"Don't take their players out"????????????? Alcoa yanked Warren, Lindsey, Sykes, Fiegler and Martin in the 3rd quarter against Fulton...and that game was on TV! You'd think they would have left them in to show out in that game if in any.

Why risk an injury when the game is over? And why run up the score?

Who looks good this year? They will be in high school soon.

Alcoa will get mauled by McCallie.

You have no clue what you are talking about. Alcoa played Maryville. Maryville beat Powell 47-19. Powell beat McCallie 27-24. So actually Alcoa has played a team of a much higher caliber than McCallie.

I think Alcoa's head coach didn't play college football.

William Blount. They will make it to the 3rd round of the playoffs.

The team that won state and beat Knox Central (Todd Helton) in the semifinals.

If WB had a passing game I would give them a fighting chance. But they don't.

Facts: Alcoa dominated Sevier County in the Jamboree. Maryville dominated Alcoa in week one. WBHS gave up 25 unanswered points to Sevier County and lost. Use that info as you wish.

 

Opinions: WBHS has improved and beat a good Ooltewah team. Maryville beat a very good Alcoa team and a very good Powell team. Meadows has 1 gold ball and Quarles has 4 gold balls. The team with the most balls will win this week. Maryville by 10 in a good game.

Who will start @ QB for Maryville? Hunt is injured? Please, no platooning the QB's. Not at MARYVILLE.

What teams are really looking good? What has happened so far this season?

WB will keep it close in the 1st half. After that Maryville's depth and discipline will pay big dividends. Maryville by 10 points.

Fulton facts:

Poor fundamentals.

Poor special teams.

Key injuries.

Has yet to live up to the hype.

 

 

Alcoa facts:

2-1

Have soundly beaten two very weak teams.

Was dominated by an inexpereinced Maryville team.

Has yet to live up to the hype.

 

Game facts:

Game has no playoff implications.

Game means very little now that these two highly hyped teams have showed that it was truly just hype.

 

Prediction: Whoever scores first wins because the other team will lay down.

McCallie will win with ease. Powell will be lucky to go 6-4 this year.

Heritage is about to start playing some real teams. Farragut by three TDs.

Tennessee lost to Bama and Florida all those years because Bama and Florida had better coaches and players--mainly better coaches. Same with Maryville and Alcoa now.

He schooled Punky with a rebuilding team.  Heritage beat alcoa that year.  Dalton beat Maryville 5 YEARS straight; you can't deny that

Dalton's teams won five in a row because he had better teams than MHS. MHS has won 11 of the past 12 because they have had better teams. Notice I used the word TEAM. Nothing mental in either situation. It all comes down to execution.

Heritage has beaten two weak teams. Heritage is about to face a team that hung in there with Knox Central. Farragut by 21 points.

When Maryville steps up and plays the Big Boys (Riverdale, Oak Ridge,etc) they might get some respect. Until then they will just be another mediocre team that is over rated. Step up and play somebodyand see where you stand Rebs and quit hiding behind a panzy schedule.

Alcoa will win by as much as they want. Nobody in 2A can touch them. Alcoa will end up 13-2 and 2A state champs. McCallie game will be the other loss for Alcoa.

It was a good game. GQ made the AHS defensive coordinator(Nix?) look like a a poker player with scared money. I hope Reid can get them back on track. Good luck to MHS and AHS.

Maryville has a great team. Alcoa has a great team. A 4A great team almost always beats a great 2A team. Good luck to Alcoa and their tough schedule. I wish you were still playing Heritage and William Blount. Hope Alcoa goes 14-1 but I will be shocked because McCallie will be better than Maryville. 13-2 for a 2A school is pretty darn good...especially when you look at the schedule.
