  1. Rankin did not say that I agree he did not say that. Can't get here fast enough! Sorry, You are right it was your best player Toney that said that, We will Welcome Him and all of Alcoa Home. They have never seen a team or place like this. http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2009/nov/2 ... artner=RSS
  2. An F5 Tornado spits and sputters has played out faster than a first time back seat romp, but a CAT 5 Cyclone will last all night......
  3. Obviously you were not at that game. All Betsy players started the game and were injured during the game. The only difference maker would have been the W/R who is also the kicker. They had a 44 yrd field goal at the end of the game for the win. However, to expect a HS player to routinely make 44 yrd feild goals with 10 seconds on the clock for the win is unrealistic. The back up QB actually gave CAK more trouble than the starter due to his ability to accurately throw. Everyone knew CAK's weakness on defense was the pass defense. Wth the exception of #23, they were exposed. To say that Betsy QB ks the most athletic, #2 @ CAK was very athletic and an excellent runner. Bottom line, Betsy had a chance to show how good they were #6 rank vs #5 rank at home and couldn't get it done ! I do believe Betsy is as good as CAK and Loudon, but to dismiss Betsy's loss as a fluke due to injuries is disrespectfull. I would invite Betsy to join the district with CAK,Loudon, and Alcoa and see how well they do. It takes its toll on you year after year knowing you may win a state championship if you could just get out of your district. Alcoa has made both teams get better but they are not at Alcoa's level yet nor is Betsy. No one on Betsy team is like Toney, or Robinson. May be best 2 3a players in the state. Keep talking trash and disrespecting the toughest district in 3a, and come live in their shoes for a season. Poor old Elizabethton, they never had to play those big bad 3A teams. They only have had to play 6A teams like DB, the largest school in the state, the Science Hills, the Tennessee High teams, the Greeneville teams and always played them well. Those teams could never match up with your district 3A teams. You know our kids have never heard much about the Maryvilles and the Alcoas they just hear about their next game. These kids have played together since they were in the first grade, and are not a bunch of wagon jumpers that flock to Alcoa from Knoxville. They will play their hearts out for each other best friends on and off the field. Coach Witten will have them ready and with a few tricks he learned from Beamer Ball. They know how to play the game and have as much tallent as any team in the state. So go ahead and book your rooms at Cookville, but be sure you can get a refund.
  4. The Alcoa Coach said, "The road is home to us, any playoff game is home to us." Let see how at home Alcoa feels in front of 6000 Cyclone fans.... Welcome Home.
  5. There you go again, poor little Elizabethton they don't match up with the d-line of Alcoa. Elizabethton has one of the fastest d-lines in Tennessee, most of the score on the Cyclones came in the 4th where unlike most TN coaches Coach Witten was playing the JV and freshman kids. Coach Stan Ogg will have the Alcoa Team crazy with his D. They will stop the run first and force Alcoa to pass, then lookout just like CAK and AE. No team in TN has more picks than Elizabethton.
  6. At least I'm smart enough to recognize sarcasm Dont give someone a reason to beat you, like i said early in the week dont let your mouth write a check your butt cant cash. The players will decide the game not fans and parents, too many people live in the past this is a big game for EHS they have a chance to prove a point and i know they will. I guess that check did not bounce like AE was bounced from the playoffs. AE has never seen overall team speed like Elizabethton, Our D-Line was faster than the AE backs. They would not have scored but for Elizabethton giving then 45 yards in penilties. 95 yard TD run up the middle. that Magnum PI can fly. Alcoa has paid for their hotel rooms in Cookville already. Poor Elizabethton, they don't stand a chance against a Knoxville team... Somebody needs to tell them that.
  7. Elizavethton will win by The same score of the EHS-Happy Valley game.
  8. Im sure in my younger days i said and done some dum things but i know nothing i've ever said was as dum or stupid as your last comments At least I'm smart enough to recognize sarcasm
  9. I just checked the T$$AA site and can you believe they still have this game being played? Haven't they looked at the matchup. Why is a Knoxville team having to go to upper East Tennessee to play a team there. Don't they know AE has to play Alcoa next week and does not have time for such mess? Maybe the game will be stopped in the first quarter and let them get back to Knoxville where real football is played not that sissy game played in Upper East Tennessee. I just hope T$$AA sees the error of there ways in that no one can stop the speed of AE they are faster than Obama with a checkbook.
  10. """That 6-6 team A-E lost to is Catholic, who is one of the two most impressive football teams Ive seen this year"""" What about those other 6 teams that beat them? Elizabethton is going to lose big time because they are not from Knoxville and thats all there is to it. Teams from around here can never beat a Knoxville Team no matter if teams that are 6-6 beat A-E, those were Knoxville teams. Even if Johnson County was only down to them 13-7 at the half. Poor Elizabethton Seniors your are going down to a bunch of Flash Gorden Sophmores from Knoxville, best be getting ready for basketball.
  11. Here is the speed Elizabethton does not have. Find the hold on this play. It was Asheville holding their jocks.
  12. Averaging 55 points against South Greene, West Greene, Cumberland Gap, Chuckey-Doak, and Grainger has helped their ppg average. Austin-East seems to be more run oriented than Greeneville. Throughout the season, Austin-East has developed an offensive scheme that is very hard to defend. The only thing that was missing midway through the season was the ability to get timely pass completions, but they have improved on that too. I don't see Elizabethton shutting down Austin-East's run game. Austin-East will score more than 14 points on betsy. A-E has lost to teams that were 6-6, 8-4, and 9-2, Elizabethton lost to two 10 win teams by 8 total points, had chances to win them both. Those mistakes helped bulid something AE does not have yet, maybe next year they will be the team, this year belongs to Cyclones, RTD.
  13. Elizabethton will pull out all the stops against AE, Johnson County was only down 14-7 at the half and EHS in no Johnson County. Most of the senior kids have played together for 9 years and 10 years, there is no quit in them. I hope AE thinks about passing. EHS has the best pass D in the state. The CAK game showed that. The EHS D line is also fast and will string AE so far outside the sideline will be the 12th man. The first time one cuts up and is hit like EHS d-backs hit, they will think they were playing a team of Eric Berry's. It's going to be a great game but look for the score to be about the same as the Happy Valley Score.
