A lot of truth in this post but weren't you guilty of the part in bold concerning your friend in the beginning? I know thoughts and feelings change as more info comes out but you were pretty adamant about his innocence without knowing the facts. Although it is obvious that he was working under orders and isn't fully to blame he still should know right from wrong and this was definitely wrong.

Now that that Hargis man mentioned it on that radio show you'll see now that it is going deeper. They have racist comments by McCurry. A school in the north cancelled the rest of their season after someone painted racist remarks on the wall. He was also encouraging players to hurt Lankford and other opponents as well. That is worse than the spray paint, even the NFL thinks so. Look at what they are doing to people caught bounty hunting in the league. I have no way of knowing if it is true but I did hear that he was wanting kids to use foreign objects to accomplish this task

Boyd may want to do some investigating on their own. They may have been victims as well from someone I talked to this morning.

I really hate it for the individual boys who got called out by name and had vulgarities painted about them. If I was a parent of those kids I would personally go after the coaches.

If the things I heard this morning are true on McCurry then he needs to be fired today. If it is true what he called a SP running back and if he was encouraging players to hurt him he should never coach again. That includes the North Jackson job he agreed to take last week. This is bad for the players. I can't imagine what they are going through. I say let Randy K take them up to Trousdale to play but there is no way that the team will have their hearts in the game.

Mentioning names isn't a crime, just bad taste. The arrogant play has toned down a ton and I'm seeing the ones you call arrogant celebrating with their team more instead of showing off.

Speaking of terrible, here we have a fan that can't spell the name of one of his team's players. Not to mention it's a grown man singling out high school kids by names. This is a COMPLETELY different team than what we saw the first 2 or 3 games of the year. So tell us Geno, you didn't like Vic as the coach, you don't like the way Tim handles the team, why do you even go watch the games?

I guess I should rephrase it. The expectations for those years weren't as high. No one expected those teams to really compete for a state championship the way were expected to in the mid to late 90's and the way that they are expected to today. They had some good records but as many people on here have said, it's about championships at SP. Those years no one expected a championship so it was considered by some to be a down time. You are right about the true down teams being 2000 and 2004, as well as how well the 2001 team played.

2000-2004 were pretty lean years for South Pitt. They did make the semis in 2001 but it wasn't a great team, I think they wen't 6-4 in the regular season. Things just went their way when they had to. 2004 had some talent but only won like 3 games. I'm afraid there will be some more lean times in the near future but like always, I don't expect it to last too long.
