  1. Exactly...why is it when we go 2-0 starting a great season it's " We haven't played anybody good..." but when an 0-2 team comes up and gets a win on our "historically losing team " all of a sudden it's " hard nosed, fast football?" These boys have more heart for the game than you could ever know. Games are played for a reason....to determine the winner "Each" time it's played. This is football, nothing is impossible because hey guess what even the New Orleans Aint's won the Super Bowl. So I will begrudgingly say to Watertown what everyone says to us...you got the win but "who have you played?"
  2. Agreed, he was different. I'll talk to him about the blocks since he's the ONLY one missing them. No really I did notice a couple time Friday that it was his man that made the tackle. Just felt you were singling him out and I WILL defend that. See you Friday.
  3. Every time he plays? How many games has it been? 1 Who is playing hurt? Don't even go there. 14 played ALL season after going to the hospital from the rib shot at the Pickett game. Yet he still managed to run the ball with fury...go to the sidelines, double over and nearly puke from the pain. He's already suffered a cervical sprain this year (also a hospital trip)in which his esophogus (look it up) was so swelled he could not eat for two days. Your judgement it unfair. He gives alot to that team and it's not just for himself. He could have left to play 4A ball years ago but chose to stay with the losing team that RBS WAS. Don't for one minute act like you know this kid. I resent the hostility and one sidedness in your posts. If you want to talk bad about my kid, I'll be the one in the 14 hat come next Friday.
  4. I was a bit disappointed too. You have to agree that wasn't the 14 you have seen in the past. Excuses are excuses but a quad injury the day before and heat exhaustion from improperly fitting shoulder pads had a lot to do with that. We have to fix that pad problem NOW! Oh and I have PLENTY of game film to debunk your blocking claims. Come Pickett county the old 14 should be there ready to knock their D in the dirt.
  5. Their 6 was a kick return. The Eagles never drove the ball past their own 40 as I remember. Numerous sacks, fumbles and 3 picks made RBS defense look really good. To be fair, that field stayed wet all night and we had our share of screw-ups too,it is early in the season.
  6. RBS had 2:00 to get down field and was making it when their HB #14 got drove OB hard which aggravated the bruised ribs from the Pickett County game. He was out the rest of the game. He ran great all night including a 60 yarder and a fake PAT for 2 point conversion. I believe they would have scored. Nevertheless I was at Skyline Medical til about 2:00AM that night. You could cut that kids leg off and come Friday night he'd tell you he was fine.
  7. I have a feeling the Bulldog lineman will be doing extra work this week. I haven't seen the size of CCHS line but we cannot take more punishment up front like Watertown was. Dickens isn't scared to keep it. Watson is running great as is Washington. If Kelley can get healthy enough to have more ball responsibilities this week; he could be a threat on O & D. Banged up @ Watertown...coaches wouldn't give him the ball. Line needs some attitude adjusting from what I can tell.
  8. I was there...it seemed RBS just wasn't with it from the start. I mean when I got there they weren't fired up at all. It was a different team. First thing I noticed was the sizable difference in the number of players. Second thing was the size of their linemen. I think RBS got dominated on the line and everything else after that just fell apart. If you've got no time to do your job it doesn't get done well at all. Execution, execution, execution! Dickens was throwing less than average passes in warmup...where you should be throwing perfect passes. People can say what they want but Watertown won this game before it started...because the Bulldogs didn't show up.I fear they are gonna have to work pretty hard to even stay healthy against Clay. Bad snaps, missed handoffs, fumbles in the backfield...that adds up to a weak line or a rattled QB or both but even worse, it adds up to lost yardage as well.
