Everyone knows that THS has a stronger team than DB this year, but man it gets as old and even more irrelevant than talking about the past. It's not about bowing down to a team, you line up and play anyone with the mindset that you have a shot, but it is just disrespectful to continue kicking them in the mouth after the loss. The Vikings beat DB, that's great, but the Vikings won't play DB again until 2010. They have Seymour to worry about this week.

Isn't DB the ones that say Loved, hated, but never ignored? I think Cap is stating that he is NOT IGNORING the fact that TN High beat the indians and it could have been much worse. I'm sure they would let him know about it if it was the other way around. Each year is different though, unless it's South-DB. 8-) At least I can joke about it, it's high school football.

Cap, I do have a question for you. All I've ever heard you say was how TN High had dominated South up until the past 4 years. I was listening to the South broadcast Friday night and they happen to tell the overall series record and it is now Tn High -16, South - 14. Where is this dominance you speak of? :thumb:

  2. Well last time you called me out HTV the thread got locked so I dont get into conversatios with you anymore...but with you being so outgoing and talkative I just cant resist...I have no Idea about the South game and do know that the Powell coaches wanted to play Mo. West cause they felt better about the matchup and not good about the South matchup...So that is something I do know that is not talking trash or smack...for the record on the rumor front about Central turning in Powell not true at all and Central dont care...we dont point the finger, that would be Halls...and HTV grow up...Powell had one player that night that was on fire and Central didnt so Powell whipped us again but had a little more class this time around, but I guess you were at the game...and I wish I would have ran into you and maybe I will see you at the South game and I was going to pull for Powell, but now that you have started your whining and talking again...I hope Powell gets slaughtered!!! Go South Rebels and send Powell and HTV back with their tail tucked between their legs...so HTV talk to you real soon!

HTV, for the record, the people that ARE talking smack about this game aren't part of the South Rebel Nation.

I understand that. Thecatcall09 is a Knoxville Central fan. He has a history of accusing Powell of being classless simply because Powell put 50 on his team in 2008 and he all but guaranteed a Central win over Powell back a few weeks ago, and we all know how that came out. It's just a case of really sour grapes with him and I was calling him, and him alone, out.

You seem to not have any class so please don't come to the South side. Thanks. :thumb:

  3. As far as the quadrants, it all comes down to David Crockett for quadrant 1. If Crockett gets a wild card, quadrant 1 will have:

    Tennessee High

    Sullivan South

    Daniel Boone

    Morristown East

    Morristown West

    Seymour

    Powell

    David Crockett

If Crockett doesn't get the wild card, somebody else from down that way will be in quadrant 1.

  4. Tennessee High Hasn't won the conference since 04. We had in it in 05 until the costly exchange between Booher and Bell to fumble on our own 20. 06 we were coming off the DB game while South had a bye and they surprised wit the wing T but Still almost had it. 07 started off strong but too much Curt late in the game. 08 was never really a contest. I know I know if ifs and but were candy and nuts wed all have a Merry Christmas.

Emotions will be running at an all time high for both teams thats for sure. I hate South has the injuries they do but that is football.

Im looking for Tenn High to get the lead early, play too conservative and let South take the lead back in the 2nd Half. Tenn High will have a real late scoring drive to win the game finished off by a Tallman TD. Book it!! Thats what will happen.

    THS-34 South-28

If all of that happens, I will add to your prediction and say that Cap passes out from how close the score is since he believes this is going to be 2004 all over again. :roflol:

  5. If you look at the map, lawrence co. is southwest, henry co. is northwest, and columbia is north of lawrence co and further east. It only make sense for henry co. to go west. henry co. shouldn't even be in 5a! move up to your class and you will be in the middle tn bracket.

Well, if you want to go by strictly an "east-west" logic then you have to leave Lawrence out of quad 4 altogether and put in Clarksville NW... they are further west! But, again, travel distance is "supposed" to one of decision makers, "without regard to region alignments"...whatever that means, since there are no "regions" anymore.

Oh... and your wish for HC to move up in class? I don't think it would make much difference. We've already pummelled one 6A team this past week and should do the same tomorrow night (both from the middle TN area) - what's your point?

Henry Co. isn't going to win the state this year anyway. I don't see anybody beating Tennessee High.

  6. I had a couple more issues. Are you going to block off the area behind the visitors stands and make the Viking fans PAY to park in the field at the bottom of the hill on the visitors side the way you did during the DB game? Tacky…. very tacky! dry.gif And you have to know greed brings bad karma. The other thing is… I bought one of those grilled hamburgers form the home side at the DB game…. absolutely delicious!!! :roflolk: You think they could make up a bunch and sell them on the visitors side? :D

Cap, unless something has changed South didn't make money on the parking in the field. It is owned by the people that run the driving range down at the redlight. I'm not sure why they blocked off the visitor parking but it won't hurt you to park near the baseball field and walk. You're a former athlete. B) You can even buy a hamburger on your way over to your seat.

Speaking of paying to park, where can you park for free at TN High anymore? I love the signs "free parking, donations accepted" :roflol:

  7. Tnreb, Cap is like stray cat. Feed him and he'll keep coming back. :roflol:

True, true. :roflol: And up to this point I’ve managed to ALWAYS land on my feet.

What’s your take on Friday night in the Valley RebYel? I already know the answer to this but just thought I’d ask… what’s the status of your injured QB? Will he return?

I think I said it earlier. I think this game will decide homefield advantage when we meet again in the playoffs. I actually went to the TN High-Boone game since I was sick and it was closer to home. How many seniors do you all have anyway? I doubt the outcome would have been different but Boone made way too many mistakes. Of course you have to take a chance with TN high because you can't guard everything. They opted to sellout when it came to the run and didn't have the guys in the secondary to cover all the options. Not sure if South has that either but we'll see. I believe somebody mentioned it earlier about TN High giving the big cushion and they certainly do that. For South to win this game, they must be aggressive. They must throw on 1st down at least half the time. Don't be predictable. Slow down the Viking defensive front with some screens. If St. Clair is back, that give us another WR option in Haden so that would be big. Our defense needs to play like it's week 0 again. Tackling will be key on both sides as there will be alot of one on one matchups in the open field. If we come out flat, it's DB all over again. If we come out and want this game badly enough, it should be a great game. Either way, just hope there are no injuries and we'll see each other again in a few weeks.

  8. I'm sure your right - there is not a single player at South that could start at TN High. I guess somebody better tell the boys at South the jamboree was just a dream and they shouldn't even show up as they have no chance!

Oh yea… they should show up. Because after Friday night maybe… just maybe… South will finally learn the difference between a jamboree and GAME TIME!!! All the talk about the jamboree is laughable. I guess to those that believe that jamborees are some kind of measuring stick... Stubbs is looking like the Coach of the Year, while Carter now looks like a failure for not blowing everybody out. :?: When in all reality…. one coach knows how to work the crowd, and the other just hasn’t figured that one out yet. I think I might have mentioned something to that effect at the beginning of the season after Carters “show of force” in the jamboree. :roflol:

Tnreb, Cap is like stray cat. Feed him and he'll keep coming back. :roflol:

  9. I had to miss the last away playoff game,so I hope to be able to make this one if we travel.I've not met a fan yet that is not happy to be in the first round this year. The record means squat when you get to this point. The time is now and this 2009 team.I just hope we give 100% and do the best we can.A playoff win would be fantastic and that's what we want.Roll Tribe Roll

If there's one team in the state that knows records and rankings don't mean squat once you get to the playoffs, it's DB. :roflol: I'm sure I'll get some nice responses but I had to do it. Sorry guys.

  10. Anybody else notice the Initals under David Roops eyes (see picture on tricitiessports.com)... Classis Rivalry stuff... "FTH" It didn't take long to figure out what that show of affection to the Toppers meant.

I am guessing but I bet this is correct. Dobyns-Bennett won more games @ Memorial Stadium over the years than any other Stadium besides J Fred. I will look that up... it will be close between The Stone Castle.

We need to put the hammer down on the Falcons and go into the playoffs with momentum and a 3 game win streak.

    Roll Tribe Roll

"" Finish The Hill "" is the reference I made in an earlier post.. A couple of SH girls were walking behind us as we went past the DB dressing room and they were saying something along those lines directed toward our team.I think they had FTT on their faces.Well, truth be known, they were screaming it at our team!!They didn't understand it was supposed to be finish !! That's about all I will say on that :thumb:

Yeah, it really meant "Finish the Hill". :thumb: And if Science Hill had FTT, it didn't mean "Finish the Tribe".

  11. I guess the chance of the players reading this thread by now is remote. Otherwise I would not have anything to say. I came to understand that we are pretty banged up. I also understand that morale is not good also. This from what I can calculate, is going to be one of those games where the common consensus is do you want this or not. If you do then how bad do you want it. It seems the lose to DB had the 2nd biggest effect on this team this season. My understanding is the attitude is not good. Science Hill is a talent laden team. They have morale problems as well hence their losses of late. I feel we have a very good chance of loosing this game. At best I think it will be a close game. It is rather evident that as predicted the Rebels will not wake up until Oct 30th. So sad for a group of kids that were State Championship material in week 0.

I do wish for the best and I will be there in support but I think some leadership needs to step up. The D needs to lead this game. If the D goes out and takes control then Heath and the O will follow. If the D does not go out strong we will suffer another loss. I feel a return TD by Paul Wagner will get the blood pumping. My son tells me he wishes he had this offensive line in college and then he would be fine. He says their intelligence level is non existant and they work smart not hard. He doesn't understand why the running game is struggling. He says Bobeye is not seeing the cutback...something he readily saw last year. I asked him to speak to him before the game and he concurred. I think that if #2 can cut loose like he did every time he touched the ball last year it will cause a spark that will light a bonfire. In my mind that is the key. That psychological trump card will give Heath the cushion he needs to feel as comfortable as he needs to set the night alight. I will go with the Rebels 28/21.

I believe everybody is waiting for this team to wake up. We have too many seniors on this team for leadership to be a problem. What I was afraid of seems to be happening. We put everything into the DB game and didn't come away with a win so some feel the season has been lost. We have three games left in the regular season to show the conference what we're made of. Let's go out there and show the rest of the state that we will be a force in the playoffs.

  12. 6:30pm early enough?

Our visitor stands just go to the 37 one way,6:30 will be plenty early for this week.If it were South coming in,I'd be in line before 6:00 when the gates open.If I were a visitor,I'd get in line right behind the baseball grandstands and get one of the home seats that have not been picked up,that window opens at 6:00 I think.I wouldn't sit in those crappy visitor seats we offer. :roflol: When that starts to happen,I bet you we will see some seats being built across the way, baseball field or not.

Thank you for the information. This will be my first trip to D-B for a football game. I was very unimpressed with Science Hill's stadium so I'm sure D-B couldn't be worse.

LOL. You are in for a surprise. Atmosphere, great. Seating, :roflol:

  13. Cap,if you're not already in politics,I want to launch your campaign. You've got to be the best at putting your spin on things. You guys beat a Dobyns-Bennett team playing without an offense. I'm not sure they would have beaten Central that night between the injuries and flu they were dealing with. This sounds more like your hollow victory over Greeneville minus leading tackler Chaz Story plus 7 gift-wrapped fumbles.

NEWS FLASH!!!! Tennessee High beats DB AND Greeneville CONVINCINGLY without last years OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR (and the horse that LEADS the Viking Ship) Keenan Shepard!!!! With a healthy Keenan… OMG Keenan is our CS… you guys will never understand so I’m not even going to try. dry.gif The only statement you made that wasn’t an excuse was “You guys beat a Dobyns-Bennett team playing without an offense”… THATS a fact. Your “offense” had a pulled groin muscle and took himself out of the game. Which brings us back to my first statement… STOP CS AND STOP DB! I’m just spinning you around and pointing you in the right direction Crawdad. :thu!mb:

Cmon Cap quit dancin around. We got a big game in 2 weeks. You gonna LET EM SWING or not ?

Well, he doesn't seem to be worried about Boone.

  14. I guess he has to crow about it now since he's been eating that crow for the last 4 years. :?

And I guess you’re still crowing a bout the last 4 years from all that dirty bird you have left over from the 8 (EIGHT) STRAIGHT years before that served to you on a silver platter by the Vikings… and everyone else for that matter. RebYel, you’ll probably be sitting in your rocking chair 40 years from now, on the porch of some nursing home somewhere, telling your homies in the chess club about the good old days aka “ THE LAST FOUR YEARS” when we beat the Vikings four games in a row, while DODGING DB to become the MYTHICAL supper power of the east!!! You may as well dwell on the last four years while you can… because I believe them days are number. And two Fridays ago those numbers were 48 to a weak 28. Now unless we are going to go ahead and get this party started….you Southerners better call your lil puppy off!!! :roflol:

Somebody is a little touchy. Guess you all know something about mythical championships though. If I'm sitting around in 40 years talking about high school football, I have big problems. I'll be lying out on the beach somewhere possibly wondering what Cap and Waco are arguing about on Coacht. Nah, too many hot women around me for that. :?

  15. :thumb:

He is the mayor of TN High football.

  16.

Yeah, I'm still not over the DB game. I don't know...it was too much like Greeneville last year for me. I took it personal all over again. Not the ref thing just the football part. I mean after all, it was my son that lost the game. But as well, I feel this weeks game is crucial. And I feel a bit of trepidation. But for the Falcon game I just had to get away and try and let the air clear.

I really hope that you nor your son believe this. In my eyes, he won the game on the TD run that was called back.

  17. Comp, I think you need to check back in to the nut house. Your going to be walking around with Harry down town by the end of the year. :thumb:

OMG...I need a drink. And you...just because you said 6'2" well there they go! Well Waco said........... Check it out...we got Harry you know...and of course years ago there was Little Paul...remember him? Well, at the Viking/DB game I met Shamu. What a trip! This guy is out there. When he first passed by me I thought, "what the hey". Then I heard the word Shamu and so I said, "are You Shamu?" And he rattled of something as he stormed off. This guys on a mission. Could still be in Viet Nam. Did you get wet Jack? Check back into the nut house? Is yo' mama cooking' supper? 'Cause if she is then I'll bring BobbyMama. It's OK with you right. Maybe we can play some shoufleboard. Cap, tell us about Shamu.

Are you talking about the Viking associate head coach,Shamus?

I think he was the acting head coach for the last 4 years.

  18. Hey Comp. I don't have any issues with you. I treat your's like my own and try to be an encourager. I don't know how we are to know about injuries or issues if we don't have a kid playing, invoved in coaching staff ,or attend practice instead of reporting to our jobs. I would, however, like to know about the scouting report on the Vikings. Maybe you can fill me in at the game friday night?

I think I need to sit with you guys on Fridays to get the inside scoop on things. :roflol:
