  1. Baylor probably should have been in the others receiving consideration list. After we looked back at their record, they lost 11 games. With all the talent they have they should not lose that many games. They're definitely a school that has a chance to move up if they start winning the games that they should win. Girls basketball in Chattanooga has been weak in the past. Don't know that that really changes this year.
  2. I don't see Clarkrange losing a district or region game. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they win a championship in Murfreesboro this season.
  3. I really like Baylor. Their guard play should be almost unmatched with both Tamya Long & Kaleigh Clemmons coming off strong summers. Clemmons looks better every time I see her.
  4. MLK and Rossview were both in the receiving consideration section of the poll. MLK plays a weak schedule & lost in the first round of the state tournament to a Westview team we don't have ranked in the top 40.. Rossview lost their all-time leading scorer in Janie White.. It won't be easy for them to replace her 19 points and 8 rebounds per game that she put up for them last season.
  5. What information might you be talking about? We became aware of one transfer after we released the rankings & if that team doesn't perform the way we expect, they'll move down.

  7. John McGraw Scouting's Top 50 HS Girls Basketball Coaches in Tennessee & Kentucky 1. Derek McCord - Dyer Co TN 2. Lamar Rogers - Clarkrange TN 3. Ernie Smith - Lipscomb TN 4. Brian Haskins - Westview TN 5. Chad Hibdon - Blackman TN The rest of the list can be found at the link below- http://scoutingjohnmcgraw.wordpress.com/freeblog/
  8. Heckert is about to start her first summer of high level exposure ball with a team with kids from Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas. She will be known nationally after this summer. There are only 2 high-level teams in Memphis anyways, not that many options in Memphis.
  9. No, she didn't stand out at all... What did she average?
  10. I am aware. Houston Co has been playing their entire team in every camp game. My comment above was complete sarcasm. Houston Co is the best team in the region.
  11. Of course. I do think whoever comes out of this region whether it be Houston, Community or a surprise can make a run and win a game or two at state if they aren't given a strong match up in the first round.
  12. Saw them play last week also. Buckner looked WAY better than everyone else on their team. Wasn't impressed with other MTCS players as individual players. Burkey is a good coach tho and I think he is the difference maker for them if they make a run.
  13. As I said earlier I've got them 4th... But if camp results matter as much as you think they do, they'd be 1st. They beat Houston Co worse than anyone else has this summer.
  14. I'm not sure exactly what they lost... But I do know that I saw Community and Houston play a week or so ago and Houston was definitely the better team WITHOUT Boggs.... I'm a 9A guy, born and raised but I'm not so blind that I can't see the truth... Other than Community, no one in 9A will have a chance to beat Houston come Regions.
  15. Didn't add anyone that makes a significant difference.. Just their young players getting older..
  16. You are putting too much stock into camp wins and losses.... I witnessed Eagleville beat Houston and that doesn't happen in the regular season, especially with Boggs.. Houston Co is playing every single player on their bench, that won't happen come regular season. Boggs is arguably the biggest difference maker in Region 5A. An example of camp wins/losses not mattering, Raven Fair led Union City to wins over Dyersburg and Munford... While Raven looked VERY good, she has zero help and they have no shot of beating either of those teams come regular season. IMO Fair should be one of the favorites for A Miss Basketball tho. Averaged about 25 ppg this week. Back to the original discussion, Houston County will win the Region and make a run at a state championship.
  17. Eagleville beat Houston Co by 10 the other day.... Houston Co also doesn't have Boggs right now thanks to injury. Let's not use them as a measuring stick. MC may struggle IMO. I've got Community MTCS Forrest Eagleville MC As my top 5.
  18. As I said, you should always expect to play the entire month of June. You won't actually play the entire month unless your coach wants to practice a lot. Then IF your child plays AAU you should expect to play July 6-12, and July 22-28. IF your child is very serious about basketball they would gladly put vacation to the side in order to play as much basketball as possible.
  19. I've heard great things about Tasia also.. Just haven't seen her play yet.
  20. I've heard from two pretty good sources, including one source inside the Westview GBB program that he is headed to Ole Miss...
  21. Yost is honestly the best prospect of all of them. I've seen every one of them play SEVERAL times, in both high school and AAU ball. But let's get back to the original conversation, what other good 8th graders do y'all know of?
  22. What teams are currently committed to coming?
  23. Yost is quite a bit better than those 3 IMO..... What D1 schools are those 3 hearing from?
  24. Can't forget Mykia Dowdell - Robertsville Middle Jordyn Cambridge - Ensworth Sydney Harvey - Brentwood Academy
  25. With all due respect to those young ladies, district 9A is far from the best... It's actually not good at all. There are only two future NCAA D1 players that are currently in High School in that district and they are Sarah Pierce from Community and Caitlyn Yost from Forrest. The bottom teams in that conference are absolutely awful.
