  1. Didn't Brandon Cole transfer from CC to Stone after his freshman year? 3 sport star

One of my most favorite players to watch play basketball on any level and a great young man.  Yes, Brandon did transfer after his freshmen year at CCHS.  His parents either bought or rented a house in the zone for Stone Memorial, so he could play there with a group that he had played with a lot since his youth - his parents put him in the best possible position for success.

  2. This is true and absurd.  There has been a little "back and forth" between Stone and Cumberland Co. admins this year over violations & such - "turning each other in for this and that".  The CCHS coach had sent info packs to the county middle school coaches about spring activities and CCHS team information for upcoming freshmen.  In years past, he had only sent to CCHS feeder schools.  This year he sent to it to all schools (coaches) in the county since there is open enrollment now in Tennessee.  Apparently, this is a recruiting violation.  TSSAA has put CCHS on two years probation - no post season bans, but they lose two practice days in June, cannot attend team camps this summer, nor play in HOF games at the beginning of the season.  The restrictions are for this year only plus they had to pay TSSAA $1000.  The players are the only ones being disciplined, which doesn't make any sense to me!!!!!!!!!  You would think that we brought in a kid from Iowa or a 6'10" foreign exchange student.  If this is recruiting violations, we not very good at that either.

  3. Cumberland Co coach does a good job . Needs to teach herself and kids how to act when you lose .

I didn't notice that situation, but I'm not saying it didn't happen.  I know for a fact that Miller, the players, and fans have a lot respect for White Co and their players.  I know I clapped for the White Co. team when they were acknowledged.  Maybe give the Cumberland Co girls and Coach a little slack - they are highly competitive, but good kids with good parents.  Sometimes, we all act in ways we shouldn't - especially when we are very disappointed at sporting events or on "message boards".  Good luck Warriorettes.

  4. Blackman by 40 . What a joke !!!!!!!!!

Easy Summit, that was a little Monday morning humor about the Riverdale/Smyna deal and a respectful "hand clap" for White Co. - no need to punch me/our team "below the waist".

  5. Good luck White County tonight; your girls played with a lot of heart over the weekend.  I did hear that Cumberland County was being investigated for the "throwing" the regional championship game so they could play Blackman - the Lady Jets want to bust into the state tournament by beating the #1 team in the country then dominate the glass house!  ;)

  6. I see this region as being competitive based on comparing common opponents (which doesn't really work).  White County should be a 10-15pt favorite on any team in the region with this much on the line.  Good luck all 6AAA teams, let's play our district tournament in Ootewah.

  7. Had more snow last night, but the main roads are clear this afternoon.  Here is an update on the district tourney from www.crossville-chronicle.com - rescheduled for this Saturday.

The District 6AAA basketball tournament consolation and championship games scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday has been rescheduled for Saturday. If the weather cooperates, the schedule will be Cookeville vs. Warren County, girls consolation, 3 p.m.;  CCHS vs. Cookeville, boys consolation, 4:30 p.m.; CCHS vs. White County, championship, 6 p.m.; and White County vs. SMHS, boys championship, 7:30 p.m. All awards (All-District, All-Tournament, sportsmanship, coach of the year and team) will be after each championship game. If the games cannot be played Saturday, current seedings will be used for the region tournament. This is what the other district is planning on doing as well.

  8. Consolation and Championship games are re-scheduled for Saturday:  3pm; 4:30pm; 6pm; and 7:30.  Info below from www.crossville-chronicle.com

  9. Any decision made yet on whether we will get to finish district tourney?

They have moved regions to Monday, we have the rest of the week to finish the districts - hopefully, they can get that done by Saturday.  It's icy and cold here in Crossville - I see it getting done Thurs/Fri.

  10. Today's games are canceled - skating rink here in Crossville.  From my understanding, they will try the same schedule each day this week.  If unable to finish out the district games, go into regions as follows:  #1 Cumberland Co, #2 White Co., #3 Cookeville, and #4 Warren Co..  The ratings are based on final district standing and current advancement in tournament.  I think Cookeville was ranked ahead of Warren County?  I know the CCHS and White Co was "draw" based.

  11. Today's games are canceled.  From my understanding, they will try the same schedule each day this week.  If they cannot get the games in, they will go into regions as follows:  White Co #1, Stone #2, Cookeville #3, and CCHS #4.
