  1. You are correct .. the GP QB had to throw the wet ball too and he made about 4 Short passes on the last drive to win ... that was smart by GP coaches to throw short stuff ... when Fulton QB tried to throw long on the pass that was INT the all slipped in hand .. give GP coaches credit for throwing short intermediate passes ... Just my opinion but wet field helped GP more than Fulton with the speed aspect .. and remember GP never crossed the 50 yard line all game until last drive .. I dont think they were better team cause Fulton gave GP one score and had penalties to extend the last drive or game would have been over or would have been over had Fulton took advantage of earlier opportunities ... GP was lucky at best to come out with win .. Fulton did more to loose game than GP did to win .... and your comment about the sprinklers ... well lets just say its happened before ... I have a good friend that was at gamw with me that his son played there at GP in early 2000's and he used to laugh about how Hammonds would do anything for an edge .. including sprinklers cause he used to do some work for the school and had personally seen feild getting watered when in noway was it needed ... so I do know its happened before. Get ready AE for the slop bowl !!!!
  2. Fulton always has players going both ways... maybe not eight, but there are always a handful of them. 2008: Jamichael Williams, Courtland Styles, Micah Pitchford, Quintest Vinson, Demetrius Thomas, and some linement that I can't name. 2007: Bubble Stokes, Terrence Cobb, Vic Smith, Kenneth Tyson, Derrick Humphrey, Gary Gamble. Hey ColumbiaBlue&Scarlet, I agree with ya on 2007 those 5 played alot both ways but will have to disagree on 2008 .. Pitchford,Vinson and Dman played very little both ways .. heck Pitch doesnt even play both ways this year ... in the lines and LB's are where they play both now ... Cason OL/DL, Vinson DL/TE, Gray DL/OL, Goliday DE/FB , Cotner LB/RB, Winters QB/LB, Dman RB/LB, Barfield WR/S, Allen WR/CB, BRidges WR/CB .. getting D Williams , J Brown , O johnson and B Jackson hurt for the year really hurt the depth ... and when you are playing on a wet damp field your feet get heavy and you slow down and it gets harder to run ... and you get tired easier .. just my opinion ... all I was saying is that GP looked like they had more energy in 4th qtr and Falcons need to get a couple of the walking wounded better in time for playoffs or we will see some of the same things happen in 4th qtr where they run out of gas. AND oh yea ..if GP doesnt water down the field on ya then AE should win by about 28 points ... Fulton just didnt capitalize on the opportunities .. but dont give GP any points because they cant drive the ball on you consistently unless they convert 4 or 5 3rd downs and get a couple questionable penalties in their favor .. AE should win by a bunch !!
  3. Anybody know how this went this afternoon ... ????
  4. Fulton vs Sevier Co ... it would be good game to see ... Coach Brewer ( Stevie D) matched up against his alma mater ..... I wish they would schedule a game
  5. Congrats to a fine team that Alcoa has ... they play hard and look good doing it .. their jerseys are tucked in and they look like winners ... wish Fulton would get away from letting players play with shirt tails hanging out ... so sloopy looking .. anyway I also wish we could have had our full alotment of players available ... 5 starters missing due to injury hurt bad .. especially when you arent deep anyway ... but the guys that had to go played hard on Friday night .. and listening to the end of game today I think those players doubted from getgo that they could get 2 scores in 6 mins ... you have to tackle well when you play Alcoa and Falcons looked to be holding on for dear life alot ... I dont think final score indicates the kind of game it was the 1st 3 qtrs ... good luck Alcoa ... you aint gonna need it though .. time for Falcons to heal up the wounded .. I think 2 of the 5 starters will be back after a couple more games but 3 of them are gone for season I was told ... bad luck ..
  6. Just got back from game ... Alcoa has a talented team and was gaining yards on the ground but until the backup QB or Fulton gave Alcoa a TD on an interception return it was a close game .. still is with Fulton having the ball with 6 mins left ... we just game Alcoa a score there ... Fulton starting QB had to play TE cause the other TE's got hurt in game .. J. Brown the starter at TE and MLB went out first series with injury and backup TE went out in 2nd qtr with knee injury ... I believe I would have went without TE and left Winters at QB ... number 12 looked like he was just throwing it up ... anyway .. the walking wounded at Fulton grows ... they were already missing starting CB ( D. Wiiliams - ACL) , Starting DE and backup TB ( Chapman), starting WR and backup corner ( Bridges) and then in game lost starting TE and MLB Brown and backup TE/DE Johnson ... I think if Fulton was healthy that game would be even ... I think Falcons hung in there despite the injuries when they already have little depth ... am I mai king excuses ???? yes I am ... Alcoa is good but I think a healthy Fulton plays right with them.
  7. It's just how the TSSAA is set up. BTW....you friend's son can not get into the Maryville system without moving into the city of Maryville. Maryville is full and has very few tuition students remaining in the program. The tuition students currently involved have been in the system and at that status for several years. As for Alcoa....he can live anywhere in the world and attend Alcoa for a meager $500.00 a year. Pretty good deal huh? Regardless, at Alcoa he would be greeted with an above average academic institution that is somewhat limited on curriculum because of the size. The facilities are nice, especially the basketball and baseball facilities but the football stadium is a dump. Regardless, there are rumors of upgrades in the future. He could join the many tuition students that make up this football power house possibly pushing their percentage of tuition students on the football team over the current 40% ration. Despite your feelings regarding the fairness of the situation it is what it is. If you think the Knoxville situation is much different you are kidding yourself. For years we have watched kids jump from Fulton to AE and back, from Powell to Central and back, and of course the west Knoxville debacle. My suggestion.....your friend wouldn't go wrong enrolling his child into the F5 program and joining the many tuition students that make up this power house. Good luck..... Looks like I opened a can of worms on all this tuition thing .. Now I know that Fulton had a couple transfers in past years but they had to move into the Fulton zone to play .. I remeber last year kid from Central didnt play till 3rd game cause of he hadnt moved yet. And I dont ever remember kid goin from AE to Fulton back to AE or visa versa ... so I dont know what you are talkin about there .. fact is you have to LIVE in that ZONE to play there .... Alcoa looks to be a private school if they have that many out of zone kids payin tuition .. I talked to my friend and he said the family that is movin in from NC is open to living about anywhere .. the kid is a stud from what I hear ... LB, FB, Te type ... already offered by East Carolina .. others looking .. well I will let the family decide what they want to do ..I was just getting info .... but I just dont understand how Alcoa can play public when you can live anywhere and go there .. to me that means private and they should play private or have to use this multiplier thing that Catholic uses .....
  8. Question ... someone answer .. I have a close firend in NC thats moving here to start a buisness with one of his high school friends .. he has a son who plays LB at 6'2 225 ... they want their son to possibly go to a school with good football .. the friend he has here has kids that go to Fulton .. he has inquired about Fulton and was told yes they would have to move into the school zone .. he was told about Maryville and Alcoa .. that he could pay tuition and live anywhere and his son go there ... he asked me if they were private .. I told him no they played in the public playoffs .. he didnt under stand how a kid from outside of a school zone could pay and play at school ..I told it didnt make sense to me either .. how cana school who has kids living outside a zone pay and play under public schools ..doesnt look fair to the schools where the kids must live in that zone like Fulton , Central , Halls ,AE etc... I told him I didnt know rules but he may be interested in him goin to Alcoa or Maryville .. anybody know why these schools like Aloca / Maryville arent classified as private since they have kids playin football from everywhere ?????
