that former Pearl RB has done a great job gettin the Eagles back to Finley for that 3rd attempt in a row at the Gold Ball....but that spread no huddle offense ant gonna be a 3rd time is a charm story line.....this book gonna read just like last season.....actually Booger thinkin its gonna read more like the '21 Gold Ball contest...EN better find bout 6 more trips across the goal line than the 2 Alcoa will give them if they want to creat the upsets of all upsets

..the Tinheads of Aluminum City and their diehard radical followin of Goons are goin to put a minimum 40 pts on that Finley scorin board Friday.....its gonna be chilly rainin and that eagle offense want function well in it.....advantage Aluminum Citys poundin run game...

The GOAT of all high school football has move on from Aluminum City to collect Gold Balls at the Swamps of Boyd Buchannan.....and Alcoa and the Goons still collect what Booger thinkin is 20th Gold Ball and 9th in a row.....

    thats a Booger Pickin :thumb:

I would not cite the play calling for the two D1 receivers not getting the ball enough.  Alcoa can match elite D1 talent and worked on just that all week, checking up receivers at the line of scrimmage, well before they get into their routes, and over the top coverage from the safeties. Hence, the multiple interceptions, uncharacteristic of QB, Hammonds. It was not the Coaches throwing the ball. Plus, the defense put pressure and hurried Hammonds all game.

On defense, GP picked their poison.  They elected to load the box and slow down Alcoa’s run game. This gave Alcoa pretty easy throws to move the ball. GP, never adjusted.  I probably wouldn't have either. It was the responsibility of GP's D1 talent in the secondary to cover Alcoa Recivers and Tightend. That's tough, with Alcoa having D1 players also.

The GP game broadcast announcers were under the delusion that Alcoa was down and not a typical Alcoa team based on their comments before the game?? Not sure where they got that, but, if the Coaches and Players thought the same, I guess they were a bit shocked? B)

Spot on! :thumb: When you have your kids believing that you’re playing a lesser team from day one, along with a VERY WEAK schedule, you shouldn’t be surprised to get it handed to you. Then you have a player (Ga transfer) quitting mid game. With the broadcasters making their statements, it sounds like more than just the players drank the Kool-aid…Getting a nice Region 1 Champ banner to hang in the gym sure sounds nice, but in the end it ABSOLUTELY did GP no favors. Good luck next year! :flower:

Nix calling the dogs off at 24-0 was a very nice gesture. If he had kept his foot on the gas for 4 quarters, that whole stadium would have imploded…8-)

I'm sure it's just an old internet rumor and nothing REMOTELY close to true, but doesn't Alcoa have an enrollment cap? Yanno, to kind of, uh, remain 3A?

The city of Alcoa is growing. If you move into the city, you go to Alcoa. So, your enrollment cap idea is laughable….

Ok not sure what you mean about the all except 2 comment, I just enjoy good popcorn......see you Friday!

We got two transfers from last year. One of them came from IMG the other played at AMS and transferred out in 9th grade. Decided to come back to Alcoa for his senior year….

Popcorn is good. Fresh kettle corn is better! :thumb:

21 State Championships, boy that is impressive. 8 in a row too, man that is great.......Yall must grow them right over there in Alcoa. :popcorneater:

Much appreciated. Alcoa continues to break their own records. :thumb: Yup, actually they do. We do occasionally get a transfer or two. Just like about every other school in the state of TN…:popcorneater:

I'm just going by my eye test on the teams we've seen so far. I think g-p is the second best team we have seen this year..all other teams are really good as well and deserving. Just my opinion.

After reviewing the Jackets out of region schedule, I will agree that GP is probably the second best team they have played. :thumb: Kinda difficult to 100% agree because of GPs schedule…Comparing the best to second best is another question. One thing is guaranteed. We are gonna find out Friday night…:hungry:

IMO, Alcoa needs to change the game plan to a Physical Run based, Clock control game. Pound the rock for 4 quarters.

A bunch of #12, #7, #5, and #33 running the ball. Run the ball til GP has to put all in to stop it. Then and only then lob it to #44, #0, and #4. Short 4-5 yard passes. Same game plan as the West Game. Full dose of #7! :thumb:

I think this is exactly what we will see. Unless the staff decides to change it up at the last minute……

Is this game at g-p? If so why when both teams have a loss.

Quarter flips every year. If both teams are same seed, they host. GP found a way to get this game at home every other year. Can’t knock it, was a good move for them…:thumb:

Good game, yes! State championship, NO!

Cannon (RB/LB) didn’t take a snap during our game with Kingston or Chucky. Looked back to normal Friday night. He will be a HUGE factor moving forward….:thumb:

How good are you guys at stopping the run? Kingston had almost 400 yards rushing friday night. To only 7 yards passing I believe. If you shut the run down its over.

Kingston should be able to run, but will need a little bit of a passing game to keep their LBs honest…Pressure the QB and limit their big plays…:thumb:
