  1. Great game tonight by both teams! Congrats to Tullahoma your team played well. I would also like to Congratulate the LCHS players and coaches on another great season! The LCHS team is a class act and I am very proud of you. I thought yall left everything on the field tonight and the coaches did a good job of giving the boys the best opportunity to win the game. In the end T'town just had to many weapons. We just need to take the weekend off and start getting ready for another great season next year! :thumb:

  2. OK people please listen! I have just talked with the TSSAA and I would like to say that both arguements are correct. The TSSAA did not define the rule correctly. The way the TSSAA has the handbook written then Bradley Central would be the 5AAA champs but in reality Cleveland is indeed your champs. The TSSAA representative I spoke with said they would look at the wording of the tie breaker rule and make any changes they needed to be made to ensure this confusion was taken care of. I really don't have a dog in this race but this arguement got me curious and I just had to call and find out the answer. I can see both arguements and I for one thought Bradley Central was the champs until I talked to the TSSAA. I do hope this answer will settle this confusion and we can move on to what this post was supposed to be about, how this game between Lawrence County and Cleveland turns out! If my answer does not satisfy everyone, here is the TSSAA number to call: 615-889-6740. Sometimes you get a recording and sometimes you actually get to talk with a real person. I think there must be a few fans and coaches calling in the tell them what a great job they did this year with the playoffs!! :roflol:

  3. Do you all not realize that Bleedingblue is on the paid legal team for Clevland High? They defend anything from illegal players to arguing with the TSSAA. Watch who you are messing with. If you keep telling them they aren't the champs they might have to call in a paralegal. Pretty strange that the district champ has a four hour bus ride facing them

We have heard about all the "legal transfers" and players changing uniforms during the game. Sad to hear but we will be keeping our eyes open in Lawrence County friday night!!

  4. 5A - Quadrant 4

    1 Jackson Northside

    2 Ridgeway

    3 Craigmont

    4 Lawrence County

    5 Hardin County

    6 Mitchell

    7 Dyer County

    8 Melrose

5A Brackets would result as follows:

    Top Braket:

    1 JNS vs 8 Melrose @ JNS

4 Lawrence County vs 5 Hardin County @ LC

    Bottom Bracket:

    3 Craigmont vs 6 Mitchell @ Craigmont

2 Ridgeway vs Dyer County @ Ridgeway

Man .. Hardin County just recieved a beat down from LC this past Friday ... 28 - 7.

    6A - Quadrant 4

    1 Dickson County

    2 Whitehaven

    3 Brighton

    4 Arlington

    5 Collierville

    6 Wooddale

    7 Germantown

    8 White Station

6A Brackets would result as follows:

    Top Braket:

1 Dickson County vs 8 White Station @ DC

    4 Arlington vs 5 Collierville @ Arlington

    Bottom Bracket:

    3 Brighton vs 6 Wooddale @ Brighton

    2 Whitehaven vs 7 Germantown @ Whitehaven

If the playoffs started today, this is what we would have. Wow ... Whitehaven vs Germantown in the 1st round, just like last year, but this time it's at 'Da Haven'. This may change after the week 10 games. Double wow ... Sept. 10 rematch between Collierville and Arlington where Arlington won that game by 1 point ... 35 - 34.

    What do you guys think?

Looks about right except I honestly think Memphis East gets in and pushes Lawrence County out. If they win they pretty much will have the tie breaker with that win over that Mississippi school.

  5. In Quad 1... Sullivan South plays at Tennessee High this week... If South wins, would they get the 5 seed and TN High the #6?

That would be correct. SS would win the #2 tie breaker. I actually think Sullivan South wins this game but I gave Tennessee the edge since they were the home team.

  6. This is how I see things shaping up after everything is said and done. It looks to me like if the teams in Quad 3 doesn't kill each other then that Quad will again be where your state champion comes from! Let me know what you think..........

  7. "If at any point when the following tiebreaking procedures are applied, one team has beaten all the other teams that are tied for a play-off position, that team shall be rated above the others." (emphasis mine) That is the key statement.

And you're right, the district champion gets no special privileges in seeding, only the guarantee of a bid. The wild-card criteria are the only ones that matter in the seeding. This is a change from last year.

This statement is incorrect. The TSSAA plainly states the following "when the following tie breaking procedures are applied and one team has beaten all the others(by the tie breaking rules) then that team shall be rated above the others. It never once says anything about head to head. Therefore, the winner of the Tullahoma/Lawrence County game will be the District 8AAA champion. The way this playoff scenario works out, the first tie breaker would eliminate Lincoln County/Shelbyville winner and Tullahoma. That would then leave Lawrence County and Columbia tied. The next tie breaker would then be looked at. This would eliminate Columbia and therefore Lawrence County would be the "one team that has beaten all the other teams" that were tied. Not once does the TSSAA ever say anything about head to head. Not in the District standings and not in the playoff standings. Now this is only true if Marshall County loses to Giles County as was mentioned in the original post. If Marshall County wins then the two teams would still be tied and tie breaker 3 would be looked at. From what I can gather there would still be a tie if Lincoln County beats Shelbyville. If Shelbyville wins then Columbia would win the district. If not then tie breaker 4 comes into play. I have punched in the numbers and it appears that Columbia would then win the district in tie breaker 5 by one game. Of course there is still one more week of football and lots of numbers can change. The main thing is that head to head is not a factor in determining the district standings nor the playoff standings.

  8. So thats what it feels like to have your butt handed to you. JVB123 I think I could have run the ball behind yo boy tonight, would have been a little slower though. Lots of ?'s for the Bobcats going into next week, sure they will get worked on REAL hard. Good Luck to both teams. Go CATS BOB and WILD!!!

Dad, thanks for the nice words! It has been a while since LCHS has been on the winning side of the COWBELL game and it does feel great! Getting all our players back was a real plus and I thought we played a great game. I am sure both teams will do great the rest of the season and I look for both teams to make it deep into the playoffs. I realize it has been a while since the GCHS has tasted defeat and I must say they handled it with class. We needed this win much worse than yall did. What does it take to get a jersey retired over there in Giles County? Kind of surprised to see a #12 running around so soon! Brought back some pretty bad memories. Hope the sushi was great! :hungry:

  9. They have the upper hand based on the simple fact that their starters probably have more experience and playing time. And your right we've had ton's of atheletes come through Giles Co. and we've had some good coaches but they've got a coach and staff now that could and probably should be coaching on the next level.Despite the crappy field conditions(so they say)i like the atmosphere of the games at Law.Co.and like how they say an actual prayer before the game thats nothing but class.Good luck to both teams.

I will assure you the field is in great shape. The field does have a larger than normal crown but I am not sure that will play a great part in the final score. If my memory doesn't fail me, Giles countys field had a large crown before they refinished the stadium. How we sometimes forget. Lets PLAY SOME FOOTBALL!!!!!! And by the way, we say a prayer before every sporting event in Lawerence County. The football team also has a player lead a prayer after every practice. I think that is something that makes a team a winner no matter what the score ends up being!

  10. I liked the field behind Coffman. It was the field up behind the old armory that was so rough. It think it used to be a churt pit.I expect a good game just afraid Law.Co. has upper hand this year.I think the Bobcats are more atheletic but from what i saw last week seemed like the Bobcats got pushed around alot. But if you look at it Giles Co. has played or scrimmaged a team under 5A since the championship game so at least they are holding their own.

I hope your right about LCHS having an upper hand this year! I can't remember Giles County not having tons of athletes and since your new coach came I have only seen a very physical, well coached machine! I would say as long as you keep your coach that any team he fields will always hold their own and have a great chance of winning! Good luck to both teams and hopefully and injury free game!

  11. Massey Ratings has Giles winning 26-15. Giles teams in the past had trouble putting points on the board on the road. With columbia only putting up 21 could be a long night. Defense has always been stingy since the OC era. If LC has a passing game, things could get real interesting.

That darn Massey Ratings computer! It knows more about football than all my friends combined! :roflol: And much easier to talk to!

  12. Loretto didn't look to bad at all against Red Boiling Springs in the Columbia Jamboree. Got some big boys down Lorreto this year..... Loretto 20..... Red Boiling Springs 0.

Too bad the rest of the games got cancelled due to rain and lightning...... mTp never got a chance to even get warmed up........ Friendship Christian put up 7 on their first possession with a few runs, 2 passes, one of those passes a 20-30 yard TD down the sideline and mTp only got in a few offensive drives before the Ref's halted the game due to lighting. Game lasted about 10 minutes I guess, mTp never really got a chance to answer though they were moving the ball.....FC 7.... mTp 0

The Mustangs did look pretty good Friday night. Could this be the year

they are the best team in the county?

  13. I didn't know people from Giles Co. was this cool to be honest with you. Me and SB will send a message your way.

I will probably be sitting close to the dad with the son on the team with the hot sister so becareful what you say. Sounded like jiberish but I think you remember.

He is really not that cool and probably will not be in the same mood he is in tonight after the game. It could get ugly with or without any tumors!

  14. CoachT.......I am not sure this is the correct place to do this but after what was just posted I would like to thank you for getting the facts on this matter. No matter which way you look at this topic it gives both schools a black eye. I appreciate you posting the pictures of the LCHS students and making the statement about them be good kids because they are. They represent our school well and this pride they show trickles down from the administration at LCHS!!

  15. What's done is done! He said this and she said that. The sad truth is the players are paying the price for a bad decision. I for one am a little surprised with Andrews punishment. I figured a two game suspension and on to the tournament. That is what the coach got for his actions. Don't string me up for saying that, I am just saying what happened to SCHS's coach. Will we ever find out how the punishments were determined, the fines that were supposedly issued and wether this punishment was from the TSSAA or the school administration?

Note: If you do not like this site DAVE, LEAVE!!!

  16. BBALLROCKS, Sir you are studdering an awful lot. You have mentioned that many times. Number 1. you need to get that studdering checked out. Number 2. We could care less how people in Shelbyville feel. Number 3. Congratulations to Lawrence Co. and Tullahoma and Columbia and Franklin Co. and Lincoln Co. for great seasons.

dooleydaffy--good post...except the stuttering part i resent that lol

Some of the people are glad to hear that the parents of the young lady are convinced that the situation with the coach was not malicious. This meaning that there was no Intent.

It is also good to hear that the coach offered an apology even though it is apparent that there is enough blame to be shared by both schools.

Question is that if the parents can see that there was no intent can the people who accused the coach of assault and stated that he shoved a student to the floor be adult enough to offer that same apology to him?

    Wrong thread!!!!!!! Move on.

  17. Note to Tullahoma student section-

-Dont storm the court after a surprising win

    -Dont get too happy

-Stay in the bleachers, there is probably a reason your not meant to be on the court

-If you talk crap, and your on the court, expect it

-Don't act like LCHS, be mature

-Cheerleaders, get out of the way

Follow these guidelines and you should be safe ( :

It is sure sad that one must follow these strict guidelines to ensure safety!

  18. I personally think all of this could have been avoided if the floor hadn't been rushed. I know the students were very happy and I don't blame them they are kids. There was mass confusion and it all happened so quickly I don't know how anyone saw anything. It was just an ugly mess. I am not blaming LCHS, but I do think it contributed to the situation. There were so many people in front of the locker room there was NO WAY the guys could even get through. I know their emotions were very high afterwards and they didn't handle the situation right either. One thing that I do know is all of this he said she said arguing is only making a terrible situation much worse. And as far as Shelbyville fans not saying anything...why would we??? I mean we don't want to come across as whinning cry babies right??? As my grandmother used to say the more you stir _____ the more it stinks. And Kiffin I just got two words for you ROLL TIDE!!!

Very stupid SCHSMom! Why don't you say this would never have happened if you boys had played better and won the game this "never would have happened". Your team got beat and SCHS wanted to fight! Blame LCHS for getting in the way of the locker room and getting excited after a big win. Your coach, your players and your principal are to blame for this and the video will prove this! The coach should be fired and Andrews and a few more should be punished! It never ends over there, Twilley wanted to fight last year. Maybe this is a reflection of the coach and administration. We sure don't have fighting problems. Can wait till football

  19. Your right, the SRO did a great job??? I guess that is why like ten people told on him for taunting coach Thomas, and after the gym was pretty much cleared, two officers, the principal, our SRO officer, and the Super Intendant were in a heated argument with LC's SRO officer. And you would think if the guy had done such a great job he would have some other Lawrence County people over there with him backing him up. But guess what, there were 0 LC people backing him up. I saw it going on, so don't tell me i'm wrong about this.

Hey ! Your wrong about this !

First, Everyone was told to leave the gym and that is exactly what everyone from LCHS was doing. We did not stick around to argue with SCHS people. The principal you are talking about is the one I heard say "white trash from Lawrence County". Now why would anyone want to stick around and argue with an idiot coach and a principal like that??

  20. i think its awesome how you have an all american who cant take the fans, coaches that push little girls down, and fans that think theyre sports writers. it looks like everybody needs to pick up and move to the greatest place on earth, shelbyville. your downing LCHS's administration? yall just had an opposing school student section storm your court? dont think any school in tennessee would let that happen. A coach (GROWN MAN) getting T'd up twice, attacking a cheerleader, and not being able to control his players. sounds like SCHS is the one with the administration problems. Andrews is an over-rated thug who cant take the heat in a high school basketball game. sounds like he has a long career ahead of him. sorry to bust your bubble but mr. 5'9 140lb stud isnt god. you think hed learn how to take a punch in the hood!

If KT got T-ed up twice, he wouldn't have been walking off the court with his team after the games. 2 T's is an ejection

Randy...........KT got 2 technicals!! He got one after the game! The truth will come out.

  21. This "storming the court" issue is way off line. I was there and all I saw was the students go in the corner of the court and was celebrating by jumping around with the cheerleaders. I am not sure that qualifies as storming the court. Did the coach push the cheeleader, I am not positive but I know the SRO officer did confront him about something and I saw a cheeleader crying. I also saw Andrews dart

into the students along with other team members, that is a fact! As far as S'town and Loretto games not being played, it is because both these schools are 1A schools and LCHS is 3A. Does SCHS play Cascade or Community? Sore losers and bad sportsmanship from the eagles is what I saw!!
