We are very excited that you and your team are interested in competing in the 2007 “Call of the Wild” Duals Wrestling Tournament. We are expecting a great tournament again this year. We have 2 spaces available.

Weigh-ins: Saturday 8th 8:30am (weigh-in by teams. first come first serve)

 

Wrestling will begin at 10:00am and will run continuous until the tournament is over.

 

Seeding will be based on past performance, performance of your team this season and the judgment of the tournament directors.

 

• Every team will wrestle 5 duals.

• We will give plaques to the top 4 teams.

• Entry fee: $125.00 per team. Make check payable to Cordova Wrestling.

• Admission: $7.00 per adult, $6.00 per student, $5.00 per child.

• Concession stand will be open all day.

• Hospitality room for coaches and workers.

• T-shirts will be on sale.

He went to Franklin to do a weight test? Did all the testers in West TN quit?

That stinks. Is there any other options to do a weight test than to drive all the way to Franklin?

 

No, all the testers have not quit.

 

Tripp and Marty were with Houston and CBHS at the Father Ryan Tournament, and we needed to get bridgeforth tested. We were in Nashville to wrestle in the Ravenwood Tournament so we had him tested up there. End of story!

When did Bridgeforth certify?

Bridgeforth certified in Franklin last week.

I think Bridgeforth had problems certifying but as a returning region champ believe that he will be a force to be reconded with at state this year.

 

Cordova is looking pretty good this year and congrats to them. Ithink they have a great chance of winning region this year. But you cant expect nothing less when you have a coach like Doty......

We have a great coaching staff here at cordova:

 

Brian has done a great job filling Thirys shoes. He demands alot out of the team on and off the mat. The practices are hard and the wrestlers are learning alot of new technique. Shaun Swayne has been doing a good job with are younger wrestlers and Steven Sheppard has been putting the upper weights threw heck.

Where has Bridgeforth been all year?

 

Bridgeforth started the season at 320. He has been working really hard to lose the extra weight.

 

He wrestled really good in his first tournament back. 5-1 in Nashville. His only lost was in overtime to the tournament champion.

Congrats to all the wrestlers and coaches!!

We will take this weekend off and get ready for Soddy Daisy on Jan 19th-20th.

This was one of the worst calls I've seen. Reynolds had been cleared by the refs at weigh ins. In fact he still had the x's on his hands. Reynolds had :38 of injury time in the second period. Then in the third the ref stopped the match for blood time (Dowell). The refs checked Reynolds nails after they saw a scratch on Dowels chest.

The ref told us that Reynold had to cut his nail. After cutting his nails Reynolds returned to the mat were the ref told him he was :16 over his injury time. Match over!!!

Emmaunuel Bernal and Wes Dutton are no longer wrestling for Germantown. Brett Rogers is no longer wrestling for Collierville. I think that Mang is off the team at Bradley, Mang is hearsay.

well it looks like the life guard at the wave pool has another great crop of kids. Hopefully they can make some noise against the other part of the state. This tournament seemed a little more spread out, was it because of the teams/ wrestlers that didnt show up to G-town, or was it shifts in weight classes?

 

I think all of the teams involved, brought their full squad. (except for G-town)

We also added CBHS (52 guys) and Frayser (14) to the mix. 326 Wrestlers Total.
