So then what it sounds like is that the team that you were originally supposed to play backed out, and then your coach(s) told all the JV and freshman players and parents, or whatever you are that they were going to play Bearden even though our freshman and JV schedule is completely filled and we can't add on any more games. When he found out, he told the team that we backed out, which is not the case, we just didn’t have any open slots.… shame on the original team that backed out, of course, but shame on the Alcoa coach’s for giving the players false hope.

Bearden was first scheduled on the week of 8/21 to play Alcoa on Monday 8/28 @ 6:00, they cancelled. They rescheduled the game on the week of 9/25 to be played on Monday 10/9 and cancelled… I have the schedules for both weeks in my hand if you’d like to see a copy of them…Good luck with the remainder of your schedule…

I worded it wrong. TSSAA requires both coaches to agree as you stated. BUT, the host Superintendent can call a game for "safety reasons" And over-ride coaches decision. That's who made the call at Greeneville. His reason he did not want kids out after 12:00.  Alcoa agreed to travel at their expense Friday or Saturday. Alcoa would LOVED to finish that game.

Thanks for clearing that up BC! :thumb:

No sir!  Jody had nothing to do with that decision , you all ran from them .  They tried yearly.  However, once that group left you all finally had an opening on the schedule ….. let’s make a post about this since I’m wrong …

Yes, you are wrong. At least you’re consistent. I can’t remember the last thing you got right when Alcoa is involved. Haters gonna hate. Keep picking against us. I like it! Good luck to AE. As bad as y’all are, I still enjoy reading your irrational posts.

    That is the TSSAA rule

:thumb: When the school director stepped in and said we are playing tonight, our hands were tied. It was my understanding that when it got to that point, it was ruled a no contest. Alcoa wanting to stay till it’s completed and Greeneville didnt, still speaks volumes…

Alcoa have no room talking about running from teams because when Fulton  was dominating they called Alcoa every year to play but you all made up every excuse not to play.  Then once that group left, you all finally signed on the dotted line .  hahahaha.

Wrong again! That was completely on Jody Wright. Nice try tho! :thumb:

hardly means anything is my point.  they also barely beat mo west...

Greeneville had two 3 and outs. Their D line was gassed and Alcoa had the ball 1st and 10 at the Devil 29 yard line with 2:36 left in half… I liked our chances. Alcoa Also would have received the ball to start the 3rd…Unfortunately, we will never know the outcome. But the fact is, Alcoa would have stayed till 2:00 if that’s what it took and we were the ones with a two hour ride home…:thumb:

It was early. Both teams had to agree to cancel it or it would count as a forfeit. Why Jeff vs DB kicked off at 10pm

Incorrect. Both teams did not agree to cancel. Alcoa was prepared to stay as long as it took, but Greeneville school administrator stepped in and said they were not going to play that night….

I watched them in a scrimmage against JC. Their QB play was awful and they had no running game

They definitely have some things to work on offensively, as do we. However, I still think they are the team to beat in 5A. If I’m proven wrong, I’ll be the first one on here to admit it. We shall see….:thumb:

  9. Congrats to the Tornadoes! Shout out to coach Nix and the rest of the staff for another great season. Many more to come! Well done! A special congrats to MVP QB Zach Lunsford! Well deserved! Gonna miss the seniors! Awesome way to go out!

Congrats to EN. Very impressive performance today! Thanks for a great game!

Safe travels to everyone headed home!

    Go Tornadoes!!!

I was one of the ones who stated it during the preseason.  Alcoa will be favored but it will not be a cake walk like it was a year ago.  Giles County is a handful at home and I am sure The Brickyard will be rocking on Friday night.  I am thinking that this is the game that I will attend this week.  David O'Connor & Co. will not just be "shell shocked" like they were last year when the teams met in Blount County.

    Alcoa:  42

    Giles County:  21

You call it “shell shocked”. I call it “getting beat by a much better team”. There wasn’t one position on the field where Giles had the upper hand and it showed. Glad Giles has earned the opportunity to host this year. Should be a fun one to watch. :thumb:

Giles  best bet in this game is to try to force alcoa to pass the ball like Knoxville west did, but I doubt they have the speed and size to do it. Kamauri Turner for Giles has 15 tds in this postseason alone and 3 ints on defense, xori randolph has been a top rusher in the state also but has been hurt but he’s back this game. Look for Trey Ballantine, Trevon Dangerfield and Tyreek Brown in the secondary. Gotta go all out to go head and head with the trenches of alcoa. I can see reek or Trevon on jordan. But I do think alcoa may outman the bobcats in the trenches.

Did any of those young men play for Giles last year, or did they transfer in????
