Hampton doesn't apply to your "too afraid to play Eliz" comment... We've scheduled DC, GP and others just to get games. Scrimmaged TH and others just to get practice.

Fact: Been times, in recent past, that Eliz couldn't get their schedule to work out to play us in FB...And it was Eliz that backed out of playing us in basketball and haven't scheduled us since '15.

With that said, I have no ill will towards Eliz and most in my neck of the woods don't either. Ive heard rumors about comments made by coaches concerning our facilities, uniforms, etc but In '16, Witten was very good to one of my boys leading up to the East-West game, and that told me alot about his character...BTW, Did you see the number of Hampton players there supporting Eliz last night? Sure didn't see that kind of support when Hampton played in the semis a few years ago. But now, just like then, I couldn't care less! There's bigger things to be concerned with in this life...fear of Elizabethton ain't one of em.

Maupin has been at church and seems to be a good young man. I know Colby is as his family has been close friends for years; Parker is close to us also. The Streseman family; very close friends and Carson is a BEAST and fun to watch! So, I wish the best for these young men and the young men they have chosen to play with. Elizabethton has the pieces and hope they play well and stay healthy!

    (423) 547-8015 EHS phone number Coach Holt will schedule any time..

etown be worst team in carter county if they had to play with their own in all sports how much exposure would they get then

Ha, ha, ha what a cry baby...is your son not able to get a starting job at Elizabethton...kids come to TAD in the 6th grade and county schools say...look recruitment...almost every kid on Elizabethton played middle school ball in Elizabethton...Maupins family was from Elizabethton and DB didn't think he was good enough to start there..so you can't blame the coaches..for that..if you really want to be the best you have to beat the best...heck Hampton, HV, or any other county school won't even play a JV game against Elizabethton..much less a varsity...Elizabethton has to got go to VA and NC just to find someone not afraid to scrimmage them...

  3. Good teams should be turned lose to score as many points as they can, its the only way to get better is to play teams better then you. Young teams like JC and North I'm sure were embarrassed by EHS and that will do ether one of two things, they will be motivated to hit the gym so that does not happen again or just reside to cost and get use to thumpings. I was at both games and it was the younger girls that don't play as much playing and their shots were falling. So you tell then not to shoot when they work into an open shot? Just think all year the younger ones have watched from the bench and are pounded on by the seniors every day at practice for several years, and when they get their chance to play, you let them play. Score be darned.

  4. Elizabethton has only lost 1 game in 2 years and has 5 seniors that have played in the boro all 4 years, a 6' 4' UT prospect, 2 forwards ETSU comits, one of them a 2 time Miss basketball selection with one trophy and should receive another one this season. The two guards will also play ball at the next level somewhere and are still entertaining offers. They have one gold ball and have a great chance to get another one. They won't make the same mistake they did last year.

  5. Elizabethton destroyed Greeneville the other night who was supposed to have one of their better teams. They have last year's Mrs Basketball back this year along with her twin sister. Only losing 2 players from last year's team, I see no one stopping them from getting back to the Boro this year. Maybe they will get their flu shot this year.

  6. Looking forward to seeing the new stadium! If someone could post address that would be great.

So are the concessions pretty solid or should we eat before arrival? A good grilled burger is fine with me.

CAK is definitely heavily pass oriented on offense. What is the Betsy offense like this year? I know in years past it was pretty balanced. That way this year? Who are the playmakers to keep an eye out for?

They are very balanced this year, they have one of the best receivers in the state in #5. Big OLine, and a stable of 5 or 6 fast running backs. Big D line and bone jarring LB's. They only have 9 senior's on the team and one senior and one of the best backs was injured in a boating accident preseason and has not played a down.

They will show up and they have the biggest heart of any team I've ever seen. GO CYCLONES
