It’s not about the numbers. It’s about the media votes. We had one get snubbed last year as well. We were fortunate enough to get a finalist in 2021. Boldin will continue to put players in contention.

Speaking on behalf of the media, It's not all our decision, coaches also have a influence on who gets nominated.

I could have made a clerical or mathematical error, but I counted Westmoreland’s opponents (to date) have won 53 games and Monterey’s opponents have won 51 games. However, even if I am right for now, we don’t know how many games each team’s opponents will win this week. If Westmoreland’s opponents do have more wins after this week’s games, Westmoreland beats TC, and SC beats Monterey, then Westmoreland beats out Monterey for third place. Then, applying the first tie breaker for fourth place, TC wins because with equal records, the first tie breaker is did one of the teams tied beat all the other teams tied. Since there would be only two teams tied for fourth place, and TC beat the other team tied for fourth place, TC wins the tie for fourth place even if they lose to Westmoreland.

This stuff can be confusing, and can get to be a little complex. Therefore, I wouldn’t bet the farm that my analysis above is correct, but as an Old Yellow Jacket, I just hope the playoff streak continues.

Believe the tie breaker after overall record is the number of opponents .500 or better and not the amount of games won by opponents. Then the tie breaker that comes next would be number of wins over those opponents.

Overall record is the first tie breaker, and all 3 would be 5-5. I think the next goes to opponents records and Montereys opponents have more wins. Monterey is in the playoffs, seed to be decided. For TC and Westy, playoffs are NOW!

Next tie breaker goes to number of opponents .500 or better, next would be number of wins over those opponents. Either way, TC has to win or they are out, our only hope for anything else was if Westmoreland lost to Portland.

Atleast the high school coaches aren’t playing their starting running back in a JV jamboree and getting the kid’s leg broken.

Touché, wouldn't hurt to get new guys at both spots, Don't think Clint will be around much longer and when that happens everyone will get what they want and as with any change it could be better or it could be worse.

It won't matter who sits out for Girdy if TC's offense doesn't improve averaging  4, or 5 points a game is a huge issue.

Agreed, but it really comes down to finishing drives. TC moved the ball well vs LA and should have scored at least 2 more times. Then vs Macon, if they score on that 1st possession, it's a totally different game, that was huge gain of momentum for MC and Mo in high school ball can spiral down hill quickly.

This is one of the worse teams in the state. The coach is there only because he wants his son to be a star. Great kid but let’s call it like it is “Daddy’s Ball” . This coach never returns calls to other coaches or local folks trying to help his program. If he was bought into making RBS a real program why hasn’t he moved into the community. I could tell so many accounts about this program why it want ever be good! When is the last time they have ever had a winning season? Has it been before World War 2?

Believe their best season may have been 5-6 (5-5 reg) when Kyle Shoulders was HC

Gallatin getting no love from the sports media all 10 writers picked Hendersonville to win !

Week 1 is always difficult to pick, most I'm assuming see 1st year HC and total change of scheme vs an established program in Hendersonville with a solid player like Baker. It's easier to pick what you know than what you don't know. I doubt many in the media side are picking Hendersonville because they think they are a lot better than Gallatin, because this is a pretty evenly matched game. Just my 2 cents as a fellow media person.

  10. Good ball game, mistakes on both sides as expected in week 1, ultimately Gville's mistakes cost them 13 points. Gville struggled getting Musgrove going but man what a game by Gentry, he's a player. Both teams should get better as the season goes on. And to update those that were in attendance, our 615Preps videographer suffered a broken rib, bruised elbow, and has an orthopedic apt today to see if there is any knee damage. All thoughts and prayers are much appreciated, and 615Preps would like to thank everyone for their help last night in getting her help immediately. Thanks!

  11. As of this morning, Beech's Shackle Island Stadium has been condemned until further notice. Beech vs Station Camp will be moved to White House's field Friday night. Those plans could change as well depending on tests at other Sumner County sights. Also to note Hendersonville's visitors side has also been condemned leaving them 1 side. Gallatin and Portland are receiving testing this afternoon. Will update when I know more.

  12. QB Deuce Knight, 28th ranked player in Class of 25’ will be attending Lipscomb Academy this fall. Huge get and puts the mustangs right there with Baylor and Brentwood Academy in DII-AAA. Oct 20th matchup between George McIntyre and Deuce Knight will be must see in Nashville and may have several College coaches and recruits there.

So hard to do. As a media member myself, unless you have a connection to the kid, coaches don't let information willingly out often. We hear a lot of rumblings behind the scenes but it's so hard to break that news because if we are wrong we lose all credibility. For instance, currently a big time DII-AAA team is supposedly about to land a big-time QB transfer, but we can't confirm it so we cannot break it.

Top 30 class of 25’ QB Deuce Knight transferring to Lipscomb Academy. We heard this over 10 days ago but was not close enough to confirm it. Big time get for the Stangs’

Who are the jackets scrimmaging over the next few weeks?

Not sure on scrimmages but they will partake in a jamboree on the 11th vs RBS, Upperman and Republic both will be there as well I believe. And to answer your question, this team will go as far as Calhoun can take them. Should be improved from last year but only time will tell.

Are you serious? He has been undefeated in each district they have been in since he came in 2015.

Only 1 district/region loss in his coaching career! KC is the best in the state at this moment, no questions asked. Love it, hate it, it is what it is. As one of KC's predecessor's used to say, "I can beat you with my 11 or I can take your 11 and beat my 11."... And he can!

    CCLHL08,

Ideas won't help this coaching staff. They need to just start over. A lot of people in Cross Plains won't be happy with another 3rd quarterfinal round exit.

    Without love,

    Margaret

It's me again Margaret... why don't you like Coach Brooks, Margaret? You're gonna make him mad again Margaret.
