I can't believe the adminisration at Sequatchie Co. would pick a proven winner over Curt Jones!!!!!

Chiefs football is ready to follow suite with Basketball and Baseball. Chiefs Basketball and Baseball both won the District last season and football looks to claim it's stake this year. I Know it was not possible, in the eyes of many, last year for Basketball and baseball but the Chiefs proved everyone wrong. Chiefs win this contest 21-7. The Chiefs offense is much improved with Dyer, McKane, and Huffman carrying the load. The biggest improvement is on Defense. Chiefs are still very young upfront and should continue to improve week to week. Good luck! Go CHIEFS!

The road to a district title in football just took a u-turn. But if I know the Sequoyah posters, this will be motivation and they will use to win the state. NOT!!!! Carter Scott ruled the line last night, especially in the second half.

Spring practice is running full tilt with Holliday, Harris, Vestal, Chrisman, and the one and only P.J. Hackney as coaches. They are also getting help from some former players like Robbie Cornelius and Scott Miller.

Meigs better hope that is true!

Or middle aged guy with experience along with fire and motivation..... the staff is young enough as it is. Need a little experience to head the program. Pretty important hire with all the talent supposedly coming up!

The coach that "runtheball" is referring to is Jason Phillips( i think that is his name). Played at Maryville H S and Tusculum College and coached there also. There evidently is an issue or he would have been hired last time. And it is not that he is too young! Not sure what it is, if it is anything. But there has to be something wrong not getting hired with that good of a resume.

Maybe thats what the Tigers need is a young guy to bring in some fire and innovation!!!!!!!!!!

Rumor has it John is in and former assistant Bryan Sayne will be the offensive coordinator.

I also heard that boys basketball asst Michael Malone has signed on as defensive backs/wide receivers coach. He played in the late 90's

I think it is the fantastic assistant coach they had around 02-03 John K. Grissom.

If we are going to start rumors, then I heard they are going to dust off Bill James and Jack Rayl and make them co-head coaches.

Makes you wonder what the reasons are and why the hire has not been made the last two openings.

This young man has ties very close. The administration knows who he is,he will apply if he has not already,and will be the best coach they can get. Reason for saying this is that he has no intention of going anywhere. He desires to coach football in a small school and live in the area permanently.If Meigs wants a young man who will run a program the right way and that kids will love playing for,he is the top choice. His wife grew up and went to school close by and it will be a perfect fit for both Meigs and coach.

This could be any number of people, from Jason Howard to Zach Harris to Ricky Holliday. If the administration knows who he is then why wasn't he hired pre-Eller. There must be a reason!!!!!!!!!

Any word on what is happening at Midway? Has anyone interviewed?

Rumor is that Phil Fulmer and Urban Meyer and going to stage an old fashioned street fight and the winner gets the job.

Sorry guys, Ricky didn't get the head coaching job. Curt Jones is the head coach, so lets see if you Ricky fans can get on board and support the program not just one guy. I thought it was about the kids!!!

I learned last night that no one has been interviewed in over 2 weeks. I also learned that we may be losing a another starting lineman to Rhea Co. Does anyone in the school system care? Maybe Don will step up and hire someone. Its been too long, apparently Baker can't do the job.

The Zach Rayl syndrome has struck again. There was an interview yesterday and Baker will get the job done when he finds the right candidate. And just for anybodys info one of the kids that is leaving is working harder now that he is leaving than any of his three years here. Says a lot for his pride in Meigs County football.

Does anyone have a realistic idea of what is going to happen with this situation?

 

I say get Coach James to be head coach and let Rayl, Mr. Roberts, and Baker be assistants. Someone find Coach Webb. He can be another assistant and will definitely put the fire into those kids. Haha.

By the way Hump there hasn't been a kicker since you left. If this was the case, look for power I with Webb throwing in a little wing T. Hump414 why don't you put in for the job?

Mr. Roberts is the director of schools. Word on the street is that since graduation is this week the search is on the back burner but it will continue next week.

Again old cat you seem to have all the answers, and know it all I think as a parent i need to call and recomend you for the job, leave your name and number and ill get with the rest of parents to make it happen. Holiday. I am sure there are Coaches who have applied that are more qualified. But from the looks of your situation, your going to be looking for another one four years down the road that gets offered their "dream job". So reward a guy that has been nothing but loyal to you. He wants to stay there forever. Loyalty means more to me than anything else. You can't learn that character trait. Either you got it or you dont.

Loyalty, He's tried to leave everytime things don't go his way. Last time I checked that ain't loyalty.
