  1. You could consider Independence high school in this conversation. they haven't had the best past couple of years but being the division rivals we from the franktown are very nervous about our matchup with them this year. they have some boys who can light it up in a heart beat from the starters down through the bench. watch out for the eagles this year :thumb:

  2. Who would get your vote?

you have to give the sister duo from ravenwood as well as alyssa ivey a look.

Independence's Caroline Carlton also deserves her credit, and the setter Murphy and libero McCombs also had one dynamic week

#4 from siegel, the name of which i do not know, was "automatic" as the students said, and proved to be so.

DB had a couple of good players starting with the big girl in the middle.

#34 from soddy also had a good couple of games.

i attended all the state games but was not overly impressed by any other player.

overall this tournament was filled with very capable girls. :thumb:

  3. Athletically Karns was the best team I saw at the state. They were big and athletic. I thought the same last season. They should have won a state championship, but they simply are not that well coached. Independance has no where near the talent that Karns has. However, they were coached off the court, just like last year. Poor use of time outs; failure to adjust the defense; and the most limited offense I have ever watched with that much talent.

The sad thing is that the program says the setter and middles were seniors. They played great, and hard. Nothing to be ashamed about. Coaching makes a huge impact on this game.

As far as Ravenwood goes, siegel is a better team.

not to bash... but, your last statement was not very well thought through. Ravenwood played dominate volleyball last week. not even dobyns-bennett could beat them. and they had two chances. so by the statement you made you're saying siegel is better than dobyns-bennett. you obviously did not attend the game between these two. DB in 3. siegel did not even make it to 20 at any point in the match.

  4. If your looking for a team to look at more than one player and Independence high school game would be a great decision in the spring. headed by Dylan Toscano and Brian Miller on the staff and Adam Lee, Austin Reed, and a couple of very talented players coming up from jv in the line-up, this has the makings to one explosive team with a chance to make a run at state.

  5. Keep you eye on McCoy Newburg out of Independence. He finished 2nd in nationals in 09(freshman) and 8th last year with a last second loss in the quarterfinals. Hes one heck of a technitian on the mat. i cant wait to see who puts up a fight this year :popcorneater:

  6. I went by and watched Franklin scrimmage Page Monday night. I think Franklin is going to surprise a lot of people this year. Page threw their ace, Gross, and Franklin was up 7-0 at the end of 5. Little hit one about 425 feet his first time up to set the tone. Their defense was very solid, they threw a different pitcher every inning and there wasn't much difference between 1 and 5. I was very impressed with the team and the coaches. they're is no walk up music and they don't throw it around after an out, they looked very business like so watch out Indy and Brentwood I think ya'll will be chasing the Rebels at the end.

Did you also know that the page jv team beat their varsity team both intersquad games this year? look for an indy ravenwood final this year. franklin will just fall short. but maybe they'll beat centinneal.?:wub:

  7. You can count page out if they continue what they have started. To my knowledge they played two intersquad games and the jv team beat the varsity team both games. regardless if they were trying or not nathan browns got some issues over there. and gross will not be as effective this year as you may think. unless he can throw 35 games this year. there is no way they beat spring hill

  8. Deffinition of sport:

an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.

i give you credit skill is a yes.

but no contact unless you screw up the steps. and you cannot defend against the opposition.. cause there is not an opposition. :popcorneater: sorry guys:)
