  1. You must be talking about that Sevier County/Mo West game. Is this really the same Mo West team the Toppers hammered a week ago vs the same Sevier County team the Indians struggled mightily with a week ago? Uh oh. Bring on Oct. 31 and Go Toppers!
  2. The kid is a good player. He'd be an even better one if he had a good line to run behind like you mentioned. Why he's at Crockett is beyond me. Against the Toppers a lot of his big plays came later once the game was already pretty well in hand but I still think he's an impressive athlete. DB will have to keep him in check tonight. You keep him contained and you stop any scoring threat the Pioneers have.
  3. Wasn't the Siegel game the one that McGue got hurt in last year though? Maybe I'm remembering it wrong but I thought it was that game. I just remember whichever game it was the radio announcers said the team seemed to lose their composure once he went out of the game. Siegel was very good last year. Their QB and WR's were real good. And our secondary wasn't very good. Hopefully we show up and show out this year.
  4. Not Acumen here but Bedard was 3-of-4 for 164 yards and 2 tds against Crockett. He also rushed for 44 yards. Against Elizabethon, he was 2-of-2 for 71 yards and 1 td. He also rushed for 119 yards in that game and scored 2 tds.
  5. All I know is SH better not overlook this Siegel team. I'm sure starting 0-4 has broken their confidence somewhat but I'm also sure they're chomping at the bit to come into JC and knock off a team that is 3-0. They'll be motivated. You can guarantee that. Wasn't the game vs Siegel the game McGue got hurt in last year? If I'm remembering correctly, he sustained the high ankle sprain in the 1st quarter and went out. When that happened it seemed like the team was shell-shocked and just never recovered. With that said, Siegel did have a very good team last year. BA will once again be a very tough game. I mean I didn't think we were going to win that game last year but they just totally dominated us at every position. Obviously it didn't help that McGue and White were both injured and couldn't play either. I don't think it would've made a huge difference had they been able to play but it would've helped some. As for the WR corp, SH is better than Sevier County in that area. I watched the Sevier County/DB game and the Toppers would have the advantage there.
  6. We'll see about that. I'm confident they can. DB hasn't been able to stop a team with a good pass attack yet. And the Toppers will have the best passing game the Indians see in the regular season. And for the record, most of T.K.'s big runs came once the game was already pretty well in hand and many backups were in.
  7. Yeah, the refs determined the 48-0 blowout. This might be the dumbest post I've ever read on here. I was at the game and there was no home cooking. Just one very good team and one pretty bad team playing against each other. It doesn't take refs to help one team beat another team that badly.
  8. DB will win easily but Crockett has improved from last year and I do expect them to put 2-3 touchdowns on the board. The Sophomore RB they've got, TK Hill, is a good one. Honestly, he's the only offensive weapon they've got. Score prediction: DB-63 Crockett-21
  9. Mo West is clearly not the team a lot of people thought but the reason they looked terrible tonight was all due to SH. The Toppers made them look terrible. Big shoutout to the Topper defense tonight for stepping up. The coaches really challenged them this week to step up their game and those guys clearly got the message. It's especially impressive considering most of the DL is made up of Juniors and Sophomores. Big ups to Sophomore LB Bryson Tolley with 9 tackles tonight. That kid's going to be a beast.
  10. I think at this point we can all agree that October 31 is going to be a great game. In all honesty, I was not impressed with Sevier County last night. With that said, I was equally unimpressed with Mo West tonight.
  11. You were saying? 4th Quarter and the Toppers are currently up 48-0. And you better believe they'll be more than ready come October 31. Didn't I hear this same song from you all last year about your mighty Indians only to see my Toppers walk out of J. Fred with a W and the trophy? Yeah, I did.
  12. Great game. Way too penalties against both teams but an exciting game overall.
  13. I haven't seen Mo West this season but they're apparently a lot better than they were last year. They'll probably be out for some revenge seeing as how the Toppers rolled in there last season and embarrassed them on their Homecoming. Everyone keeps saying SH is also better than last year but I'm not seeing it quite yet. Yeah, we know they can put up points in a hurry but they also seem to completely lose their focus after they get an early lead. The defense is also having some trouble stopping the run. With that said, I still think the Toppers win this one on Friday. Mo West's wins aren't that impressive; West Greene, Greeneville and Cherokee. And they barely beat Greeneville, a team the Toppers rolled over in a scrimmage a few weeks ago. Score prediction. SH-49 Mo West-28
  14. I knew Crockett would be better than last year. They deserve some props because they really have improved. TK Hill is going to be a real good one for them. He's just a sophomore from what I was told and to be honest, he impressed me more than Ethan Thomas from Elizabethton. SH is really going to have to find their focus this week. They keep getting these big leads early in the game and then letting up. It happened vs Elizabethton last week and Crockett last night. And they have got to learn you never overlook an opponent, which they did with the Pioneers. In talking to some of the players this week, they were acting like the game vs Crockett was nothing more than a joke. It will be interesting to see how they come out next week vs Siegel. I think Carter and company will have them prepared.
  15. TK Hill for Crockett is only a sophomore as well and the kid is Crockett's offense. They don't have anything else. Pretty impressive for a kid that age to basically be carrying an entire team by himself. Crockett got very lucky snagging him from UH.
  16. Sevier County by a TD. I'll say 35-28 for a final score.
  17. SH-63 Crockett-27. Final. Toppers were up 21-0 five minutes into the game, then I don't know what the heck happened. It seemed like they just lost focus. Crockett hung around for a good while. I'll give the Pioneers credit though. They are definitely a much better team than last year. TK Hill is legit. He slashed the Topper defense for some huge gains and ended up with 235 yards on 21 carries. The Crockett QB is also much-improved from last year. SH is going to have to come out a lot more focused next week against MO West if they want to win.
  18. He did. He carried the ball 21 times. Two of those runs were for 50+ yards and came very late in the game if I remember correctly. He was pretty much the only offense Crockett had. Their pass game was non-existent. He's a very impressive RB though. Crockett is definitely a lot better than they were last year. I'll give them credit. They play a lot harder and they've got a very good ground attack with TK Hill.
  19. That was the point. That teams like SH, Elizabethton, DB and West were/are just that much better than Crockett. Getting blown out by a team doesn't necessarily mean the score is being run up intentionally. It often means one team is just really good while the other is really bad. There's really not much difference in a 52-0 win and a 90-21 win. A 52 point loss vs a 69 point loss at the end of the day really is not that much different. Both are embarrassing blowouts.
  20. Let me guess, you're a Crockett fan? 1. I don't really care what the score at the half was. Would you rather SH have played their 2nd and 3rd string the entire game? Would that have made the Pioneers feel better? That the Toppers thought they were so bad that they didn't even have to play their starters or could've removed them after say, the 1st quarter. 2. What about DB, Elizabethton and West? You going to call them out for running up the score on Crockett too? Elizabethton won 52-0 DB won 61-7 West won 60-0 3. David Crockett boys basketball team scores from last year Beat West Greene, 90-57 Beat Happy Valley, 71-47 Care to explain those scores? Gee, I guess those Pioneers just decided to run up the score on them, huh? Or here's a thought. Maybe they were just that much better than those two teams. Kind of like how SH is often that much better than a lot of teams they play. 4. The SH girls basketball team was one of the best in the state last year and had virtually no competition in the area, especially in their own conference. Was that their fault? You probably think so. 5. The Lady Toppers were the state runner-up that year, if I'm not mistaken. Crockett was probably one of the worst teams in the state. SH's fault? Of course it was! I'm sure it was also their fault Crockett won one game that season and was usually blown out by ALL their opponents. I, sir, am very proud to be a former Topper. You, sir, must be very proud of that tweet from Crockett students last year before the game to the SH students/football team. A real classy bunch over there throwing out racial slurs at opponents.
  21. I wasn't at the game last year but here's what I was told happened. 1. Carter did not intentionally run up the score. Starters did not come back in after halftime. SH 2nd and 3rd string was just that much better than Crockett. SH also did not attempt a pass play after halftime. They simply ran the ball and unfortunately for Crockett, they couldn't even stop that. 2. Topper players were very angry after a social media page run by Crockett students tweeted a racial slur to a social media page run by SH students. You better believe something like that will fire a group of kids up.

  23. The only way Crockett holds SH to 41 points is if the Topper starters are pulled after the 1st quarter. SH scored 35 before the half last week vs Elizabethton. And Elizabethton is ten times better than Crockett. The Toppers scored 90 on the Pioneers last year. And this year's Topper team is better than last year's. Thinking Crockett holds them to 41 is ridiculous.
  24. You all won't have any problem with Crockett or Sullivan East. You are a much better team than both. Neither of those two have played a good team so far. You'll beat both of them by at least 3-4 TDs.
