Lady Canes did lay an egg yesterday, way too many errors and not enough sticks. Never did look like they were ready to play ball, no enthusiasm. Wilmoth pitched fine, blue was not giving corners and not much was hit hard on her. DB had several little dink hits and to go along with the errors they still only scored four runs, should have scored no more than two. DB is an average team that we should not lose to but thats what happens when you come to the field not ready to play ball and I hope my ladies don't need to learn that lesson more than once. We will see how much heart they have to bounce back after a lackluster performance, this weekend, still have a lot of confidence in this talented group. Go Lady Canes!

Thunder I was fired up for the softball season long before the first three games, its a great sport that I love...passionate fans and passionate coaches help make passionate players. I didn't say Wilmoth was the best pitcher in the state, I said she has to be at least oneof the best. I know she works very hard and loves what she is doing, she is awesome now and will be even better a month from now. Yes expectations are high we have alot of talent, the coaches should expect the best out of their players and the players expect the best out of their coaches. Mobuck summed up the rest of what I said very well so I won't touch on that again. Good luck to you and your Lady Eagles and sorry I made you throw up or laugh or whatever it was I made you do, maybe you threw up and then laughed about it...I don't know. Well my Lady Canes look to be the cream of the crop, at least early in this young season, in the IMAC so far. Jefferson County is the only team in the conference that could pose some problems that I see. Wilmoth and Hensley have been monsters at the plate so far, when Horner finds her goove and the rest of the young girls get a little more experience we will be a tough game for anyone. Wilmoth has to be one of the best pitchers around if not in the entire state. I think we have a team that can go to state when our coaching staff decides to work more on the small parts of the game that makes you better. I have yet to see our outfielders move to back up throws to first or potential throws to a base when runners are on. They need to back each other up on balls hit to the outfield also. Hensley has a strong enough arm to be a game changer when we decide to quit being afraid to let her throw to bases when runners are on. I'm still not sure if we have any bunt coverages in place or not. Our base running is terrible, we keep substituting speed for smarts. We are taking smart base runners out and putting speed in and i agree with doing that but we have to make our base runners smarter. These are things that I have noticed that will make us a legitimate state contender when we start working on them. These things won't show up in the easy wins but when we go deep into the post season they are things that will eventually bite us in the butt and cost us. I'm afraid that sub-state is as far as we can go until we get better at these basic fundamentals. All of these girls already know these things they just have to be reminded and refreshed in their heads in practice. They have all played travel ball and want to play the game like it is supposed to be played and now is the time to be working on it so we will be ready come post season. I love our coaching staff, they teach most of the game well,these are just a few things that I feel we need to work on to get to the next level. I want to wish Kendi King a speedy recovery with her knee injury. We need her back on the field as soon as possible. We are praying for her.

Audrey Woodby of Karns has a good arm and a good bat. Sweet girl also.

The lady canes played really well considering a lot of the girls couldnt be there because of basketball. I thought the younger girls played awesome and should push for playing time.

Welcome to the imac Thunder360 i have heard a lot of good things about your lady eagles. East has a new jv coach from the boys basketball team and another coach coming in that played in college, i think at tenn. tech. East has alot of talent on the team and a ton of talent coming in as freshman.

It's great to hear from fans of the new IMAC teams. I'm looking forward to a new softball season and seeing the new conference teams on the field (and the old). MoEast also have a couple of new coaches on the staff this year which should bring some new enthusiasm for the players. GO LADY CANES! Work hard and lets take this thing all the way to state!

I can't believe our softball fans are still in hiding with less than a week till we start practice and about two weeks away from actually playing some preseason games. Come on my fellow softball imacians, come out and play. Lets keep our thread on page one at least.

Emilie is the best catcher i have ever seen, a big weapon behind the plate and also a very down to earth young lady. I haven't heard anything about her dad helping coach at east but it would be a good addition to help get this team to the next level. With all the talent at east its time for the coaching staff to get this team to state.

I agree with you Mobuck162 on two accounts, I also can't wait for softball season to get here and I also agree that losing a player like Gilbert is really going to hurt your beloved Chiefs. I disagree with order of finish though, here are my predictions: 1) Morristown East 2) Seymour 3) Jefferson County 4) Morristown West 5) South Doyle 6) Cherokee 7) Cocke County 8) Sevier County. I will admit that I don't know much about the new teams coming in this year but I would also like to welcome them to the IMAC. Should be a fun season and I hope the coaching staff at East is ready to lead my Lady Hurricanes to state tournament.
