  1. I'd like to say I am pleased with the way such a competitive district ended up. First, congrats to a Ravenwood team who fought hard and stayed quiet all year. Head Coach Chad Kirby is admirable for his emphasis on team ball. Contrary to their many critics I do believe they have the talent to go far and wish them the best of luck. This is a team that has constantly proven themselves and does not feel the need to talk about their accomplishments. Because of this I am happy to call you the one-seed out of my district. Second, I'd like to speak about a talented Independence team. While many see Indy's skid in the tournament as embarrassing, just remember they took care of business early and live to see another day. With their "top two" they should have high hopes, and I have no doubt they can achieve them. I'd just like to see them talk with their actions a little more. There is no reason for them to rag on Franklin like they did. Don't put a target on your back for the wrong reason. Last but certainly not least, great job Franklin. After such a shaky start it is great they could end the season in the title game. Throughout the year I never saw any disrespect out of these young men, and when it is time for everyone to step away from baseball, this kind of behavior will take anyone far. To Coach Glover: While the season had its ups and downs, there was success at the end. And even though some of the things I heard were questionable, I admire the commitment to a plan and a commitment to bettering your players. Great year again for 11AAA. Best of luck to Ravenwood and Independence.
  2. Im gonna have to disagree with that one. I watched the kid play this summer with the Franklin Outlaws i believe.. and he was nothing special at all. He's good, and he knows the game. He's just not a standout player. And he does not have that good of stick I would have to disagree with you. I obviously gave my opinion on this kid before. He always knows what to do and makes some plays behind the plate that really make you wonder how much upside he has. He's big and athletic, just like Brentwood's Ryan Shelton. Seeing these two on the same field will be a lot of fun to watch.
  3. Like to say I get excited thinking about a player like Ethan Bennett and the future in store for him. Has the physical tools to succeed at the next level even at UT and obviously plays at a place that will give him tons of looks. Shelton from Brentwood and Kukowski from cross-town Ravenwood are simillar cases defensively. Both are large, physical kids with big arms. While one could argue that Kukowski might move better, on the high school level the edge has to go to Shelton because of his offensive skills. All three will be fun to watch in the upcoming season.
  4. Baseballfanman I like your picks and input from the Rutherford county side of things. I would have to say your list is a little large as well. Seems a little bias toward the Segiel side of things. Would like to say Tyler Fulerton's speed and versatility gives him tremendous upside. The Blackman two are very good hitters and Weil's size is impressive.
  5. Pretty strong list right there. A little too broad for me but some nice contributions. One kid that definately has a very live arm is Cody Hartley from Nashville Christian. Got to see him when I watched the Franklin Outlaws play. Also the two starters from Independence have a lot of talent, and the Lee kid's swing is one of the better ones I've seen.
  6. Basbeall in the Mid State looks very strong this year due to a great group of talent in the class of 2010. Everyone is familliar with those names. How bout the juniors ready to make an impact for their teams? Let's here about some different names too. Maybe some sleepers.
