  1. I look for either Tyner or Howard to win it all. They are just too big, too quick and too well coached this year. Just ask York about Tyner... the score was worse than what Tyner did to their own district foes.
  2. ...LA will need more than five(5) players to go-up against Howard...they are nine(9) deep with experience...believe me it won't be like last year so get ready to run more than you did against Red Bank!!! Congrats TynerRamFan, that was a great game tonight. It was nice to hear how loud that crowd stayed all night. Number 34 for you all needs to be signed by a D1 school also. He is the real deal. I wonder just how good you all would be if #11 would have not gotten hurt earlier this season. Good luck at the next level of the State and this Canes fan says... Go Rams!!!

I always hate to hear about any kid getting injured. I've always heard that tearing a ligament is worse than breaking a bone. Hopefully he is an underclassman and has another year or 2 to play. Hope the best for him and your team! Thanks! Good luck to you all as well.
  4. and what 2 teams is that?? Tyner and Howard Both teams are very strong, have fast guards, multiple big men with great skill sets. Look for these two teams to cause havoc in the sub-state. One of them WILL make it to the state final. Howard has one of the BEST coaches I have ever seen at the high school level. This team is very disciplined and he does not allow showboating on his team. I can not tell you how much respect people around here have for the man. Class act for sure.

It was simply one of those times when two players go for the same ball. They did not collide but it made one kid catch himself awkwardly as he was going to the ground and tore a ligament in his throwing hand.

    Hixson Playday

It is a little early to tell how well these teams will play but I find it hard to believe that East Hamiliton will come in 2nd place. I may be wrong but I SERIOUSLY doubt it! We will see, EH... good luck!!! By the way, why doesn't EH play Grace? They are close to each other and have yet to meet. Saw EH this weekend, all I can say is who picked out those green hats...they looked almost neon in the sun! I guess they will always standout! Well my number two pick may be a little optimistic in thinking, but after what a lot of these kids have been through with playing football and basketball in one of the toughest districts, I think they are ready to work harder in a sport where they have a chance to be competitive. However, I just learned yesterday we are going to be down another starting pitcher and big stick after a freak on-field accident Saturday night. Coach Garland is doing a great job with everything he is having to deal with. (i.e.. No field, no seniors, weather, players who have never played together before, etc.) I myself would love to see an EH vs Grace game. I know a lot of these kids, from both schools, played their rec league years at East Brainerd. Maybe Grace can get in our tournament so we can play against each other. As far as the green hats go... they kind of grow on you after about the fourth game. lol Good luck to you all as well and lets just hope neither team loses anymore players to injury.
  7. We paid $5 to park at Cleveland High School last year when they hosted the Regional Tournament for AAA. Everyone knows that it is a DONATION. Every school charges money to park to help offset their athletic costs and that is why the tournament rotates location. It benefits all schools that way. East Hamilton has NO BASEBALL FIELD, NO FOOTBALL FIELD, NO TRACK, NO TENNIS COURTS, NO SOFTBALL FIELD. Hamilton County does not pay for athletic facilities. The only reason they have a gym is because it is considered a class room. For them to ask for $3 dollars to park is NOT out of the question. As far as the gate charge, that is totally determined by the TSSAA and NOT East Hamilton. Instead of complaining on this site, feel fortunate that you are not going through what the parents and players are going through right now at East Hamilton. They are all having to pay a larger price than anyone else to try and raise enough money so the kids at that school don't have to travel all over town to try and find a field to play other schools. Go ahead.. if it makes you feel like a BETTER PERSON because you don't want to donate $3 to help out high school and middle school kids in need, then keep your money. I am sure they would rather not have it.

OK now, be serious! I am serious. If you think differently then "man up" and post yours. We will visit this again at the end of the season.

    Hixson Playday

Now that the play day is over, how about some predictions for the local AA teams. Here is mine: 1. Red Bank (favor RB over EH only because of being an established team) 2. East Hamilton 3. Central 4. Hixson 5. East Ridge 6. Howard 7. Tyner 8. Brainerd Good luck to all and Go Canes!
  10. I just hope they do not have to rely on too many freshmen. The freshmen this year have really been put into levels of competition that they just are not ready to compete at. You can imagine how hard it would be for a freshment to step into a batters box facing a guy throwing in the high eighties. It is not as much as they can't hit it as much as they are not mentally where they need to be to face veteran pitchers. I am looking forward to Saturday and hope to get to catch at least a couple of their games. Do you know whether they will be charging to watch or not?
  11. New to AA Baseball in Chattanooga, any predictions for how it will go? How well do you think East Hamilton will fare in baseball considering they have gotten whipped pretty badly in the other major sports this year? I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will be their breakthrough sport this year. Does anyone know who the kids to watch will be in AA baseball as well? Thanks in advance for your comments.
  12. ...How about 'surprising' us by posting your entire basketball schedule on CoachT...it's the least you can do since you 'claim' to have a tougher schedule than anyone in the city!!! With all due respect to your teams, none of you all have as tough of a schedule as East Hamilton. We have to play all four of the district powerhouses (Red Bank, Tyner, Howard, Brainerd) and you guys only have to play three since you make up the fourth. Then we get Ooltewah and who knows who else to boot. I think we will be looking for some MORAL victories this season. Good luck to all and let's keep it clean. Go Canes!
  13. First let me say... this board is much BETTER than the football boards. I quit reading them because it was nothing but crap. Ooltewah graduated nine seniors and one kid who is not eligible to play this year. Then Jaq Smith who played mostly for the JV team and who was tremendous under boards is headed to UT in January. This leaves only two players from last years varsity team. One is a kid named Josh Lloyd (I think). He is a quite kid with a lot of talent.. maybe the most talented on their team. But he will have to break out of his shell and be a leader and start shooting more. He has the tools, just needs to use them. Then they have another kid who is a decent shooter returning. Other than that, they will have one Junior from last years JV team and he can be explosive when he is on. The rest will be Sophmores with a lot of potential but they will have to step up to a varsity level and I am not sure too many of them can. As far as East Hamilton goes... can't wait to see what they can do in the toughest district in Hamilton County. From the kids who I know are on the team... they can shoot... but how well will they work together this first year coming from so many different schools? I think Red Bank will be the team to beat again this year. Nick Ross is a great kid and somehow makes shots that should never be taken or even go in. I saw guys all in his face last year from Ooltewah and he just threw it up and swooshed it from way beyond the ark. If it is luck.. he is one lucky kid because he does it again and again.
  14. If Signal Mtn really wanted to make money, they would charge an additional $3 for a golf cart ride to the stadium after they park you over 3/4 of a mile from the entrance. Be sure to wear good shoes because you WILL have to walk a long ways to the visitors entrance.
  15. Tyner may have struggled early but I don't see McCallie slowing the Rams down like Ooltewah. Tyner will break out big in this game. Tyner 28 McCallie 10
  16. The countdown is on. The Hurricanes look like they are coming together as a unit and hopefully tonight they will get it together on the field. Looking forward to a new era in Chattanooga football. I think tonight's game will the start to a good rivalry for years to come. Good luck to both teams and hopefully no one will suffer a season ending injury. Go HURRICANES!!!
  17. Thanks for the information SMeagle1. Also, I am glad to see there is at least one person who can carry on a friendly conversation. We have had a good following for our scrimmages so you all should see a good following Friday night. I have not heard about any busses coming other than the ones carrying the players and the band. How many people does your visitors section hold? Looking forward to Friday night!
  18. East Hamilton got quality offensive lineman from OHS but that is about it. Not a lot of experience, but they are developing quickly. This team will have to play like a team as it does not have any one player who really stands out as a stud. I think it will be a good game and the Hurricanes will get better with each quarter played. As far as predictions, I will predict attendance instead of a score. If you all brought in 3,000 to play Hixson, I am going to say there will be at least 5,000 this Friday night when you play a well supported young East Hamilton team. I thought Signal Mountain outplayed Tyner in the Jamboree and they look to be a contender in their first real season. Good luck and may the boys have fun as history will be made Friday night. Go HURRICANES!
