i hope you guys stampede the rebels. In my last 3 attended SG games, 2 of them i have had unbeleivable experiences with SG fans..and this year, SG staff...amazing how rediculous some "adults" can get over HS athletics.....GO BUFFS in this one.....35-0

Haha that truely was one of the most frustrating games on any level Ive witnessed. TN vs NC probably takes number one of course. At least you were part of the foundation that made WG become relevant. Wasnt that the same year we almost beat CG who had that beast QB? Pretty sure you guys lost by one point or two. Bull missed the go ahead field ago.

Rumor has it Sg is gonna play its alumni team against Greeneville.. uh oh. Devil starters would get lots of playing time that way ... if they could hang lol

A team is only as good as its lineman . Shuffler and lightfoot are quick and good athletes . If they can get a block or two along the way they will score some points . The rebels are really young and inexperienced , its gonna take time and snaps to get better . Just keep working rebs

Pain I think cd will control the line of scrimmage and Malone will find the holes .

They are young and lost pretty much everybody . The entire o line , the backfield , and both receivers . Defensively pretty much the same , everybody graduated except for Waddell at safety some of the year . This is the rebuilding year everyone was predicting last year and that prediction was made by people who just read the Saturday morning paper

Now that its time for the new school year and I'm sure most that are going to play at the next level have had time to make the commitments who are some of the brac players and where they playing college ball at ? I hadn't really heard of many but the few I have heard are ..

I'll say this: GCSports has never given inaccurate info even if it wasn't popular or believed. That's why I always ask him directly for SG info. Thanks for your input!

 

What names in what roles will we see for the Rebs this year? How are numbers going into the season?

backfield gone, line gone, secondary gone. Got some speed . That just about sums it up .

I ... don't need a translation but you must . I was referring to you saying its odd a single a player can make the coaches overall list but doesn't make the sports writers list when its broken into classification . Bailey from North Greene made the coaches list but didn't make the single a sports writers poll . Just seems odd ... don't it ?

I told everyone last year the rebels were not in a rebuilding year and would be better than expected . Had the athletes they just shuffled em around and they surprised a lot of people . ( folks who didn't know more than what the paper told them on Saturday mornings ) . This is the rebuilding year everyone was predicting last year

Much better than the TBCA grouping. Don't have a dog in the hunt, seems like the sportswriters may see more than the coaches do. Interesting how an A player could make the coaches, yet not even be named when it's broke into classes... and vice-a-versa... makes you wonder??

Coaches' Picks: The Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association (TBCA) selected a combined 13 players from the PrepXtra coverage area to its all-state teams. The TBCA released a first team and second team, which were all-inclusive for the state's classifications.

 

Area players making first team were Wil Crowe (Pigeon Forge), Andrew Lee (Morristown West), Colton Bales (Jefferson County), Jake Johnson (Sequoyah), Trey York (Bearden), A.J. Simcox (Farragut), Colby Skeen (Powell) and Ben Whisler (Seymour).

 

PrepXtra players making second-team all state were Grant Painter (Halls), Ronnie Broyles (Bearden), Isaac Allen (Rockwood), Nick Senzel (Farragut) and Jake Farr (Jefferson County).

the best player from last year was Dalton Boles by far, he is probably the best running back ever to come out of East Tennessee probably even the whole state

I don't know about all that . I would say a good description of Dalton is he was a nifty little back with good speed , smart and makes good cuts and sees the holes well . He would fit nicely into most programs in 3a or 4a being the feature back in some and not the feature back in others . but hey he had a great career , signed a nice scholarship and it was fun watching him . Congratulations

I really thought Malone was the better RB for CD last year. He should be hard to handle this year, IF the Black Knights have any kind of passing game to keep defenses honest.

 

I'm hearing rumblings about how big and strong North Greene is right now. Not sure what that means exactly but I was told their conference better get ready to be "ran over." Can anyone confirm or elaborate?

 

Out of the same rumor mill... Supposedly West Greene has a stud speedster SO running back that'll be heavily featured this year. Faster than Boles, so they say. Does anyone know his name or how true this is?

 

Over the past couple of years, South Greene has chatted a ton during the off season. Should I take the 'silence' as a tough road ahead for the Rebs? I know their best WR is playing for the Huskies now, but there must be some weapons waiting to take over-- there always seems to be for them. Any names to look for? Season prediction?

 

Greeneville will be dominant. They will have an epic showdown with Signal Mountain in the playoffs. They have enough topics devoted to them (no disrespect).
