  1. I guess your brother is a great cross-dresser. Maybe a family trait you also enjoy. You will not find West fans on here talking aboutour strength or speed numbers. For that matter, not many winners are on here talking about such mindless things. Max benches with spotter "just touching the bar" and quick fingered stop watches for 40 times are not our concern. I find it funny that I heard from a JC assistant himself that Jeff had 3 SEC caliber players, but none had a single offer. The program at Jeff has been in decline since Scooter and Jeff Jennings left. This year will be better because Greenville and William Blount will be down. Sevier Co will still beat you and you will watch the playoffs again.

Man, I sure am glad that west fans don't waste anyone's time by talking about "mindless things" such as speed and strength statistics. Yet this idiotic fan finds the time to speak upon "cross-dressing and having intercourse with so and so's sister." :thumb: You're an entertainer to say the least.

  2. My sources have given me some pretty accurate facts about the testing that went on the week before spring break. As far as the Bench Press Max, the top few guys were: 315- Goins, and Winstead. 300- Stooksburry. 295- Cain and 280- Bradley. 40 times (stop watches) have improved dramatically. Goins and Hopkins were in the 4.4's. Mcfall and Turner in the 4.5's. Cain and Trower in the 4.6's, and many others were in the range of 4.7's-4.9's. Stooksbury squated 275 pounds 21 times to lead the team. These are just a few stats that i was told. I can see that many have improved a great deal! Im excited to see what next season holds!! GO PATRIOTS!

  3. Spring practice begins in early May and is concluded on May 18th with the blue and white game. Other than that, there are no more spring scrimmiges

Is this common for Jeffeson Co. not to scrimmage anyone in the spring? Seems like a scrimmage would give a coach a better read on the kind of team he will have. Just the thoughts of a random fan.

Jeff Co usually does participate in Spring Scrimages. They scrimaged Science Hill last year and Maryville two years ago. Im not sure why there isen't any scheduled for this spring though.

  4. Goins' accomplishments look good on paper, but that first team all-region is misleading given that the Offensive Player of the Year was a quarterback and was not in contention for all region teams. I can't say that I was pleased with the quarterback play last year, all-region or not. In years past, with guys like Cory Watson, Dawson Halliday, Zach Long, and Jamie Crawford in the conference, Goins would not have even sniffed the all-region team. Call it what you will, but that much is very clear. His best game to date occurred during his sophomore year. He certainly has some tools to work with, but we haven't seen much improvement to date, which makes me wonder if we have a capable quarterback coach. I'm not as in touch as I used to be, and I only know what I see from the stands or hear from others, so I'm not sure who handles the quarterbacks.

As for athletes capable of playing college ball, Ausmus and Mason are the two that stick out in my mind. Unfortunately, I hear Mason doesn't quite have it together off the field but, both, from a talent standpoint, could without a doubt play somewhere. Like it was said before me, it takes a combination of talent and work ethic that I don't see out of anyone else on the team. Kids simply aren't as driven as they were back in my time. I remember we'd have guys who lived in that weight room and others who were just "country strong". Either way we understood what hard work meant and weren't afraid of it.

Im with linemenpat, please give me examples of how this team is lazy. You arent around the team to even make this arguement relivent. Unless you go to JCHS everyday and watch thier workout class, or watch the kids who stay after school and workout, please do not voice your opinions, because quite frankly, a lot of us are tired of hearing all your negativity toward the young men in the program. It's gettin pretty old

  5. Well if i remember correctly, anytime the team needed a boost in a tight game it came from the Defense! Offensive production wasn't present in any tight situations last year. In the West game Goins attacked the line of scrimmage the first drive to lead the team to a field goal, but after the west defense started breaking through for more pressure, i sometimes saw goins losing ground in a veer offense!? Just saying in tough games last season the defense prevailed (seymour game) as the offense failed. Granted to goins line wasn't very productive either, but he is the leader out there when the offense is on the field. To me the leadership wasn't there, but i might have been missing something. (Kudos to Wayne Chism but as for Kiffin he was a good QB coach we must give him that)

The defense did step up in critical times this past year, but do you rememeber the weather conditions during the West game? It looked like they were playing in a swamp. Running every play out of shotgun was a challenge in itself. Im not saying thats an excuse but i was just throwing it out there. Just wait till august!!! This team will be one to remember. I promise you.

  6. The best is the best in my opinion counteroption  But for this to hold true i do believe the coaches should look deeper into their personnel and make sure goins is the right guy for the job. Bible and others that have the desire to lead the team should be evaluated equal to Goins. Good luck to the patriots in spring practice.

and what makes you thing Goins doesnt want to lead this team? What makes you think hes not a leader in the huddle? The coaches are doing whats best for the team. I would stick to your day job if i were you and leave the coaching to the coaches, buddy.

  7. Offensive MVP, First team all confernse, All Lakeway team, LAY OFF ANTHONY GOINS!!!!!! Jeff Co. threw the ball more this year than they have in the past 20 years! He threw for over 1,000 yards with 5 TDs (not to mention all the rushing Tds he had) as a Junior! He is one of the leaders on the team. As for Bible, he is talented no doubt. He probably has the best arm on the team, but like many have already said, he doesnt fit in our offense at all. They will probably tweak it for him his senior year but not now. Jefferson has 18 starters returning i believe, and they have 30 seniors on the team. I have been around a lot of the team functions and there is no lack of work ethic. Those kids are bustin it in the weightroom and many stay after school to get more work in. granted not every kid is like that, but the majority of the team is putting there heart into it.

  8. Funny thing is when the junior class now you guys have were freshmen... Their parents thought they were just all of it and should be on varsity... Well they are all starting for the most part from an above comment. It was stated that there are only 4 seniors player the rest are juniors. So where all the all mighty juniors that went underfeated as freshman that were suppose to be so good? HUH? They are so suppose to be the best class to ever come through JC in the last 5 years? Where are they at? OH yeah limping along at 4-5 thats where... And this cowbell thing :thumb: wow ive never seen such ignorance. Now i could maybe see brigning a cowbell ringing it, by all means yes bring something that makes noise thats not my concern... But CowBell nation? Are you serious? And having a banner for this. And coming from adults too i think it absolutely hilarious and if i were a player on this team i would be embarrassed :thumb: This is just anohter example of division in this program and it seems to me that there are more than a few of them. Its called be apart of PATRIOT NATION. There are to many groups within the fans and players and this program will never reach the success it once did EVER. There is no one heartbeat with this team. I bleieve thats the moto for you guys right? Well this team obviously doesnt have that. Nor the fans. 4-5 going into the last game, playing one of the worst teams in the state, south doyle at 0-9 yes JC will win it wont mean anything but their coaches and some fans who like decieving themselves into thinking something has been accomplished this season will think they have accomplished something by finsihing 5-5 probably. Reality check for all of you all. COMBINED RECORD OF OPPONENTS WHO THOSE 5 WINS COME AGAINST: 13-23 :thumb: yeah thats impressive right there. There is no traditon, no passion left in this program like it once was. Its sad to see. JC has not made any turn around since Scott Meadows left and i dont believe it will ever come back to the dominance it used to be. They let Scott get out of their hands and he is by far the best coach JC has had compared to the last two. I would have loved to see what he could have done with the talents of this team. Its honestly sad to see. Goodluck against south doyle as if it even you even need it playing a team at 0-9 and goodluck to the seniors who are playing their last game, especially the ones who have been there for 4 years and stuck it out even through the controversey with Euvarard. It is always a sad night for seniors of any team knowing they are playing there last game

Wow. Woke up on the wrong side of the bed , did you? So much negativity......You are totally whacked out crazy about Scott Meadows cause everyone knows that he has as much loyalty to a program as Saban! And to diss this JCHS team is pure mean and unfair. They have worked hard all year and fought their hearts out. Coming back from 0-4 is amazing and they gave the two top teams in the conference a fight! Why don't you go hang out with Meadows...He will kick you to the side soon!

Not quite. I wake up and touch with reality unlike you and some others. Wow coming back from 0-4 is amazing? Come on lets be real please. You came back from 0-4 by beating teams that are simply sub par.East is the only real win of your guys season. In all due respect i cant stand the fact that some people like to just act as if everything is good and dandy. Well wake up and see reality. This has not been a successfull season and neither was last season. Another note...This district with sevier, west, east, jc, seymour, cherokee, cocke, and south doyle happened to be one of the easier districts throughout the state of tennessee.

hmmm.... reality check?? wake up!! ya this season has been a disappointment by large, but this team has grown so much. We started 0-4. lost to Greeneville, Bearden, Severville, and William Blount. One of those teams are undefeated in 6A Football and we had them! Greeneville and Bearden are good teams!

They are all going to the playoffs i do beleive! Although im not to sure about William Blount. Then we started rollin. Beat Seymour, Cocke County, and Cherokee. Lost to West in a "mudfight" and just had a dramatic win over East. If you went to any of our games you would see how much this team has grown and over come adversity. And we still have a shot at a possible Wild Card once we take care of buisness Friday night! Stop with the Negativity!!! Come behind this Team!! Were close!!! Stop with this aragrance!!!
