in your belt. There is a difference when you talk"smack" for being CONFIDENT than when you do for being a little SCARED. Yea, being near the top is new to us, but we are very proud of The Camden Lions. We will be cheering for and making alot of noise during every play. The Lions are here to stay! GO LIONS!

Win or lose it doesn't matter because Fairview will be ousting the winner of this game next week and that's a promise.
Why all the hating on Camden??...we're just a bunch of excited football fans just like anyone else...if I didn't know any better I would think you're worried about us little ol Lions with the losing post season record...In the immortal words of my buddy William..."me thinks he doeth protest too much."

Let me add one more vote for Coach Kevin Ward of Camden Central...with he and his fantastic assts. the fun is back in football for Camden...what an amazing turnaround for this team and the whole town...and did I mention he's agreat guy off the field as well! thumb

I got some helpful advice to the folks from Camden. WIN A PLAYOFF GAME, then you can talk all the smack that you want. A 9-1 regular season record is great and all, but if you don't win in the postseason then it really means nothing. Lewis County won more playoff games in last year's postseason alone, by beating Camden and McKenzie, than Camden has won in the school's history. According to Murphy Fair, who is the GURU of high school football here in Tennessee, Camden has won a total of ONE playoff game. That lone victory came in the first round of the 1996 playoffs. In 1996, the seniors on this Camden football team were still in the third or fourth grade and the underclassmen were as far back as the first grade. On the other hand, the seniors on this Lewis County team have but one motto and that is that they have BEEN THERE & DONE THAT!!! In closing I'll again say the following: WIN A PLAYOFF GAME. If you do this then you are eligible to get on here and talk as much smack as you desire.
I predict alot of posts around 10:30 pm Friday nite then!....go lions!

well, the match up between the Camden Lions and Lewis Co. won't be much of a match up Friday night. The Lions will correct any wrong doing from last year when they roll past the panthers.
....and yes the Lions will roll..and in a big way! thumb

Before anymore is said about Lewis co. and the playoffs last year I'd like everyone to remember how lopsided the calling was at Lewis Co. against the opposing teams. What was it in three games 100 penalties against the visitors and 3 against Lewis Co? Even in the Huntingdon game they tried to call back as many TD's as possible. There was also the matter of the band trying to drown out the teams plays. Maybe this year on the road you can observe how a host is supposed to act.
I agree...maybe we'll all be on our best behavior and have a great game at Wrights Field....only the first of many for many years to come! go lions!
-
After looking at film on Lewis co I think Lion's fans can expect a different game than last year but never underestimate a good team with a good coach in the post season...Huntingdon should roll over Loretto but Loretto does bring some size to make things interesting....Fairview should be able to handle Adamsville because although they may not have the speed 6aa and 7aa does they do play similar ball so they may be able to exploit the same weakness... but Adamsville is a tough little club who has given some of the more successful teams fits, so you never can tell???...and finally the best match-up of the 1st round, McKenzie and Cheatham co...this one should be a great game since each should be able to exploit the others weakness...could be a high scoring basketball type score (or at least it needs to be if Cheatham wants to keep up)...but I expect both teams to bring their A-games so you never know... could end up 6-7 with either winning...I of course will be pulling for 6aa teams but I wish 5aa good luck and a hopefully injury free 1st round for all!
-
If McKenzie brings their a -game and can stop the run they can win...that's a big if...Cheatham has some size on the line...the Rebels have their work cut out for em but if Hayes has a big game, 6aa comes home with the win...Good luck to both teams..should be a great game!
-
-
Should be a great game...wish I could see it but there will be so many good 1st round games in the west this year!...Good luck Milan...lets go for a 6aa and 7aa sweep in the 1st round! thumb
-
Lewis Co without a doubt with the guy in the deer stand blowing his fog horn...the BAD refs and the band playing through all of the opposing offenses' series...you start with a minus 14 points before you ever get on the field
-
Byron Boyd RB from Camden has some great moves but is overshadowed by a very talented older brother...if he played on another team he would be the star...Chris Donald from Huntingdon is another who is overshadowed by an older counterpart when he is actually probably the better of the 2.
-
Good luck to our neighbors Bruceton...I hope Willis has a big nite...maybe he'll go for 400 yds this time.
Who are some of the best h.s. assistants?

let me put a vote in for the Camden Central assts. who along with head coach Kevin Ward have turned around an under acheiving program to one who is locked in on building a winning tradition..Coaches Shawn McDowell, William Blow, Eric Knott, Chad Wyatt and Mark Rich are the greatest!
