  1. I'd have to say Brad Davis at LaVergne HS did a great job this year! He instilled in us a refuse to lose attitude and showed us how hard work would pay off. We haven't always been the best to believe in ourselves, but Coach Davis got a lot out of this team. We had one of the best years in school history and we owe it all to coach, as he worked us when we didn't want to work and always believed in us, even when we didn't. I really think he has to be considered for doing one of the best coaching jobs, as he has taken a team that won 6 matches two years ago, to a team that went to the sectionals this year and has had 68 wins in two years. Coach I know you will read this and I wanted to tell you that I miss volleyball and all the fun we have. I can't wait until next year!

Well said bb4me!!! I couldn't agree with you more. My daughter played for Coach D, at LHS, last year and I saw a tremendous improvement not only "in" her game but in her attitude, enthusiasm, desire, and love "for" the game. I only wish she had had the opportunity, and privilege, to play for Coach D for 4 years and not just 1. This year she continued playing volleyball at that "next level", thanks to the coaching and support of Coach Brad Davis.

"Thank you Coach Davis". You've got my vote hands down!!! :thumb: bg.

  2. Congrats to You and the Ladies, bd. Off to a good start. :thumb:

I'm plannin' on comin' to the Sept 06 match (Smyrna) & lookin' forward to it.

Headin' to Maryville this weekend to watch "the Kid" and the Lady Scots in a tournament. Wish 'em luck !!! See you next Tuesday. bg

  3. ...set... <_<

Hey "bd"...I've got your (LHS) schedule printed out and I'll be comin' to see y'all from time to time (when I'm not travelin' to watch Maryville, that is). bg.

  4. C'mon folks.......where's the love (for the sport of swimming) ??? <_<

I can't believe that there hasn't been any more support for a swimming forum than this !!! There are forums for basketball, football, baseball, softball, volleyball, and soccer. There are even forums for wrestling, tennis, golf, cross country, track & field, cheerleading, lacrosse, and even bowling.

Why not swimming ??? The athletes that are involved in the swimming programs work and train as hard, and harder, than the athletes in these other sports.

Don't they deserve a forum for their sport as well ??? Speak up folks.......let your voice be heard !!! thumb

  5. Band "is" very much a part of the high school (and college) sports scene. But I, personally, don't believe that band could be/should be considered a sport. I understand that those that have family members or friends that are in school bands might feel that band should be considered a sport but I've spoken to several folks that are or were members of school bands and have yet to have anyone tell me that they believe band should be considered a sport alongside football, basketball, baseball, etc.

That said...what about swimming ??? I posted a question on the CoachT comments and questions board concerning starting a forum on swimming. If anyone reading this feels that swimming is a sport that warrants consideration for a forum, please, look it up and post your comments in there so that maybe CoachT will see fit to starting a swimming forum. thumb

  6. We have some very good swimmers and swimming programs in our area.

Is anyone interested in seeing a forum started for swimming ???

If anyone is interested in seeing a forum started on swimming, please, respond and express your interest here and Coach T will set one up.

"If you come, he will build it." thumb
