  1. Leslie Berquist and Gaby Gilmore of Morristown East both signed with Walters State. Good Luck to both girls!
  2. Kendi King infielder from Morristown East and Lindsee Price infielder from Cherokee both going to Walters State.
  3. 1) Seymour- Hate to say it but coaching, pitching is probably best in the conference. 2) M. East- Could make a run, most talented 1-9 on the field IMO. 3) Jefferson- Young but talented, pretty good coaching. 4) South Doyle- Look for major strides from this team this year. 5) Cherokee- Descent pitching and a few sticks in the lineup. 6) M. West- Sleeper, could make a jump all the way up to 4. 7) Cocke- Very young will have growing to do. 8) Sevier- Could possibly split with Cocke and finish in a tie for 7th. Looking forward to an exciting season and hopeful my Lady Canes can finish higher than I projected! GO LADY CANES!!
  4. Looking forward to another season of IMAC softball. Who will be the team/teams to beat this year? Good luck to all the young ladies for a great season!
  5. To do what shes done with what she has Tracy deserves to be considered Coach of the year in girls AAA. I think she has two girls on the team that plays AAU basketball and they are a sophomore and a junior. She is bringing the love of basketball to a place where softball has been the primary sport for a long time! Tracy Cloninger would definitely get my vote for coach of the year!!!
  6. I agree size of school should not matter....I think Tennessee, Walters State, and Maryville College should all be in the same conference or classification. I think Science Hill, Happy Valley, and Washburn should all be in the same classification. I don't know why we even have A, AA, and AAA! WOW! By the way Science Hill is good for all of you that dont know it!
  7. I dont think granddad is an East fan and you are right East more than likely wont have a chance if they make it to State. Maryville will be a tough game for us on the road. Hilltoppers wont win State this year.....maybe next year!
  8. Tonights games went pretty much as expected with all 4 of the higher seeds winning! Tn High/West game might have been a little tighter than expected.
  9. Great job Lady Canes for winning district tournament. Congratulations to the all-conference and all-tournament teams. Gabby had a great district tourny. GO LADY CANES!
  10. Kendi King 2B/3B of Morristown East signed with Walters State.
  11. Bradley Central is a very talented team and they do deserve to be considered in the top 10 conversation. Morristown East was not at full strength in the BC either and are not even playing close to the same kind of basketball as they did in that game. If you saw them play today you wouldn't even recognize them.....they have improved and grown leaps and bounds. Every team in the state is improving and East has done it quickly and dramatically! East also deserves to be considered in the top 10 topic!
  12. IMAC has Morristown East which is as good as Science Hill or at least very close. 2 thru 5 in IMAC is probably comparable to 2-5 in Big 8.
  13. Well put by trottercoach. If they were to meet I think it will be 50/50. The way granddad put it East would not have much of a chance. East has beaten Science hill twice in the last couple of years including last year @ Science Hill.
  14. I'm not as sure about all that as you are granddad.

  16. Seymour definitely has a good ball team as they do in most sports year in and year out. East will not look past Seymour or anyone else for that matter. East is playing pretty good ball also, they have some things they need to improve on just like everyone else but if they can get better at a few parts of the game (and I think they will) they will be a very difficult "out" in district and regional play. They have the depth to play hard the entire game, they have the inside and outside game, they have ball handling and size. The one thing that I see that needs to be improved on the most is probably shot selection, take good shots for the most parts but they go thru lulls in the game where bad shots are taken and while you can get away with it against weaker teams, the stronger teams come post season time will make you pay for it. I'm pretty sure Tracy will get that taken care of though, she is a smart coach! Play Greeneville tonight and Seymour tomorrow night......GO LADY CANES!!
  17. Lady Canes @ Jefferson County tonight. Should be a good one, East hasn't beaten Jeff in a long, long time. GO LADY CANES!!
  18. Hahahaha......I think we can count trottercoach out as a prognosticator! He got the most impotant one right though!
  19. Big game tonight for the Lady Canes at home against Dobyns Bennett. Need to be able to play and beat the teams from the Big 8. Also big game for Morr West tonight against South Greene. GO LADY CANES!!
  20. Yeah it was a nice win for my Lady Canes....North Greene tourny champs! I thought we looked a little out of sync at times and a little unfocused during stretches of the game but overall a nice win. Chucky Doak is a quality team, their PG is definitely a baller. I expect our coach will work out the kinks and have the girls ready for conference play! As always GO LADY CANES!
  21. Championship game tonight vs. Chucky Doak! Lady Canes are starting to come together a little!
  22. ETSU Softball Signs Five For 2012-13 http://www.etsubucs.com/softball/news/2011-12/8210/etsu-softball-signs-five-for-2012-13/ Johnson City, Tenn. (Nov. 16, 2011)-The ETSU softball team has announced the signing of five student-athletes for the 2012-13 season, according to head Buccaneer softball coach Brad Irwin on Wednesday. Madison Boyd (Chattanooga, Tenn.), Sam Carpenter (Forest City, N.C.), Bethany Cowart (Ringgold, Ga.), Emilie Hensley (Morristown, Tenn.), and Katy Jordan (Loganville, Ga.) have all signed their national letter of intent to play softball for the Blue and Gold starting next fall. "We are really proud of this class," said Irwin. "We think this class will be a major step in building our program. This class meets many of our needs, which includes pitching and power. We can hardly wait to get these young ladies on campus. The four high school players in this signing class also played for a high level travel ball team."
  23. Just an early pre-season prediction. I think there will be alot of parity in the IMAC this year. 1. Morristown East 2. Cherokee 3. Morristown West 4. Sevier County 5. Seymour 6. Jefferson County 7. Cocke County 8. South Doyle
