Great game tonight at CHS. With .5 seconds in regulation a Cocke Co player got the ball on the inbounds down by 3 points and shot it from 80 feet,swish! The refs counted the basket and OT began. Cherokee won the game in OT. The referee crew had a bad game. They lost control of the game early and it seemed as if they were not working together. My question is : is there an actual rule about how many seconds it takes to take a shot? If not this was an eighty foot tip-in!

The girls race for the conference championship will be interesting. I have seen most of Cherokee's games and they have been a little disappointing. However against M.West they absoutely dominated them. It was the first time this year that the CHS coach started and played all three big girls at the same time and West was completely outmatched. Maybe it was a matchup thing or just a good and or poor game but we'll learn more if the roads ever clear up and play resumes.

The kid from DB is Swafford. Don't forget about Ty Ryans from Cherokee. Tanner Trent from Cherokee is a freshman that will contribute as well.

From what I hear the transfer is nowhere near as good as Devin but any help at all will be welcomed. I wish the new coach much success and hope he only loses 2 games a year, Go Chiefs! By the way Devin should be signing to play at the next level. I hope this coach will work to get that done.

His name is Travis DeWitte and he is doing fine. As far as I know everything is okay and he is back at school.

I can see why you have your opinion based on this fall and the scrimmages the chiefs have played thus far but the chief program is not going down the tubes. They are young but have very talented skill players. The freshman group from last year didn't come close to losing unless you count Mo East by 20. Give these players some time and trust me many people will know QB Ty Ryans by name in just a short while.
