Guys, Do not forget the UTC clinic at Stratford this Saturday October 30th registration at 8:30am and Clinic at 9:00am til 2:00pm. Some of the UTC coaches and wrestlers will be conducting the clinic. Guys, I want to see if their is any interest in coming to a Thanksgiving weekend dual meet tournament. I would like to have six teams and that would give us a 5 match round robin dual meet tournament. I have my team (Stratford) and David Lipscomb now. I need four more teams. UTC Wrestling Clinic Oct. 30th 9:00 am - 2:00 pm $30/wrestler including T-Shirt One Coach free/5 wrestlers Stratford High School Coaches I was at the UTC Wrestling clinic at FRA and I realized that a lot of you could not attend the clinic due to football practice! I have been in that situation before myself. UTC put on a great clinic!I asked them to come back to Nashville on a Saturday so the the coaches that are coaching football could come. We worked out the date to be Saturday October 30th. The clinic will be for both Wrestlers and Coaches. UTC wrestlers including UTC's All-American Cody Cleveland will put the wrestlers through a "Moc" type practice while the UTC Coaches explain what the wrestlers are doing and why! Coaches will be able to ask questions as the "Moc" practice is going on. After the "Moc" practice we will take a break for lunch. Coaches can talk one on one with the UTC coaches during lunch (the concession stand will be open with Hamburgers and Hot Dogs and other snacks)and the wrestlers can talk one on one with the UTC wrestlers. After lunch the wrestlers will be taught technique by the UTC coaches and UTC wrestlers. This will be a great experience for both coaches and wrestlers before the season starts on Nov.1 UTC coaches are not only great coaches and teachers of our "Great Sport of Wrestling" but are fantastic individuals that are developing their wrestlers into being fantastic young men! They are a great role model for me as a wrestling coach. Their wrestlers are also great role models for my young wrestlers. I believe you will feel the same way! I have been involved with wrestling in Tennessee for the past 40 years and I am excited about the opporunity to attend the clinic and pick the brains of the UTC coaches. My wrestlers are excited about being with the only D1 wrestling program in Tennessee. I hope that the football coaches will take advantage of this clinic being on Saturday and will bring their wrestlers to see what it is like on the next level. Guys, these Coaches and wrestlers want to help you anyway that they can. They are very accessable and would love to meet you and your wrestlers and get to know you personaly. I know you guys will take advantage of having yourself, your assistants and your wrestlers to get started off on the right foot the weekend before practice begins. Coaches, Stratford High School in Nashville is going to field a wrestling team this year after not having a team for several years. I have been hired to teach at Stratford after spending the last seven years teaching in Georgia. I know it is late to be trying to get a schedule but if you would consider letting us join in your dual and make it a tri, join in your tri and make it a quad, I would very much appreciate it. I am not sure how good the wrestlers will be because of us not having a team for several years but I feel certain that we have have a full team. Is any online results like there was for the state dual? I got spoiled! I had surgery yesterday and sure would like to have the results like for the dual. The Duals results were great online. If anyone know please let me know. The TSSAA aren't even keeping their backests updated!
