  1. Its time to clean house at THS. This program has been spiraling downward at an alarming rate. They do have some talent but dont have a clue how to use it. I saw all i needed see first game under Mays..watched his team blow a 21 point first half lead lead. in 5min.against south...didn't have a clue what to do.I did give him benefit of the doubt..and gave him time...time is up...lost control of the team last year and agian this year ..no team discipline...no fire and no execution ..no excuse.Im sure he is under fire..if not he should be.

  2. This is a game that we should win even with the injuries to several of our starters. Halls has lost against every team that has had a half decent defense. I have to say that if the Vikings don't bring any more energy and determination than they have shown in the last two games they will inevitably go down as the only Viking team in 20+ years to finish with a losing record. That's not my opinion... that's a fact.

True that..what was it? "93" last time we had a losing record...But I still think he's lost this team .. but I hope i'm wrong and they show up to play.

  3. Not sure if Halls Has It anymore, but I do recall the last time TN High rolled down to the area. A poster thought they would just roll up in there and have their way. Didn't work out real well for him.

Every Team's got at least one poster like that...who doesn't  know his ankle from his elbow about the sport.

  4. Jealousy? Far from it -

Does the truth of you avoiding top teams ever get old ?

Sure walk thru the cupcake schedule like always , make your excuses why you won't play an MBA or out of state powerhouse

Yup your right I'm jealous because of your team being a coward and I can't see how Tn teams match up versus a KY or OH team

Let alone in state private school .....

And how many state championship's come out of the knoxville area...WOW!!!  just WoW!!  :roflol:

  5. 1st playoff game since 2007 for Halls. Last time these 2 played in the playoffs was 1995 and Halls lost 23-12. This is the only time they have ever played. Other then that, I don't know. I've heard and can confirm later that this game will be on tv. That also means it will stream on the internet.

Can't wait for Friday. RED DEVILS TEAM2015

Yes ..I remember the" 95" matchup very well..very defencive battle! I think it was like 16-12 with about 5 min. or so left. When my son broke one for about 75- 80 yards I think it was(my memory ain't what it used to be)  to put it on ice. But very intense game all the way to the end. I Remember Hall's being a very class act though.I hope this one is just as good.

The  one thing really stuck in my mind from that night that was after the game when we were down on the field there RB came up to us and told my son through the tears of disappointment and heartbreak as your last game as a senior brings was "heck of a run 25!!...NOW GO DOWN THERE AND BEAT THOSE GUYS!!!(Cleveland in there heyday)But of coarse we lost.

But i've always  remembered that kid.. he was the coaches son that was there at that time i think .

  6. "Performance is only a reflection of preparation (at this level), and preparation is a reflection of leadership". So you're saying you don't agree with that statement? The coaching staff is not only responsible for the play calling, but also physically and mentally preparing the players for competition at ANY level. IMO coach Mays would be totally responsible for this loss to Crockett for the very reason that you stated you think we lose.  If "the players just walked in expecting to beat Crockett" then there wasn't enough urgency stressed to them during the week of practice by the coaching staff.  Xs and Os are the easy(er) part of coaching. Preparation is what separates a program like Maryville form EVERYBODY ELSE.

With your point of view.... I'm curious as to if you think that starting #16 would improve the performance of this team, or if you think it even matters?

    Exactly B)

  7. OK first off no one said he was a "BAD" coach i think the term was inexperienced as an experienced head coach would delt with this daddy Moneybags and QB situation 6 games ago and not let it drag out and effect the whole team and would have had the team prepared for crockett as well. So i guess for the time being these kids have to suffer through his inexperience as a head coach and hope he learns fast. But not gonna hold my breath

  8. SMH  .... I have to say that for me... this is by far the most embarrassing loss the Vikings have suffered in my 11 years of closely following this program!!! This is followed closely by the 7 to 56 BLOWOUT to Greenville in 2010 (which would have been MUCH worse had they not called the DAWG off in the early stages of the 3rd QT), and the VERY disappointing loss to Boone in the first round of the Playoffs in 2009 (aka Our Year). It's obvious that the coaching staff as well as the Viking players took this Pioneer team lightly and suffered a beat down as a result. I hear some on here trying to blame tonight's dog stomp on the players performance. But performance is only a reflection of preparation (at this level), and preparation is a reflection of leadership (or lack there of)!!!!!!! If this was at a higher level than high school football this coaching staff would be escorted to the door solely on tonight's performance of this team!! This team is not lacking of athletes, size, speed, ability, depth......... but we are struggling to stay 500 with a schedule with virtually 3 and one half teams on it (if we're being honest). Why is that???! I have always felt like this O cordinator was only as good as his best player year after year, but I now have to question the person that allows him to make these decisions that he makes (15 before 16).?? I could go on and on.... but now that they have unleashed the YOUNG dragon, we are all left shaking our heads and wondering..... what do they have on this guy to make him play 15 over 16........ !!!!!!!!!! I just dropped the mic... :roflolk:

Preach on brother!! ...Preach it !! :thumb:

I wish i could find some of my old posts from a couple years ago..but I did a search and nothing  at all turned up...oh well !! Ahhh! just saved you guys the old" I TOLD YOU SO" As some of you will remember that have been here awhile(04,CAP) I was totally against this hire from day one...nothing personal towards him for he is a fine man as most of you know...just not qualified to be a head coach at this level and i do believe this is his 1st head coaching job anywhere period that i am aware of. And someone correct me if i am wrong.

1a-2a or maybe 3a  is where you start not at 5a-6a tradition rich program that has a winning history.

That's just to much ask for any  inexperienced head coaching candidate. So not really his fault for I,m sure he's doing the best he knows how. But these kids have to suffer through his on the job training which is brutal to say the least. So no i don't blame him i blame the one's that put him in this position in the first place..they knew better but stayed with the buddy-buddy system.

I guess as long as your well liked by everyone wins don't matter at least that's the way it seems at present. i will say i played for 4 different head coaches in my life. All of them were not liked all of the time, but there is not one that i did not respect ALL of the time.

I know..I know he took us to round two of the play-offs last year...first He didn't take us anywhere..the three headed monster in the back field took us to round two. so put that to rest right now.And yes he is an outstanding defencive coach. But not head coach. He may be in the future but not right now.

But if he's gonna try to do this he needs to grow a pair and tell Bobby Sunshine's daddy to stay the ---- out of team business and do what he thinks is right whether it is or not and own it. Not what daddy moneybags thinks. There are 50-60 kids that your decision affects not just one. Just give your team there best opportunity to win at all times Flame suit on....slams the mic down!!!

  9. Maybe one day the coaches will wake up and play the best athletes instead of worrying about parents with money complaining to superintendent of schools (and yes I know for an absolute fact it's been done twice this year against a sophomore saying he shouldn't play just bc he is a sophomore which is the dumbest thing I've EVER heard). I don't care if it's a freshman whoever gets the job done should be out there. The defense is playing terrible tonight and of course they actually watched game film and figured out the one play we run to shuff up the middle. So it's just going to continue to get worse I'm afraid. And another year of dealing with this QB may just keep people from even coming. THS has NEVER been beat by Crockett. I'm embarrassed for them.

I know and I agree ...I saw this coming 3 years ago. Kids are not stupid..they know more than we give them credit for they know who should be playing and they know when coaching decisions get them beat.

  10. Vikings have solid game and Crockett gets a healthy dose of #22. Vikings had nice surprise in #21 last week. Don't know final numbers but believe he out rushed #22. Maybe this will be the key to opening up the offense. How good would it look to spread it out and have 22, 5, 21, and 16 on the field at one time.

    Vikes 31 pioneers 14

Would be awesome to have them on the field all the time, but it 's not gonna happen. i remember a coach a few short years ago who had ALL his playmakers on the field at one time...As I remember that worked out pretty well. with that said we will be up against. 11 men in the box all night...AGIAN!!  But we will eventually wear them down..I'll say the game will be closer than it should be though.
