You listed some teams we didn't want in our quad, then went into a rant about some post where you reseeded to make you happy. You go back and look it up. It's there.

And you would be right, and on my point. There has been many, many posts. Too many, the only way to know objectively....is to play the game. Opinion has nothing to do with it.

I agree, they have competed well. But their record in these 4 years of varsity is: 5-6, 1-9, 10-1, and 8-2. No playoff wins yet. I was said earlier that Arlington was scared to play Oakland, and that middle TN teams can't get games with the West. Actually, it was I think the coach, "laughed, because of Oakland's success". So it was implied fear. All I'm saying is if the middle really wanted to schedule a top Memphis team, I'm sure there are some willing to line it up, and Arlington maybe one of them, I don't know.

Hey..where did I say that the middle was not good? Where? Actually, I said they have great programs. But statistically, the system is skewed to the middle. There is no getting around that. Probability does not work like that. It could run at 100% or 1%. Just because the numbers crunch a certain way, does not mean, it will play out to numbers in real life. Odds are it will, but it is NOT guarranteed. Flip a coin 50 times, in ten sets and record it. Some them will be about 50/50, but others can be very onesided. Now imagine a cube with "only" 4 sides,2 sides are middle, 1 east and the other west, roll it. What is the odds of the middle showing up? 2 in 1, but this doesn't mean that streaks can't happen. Each result has no bearing on next and so on. The odds never change.

I have answered all of these, multiple times and you still turn around and try to rephrase it all over again. I never said that the "conversation" did not happen...you know this, if you actually read what I post. I don't know if it did or not. But you failed to answer, why a great successful team like Oakland, would pick a team that has been playing varsity football for 4 YEARS, who has NO playoff wins. Why not Whitehaven, Whitestation, MUS, G'town, Millington, CBHS...etc? If they really want a game, I believe one these teams would play them. You have implied middle tn teams are the better than everyone else, with a considerable amount of arrogance, I might add. The middle does have an advantage. You cry because you have just SOME of your teams in the same Quad...How would you feel about all of them in the Quad?(meaning all of middle TN) How many middle vs. middle games would you have then? You need to go back and actually reread your posts and my replies. I think you have been missing or forgetting some or parts of them.

It takes more numbers for football, therefore bigger schools traditionaly fair better, no not always, but most of the time. Where are the most big schools? In the middle 2 quads. Logical, not 100%, but logical.

What is wrong here??? You think that the number of teams from different areas, the old system that split east vs west, and the new system has no bearing at all on the results? I am sorry, but I cannot agree with you on that assumption. The old system still had West and East playing middle. The "middle" was in both brackets, the east and west were not, and still are not. The middle has a huge advantage of getting to the semis, because they are in both brackets (old) and in 2 of 4 (new). This is an advantage, admit it or not, but the very fact that the WEST or EAST has to eliminate to 1 team to be at the semis is a disadvantage. It is possible that the 2 or more best teams are/were not in the middle? The way the system is/has been set, it is impossible for the East or West to advance more than 1 team to the semis. Advantage middle. Also, this discussion has been going on for days. Looking at the last few posts will not tell the story. Nor am I going to try and take on the whole middle TN booster club. More than 50% of the teams and in 2 of 4 quads, and others have to eliminate to one to play "middle"...this IS an advantage for the middle.

He did, it is alot of reading, but he implied that D7, was no doubt the strongest all the time and that no one else really had a chance, that no one..no that people (specifically West TN and Arlington) are scared to play them and they have to go Kentucky to fill their schedule. I would say that sums up...unbeatable. There was more, but this is silly. He knows my points have been made and instead of being up front and admitting it, he resorts to "taking his ball and going home".

This is my "true" answer. Polls, rankings and other fluff is opinion, not fact. For the purpose of seeding, how can you use a poll to say teams that never played each other are better or worse than the other...you can't. The playoff system is flawed, in the fact that EAST and WEST have to eliminate each other every year, BEFORE playing the middle "2"(a VERY IMPORTANT NUMBER TO NOTICE RANDY)bracket winners. Furthermore, (randy, that means there is more, keep reading)it is easy to see that the system is skewed to the middle. As Randy stated earlier and I quote "many years it has been middle vs. middle". How can it ever be EAST vs EAst or WEST vs. WEST? It can't, it is virtually impossible. This IS a contributing factor to the champion's list...now, now, I did NOT say it is the only reason for the middle winning more titles, I'm sure you can see the math here. I understand you think it is unfair to have to play your teams, but how is it not unfair to other quads to assume they could not compete in your Quad? I mean do we know for a fact, that in any given year, any top team in D7 would dominate other districts? No, no we don't. The only fair way is 2 brackets 16 each, line it up where at least most teams play a different area opponent.

You did state your opinion as fact. You said and implied your teams were unbeatable. Use logic and read yourself. Start with your post above. But they can adopt logic and math to realize the 4 quad system favors dramatically the middle of the state. They should use 2 brackets to even it out.

The obvious thing here is you use opinion to draw conclusions. You are not interested in fairness. Really they should send the bottom 4 of each bracket to the next quad 1-2 and 3-4. But they won't, because it is too logical.

So your saying....that the middle part of the state, who has 50% or more of the teams in the playoffs and 2 quads, have won more? IT is surprising that they have not won all of them. Every year they have 2 chances. East and West have to eliminate each other TO PLAY the middle 2 brackets. The middle is basically guarranteed a finalist every year.

Assuming it is factual and may be, let's evaluate both of yours' statements. 1)Oakland, a strong program within the unbeatable, bestest district, wants to play a West Tn team to prove their greatness. So who do they pick? Whitehaven, Whitestation, Germantown, Ridgeway, Millington, CBHs, Briarcrest, MUS...no.. Arlington. The program that has played varsity football for 4 YEARS. Let's look at their record in those 4 years: 5-6, 1-9, 10-1, 8-2. No playoff wins. WHAT?........."CRICKETS" 2)Now lets address the schedule. If you are scheduling, you typically have 2 year agreements, right? LOOK BACK 2 YEARS AGO. What would you have done? So Arlington gets on a unexpected roll...I mean who would think a 1-9 team playing the SAME schedule the next year would go 10-0 in the regular season? 3) Respect..is earned. We haven't earned it, yet. Maybe we won't. Last year, just like this discussion, people would not even concede that Arlington had a chance in the last 4 games of the year. As they won each one of those games, "people" became bitter that this team turned it around. (Also some resent Arlington's team because it is a new school and they wanted one or the funds. Rooting against kids, because they go to a new school...nice touch.)Then the week before the playoffs, we get all these people screaming Wil Co. is unbeatable, they will destroy any team in West TN. So this has been going on for a while. I do believe the middle has great football teams. I never said, not once, that they are not great teams. I did say and continue believe they are NOT unbeatable titans of football, that the west has great competition as well, that the polls are bias, and that the power rankings are a year behind and subjective. Unless teams play each other..how do you know for a FACT? You don't assume since so and so was great they are again THIS year. I mean that IS why we play the games...to get a result...a fact, right? Your right Arlington is scared. I mean, look at the beating they took 2 years ago..look at it. Do you two really believe that the staff is scared to get beat bad...really..laid up in the middle of night worried to death to lose a football game to a storied opponent??? It wasn't fear of getting beat, I don't know why it was, but fear makes no sense. Good luck to both of your teams. Oh and I forgot to mention that Whitehaven lost to Melrose last year 27-6, so based on the "Undeniable Greatness Theory", I say they(a 5A school, I think) would have won the title in 6a as well.

"Randy" This whole discussion, rant if you will, started from Randy and gang assuming that without a doubt they have, undeniably, the absolute best football teams in the state. Furthermore, that the whole playoff system needs to be revamped, because their teams are so good that all of them should win the title and they should not have to eliminate each other. I tried to use logic to point out this is opinion/ subjective..."crickets". Then was just attacked and given more, more fluff. Last try: In looking at last years' playoffs, Whitehaven lost 21-16 to Whitestation the week before beating Brentwood 31-27. Now looking at that result, I have to assume Whitehaven could have beaten Brentwood as well. So if I think like Randy, I should be proclaiming Whitehaven could have won the title as well, and that west Tn should not have to eliminate each other, because we are the best in the whole world.

The only fair and objective way to do this, would be to seed the state as a whole, and forget geography. That is not happening. The sillyness, I could't help, but you're stone cold sold that every year your district is the best and every one else is trash. What about before the last 8? 20? 40? Whatever? The result that is most revalent is the most recent result. Classes graduate, teams change. I will be rooting for your Dickson County team though, I hope yall give that ridicilous guy over there a game to remember, although they are pretty good inspite of him. I hear, he refuses to trade with coaches better than him. I guess he is scared they will break him down....no class.

"OK OK, a certain 8-2 6A football team was called and asked about scheduling a home and home (yes, this means that Oakland would travel to Memphis, for a return game in Murfreesboro) and they were laughed at at the very idea they would think about playing a team the caliber of Oakland. You can believe it or not but it's the truth. It has happened several times across the state actually." How do these guys get games scheduled? I mean no one wants to play them. Do they blackmail people, beg...say pretty please. The games must be short, because the way you are describing them, people are running from the field and stands during warmups. I feel sorry for them.. so good no one will play them...dang..life just isn't fair.

So you say it is tougher, is that a fact or is it an opinion? How many teams from the west have they played? And to the Whitehaven question, how many teams were in the tournment? How many of those teams lost to the runner up? Who won the title? Oh so it is some how tainted because Whitestation didn't play in your district? Oh, that's right it is the awesomeness district... yep..logical.
