  1. Lebanon sports are a joke right now. The problem at Lebanon is the director of schools. He is the one making all the changes. He is letting parents run the programs. The principal can not keep who she wants to keep. Lebanon had good coaches in all sports and got rid of all them for no reason what so ever. Parents in Lebanon do not want there kids to have discipline.I know nothing about the current coaches and I am not knocking them but lebanon will never be successful unless they get better athletes and parents. Without athletes, discipline and good parents you have nothing. Lebanon is a end of the road job and if I was a coach thinking about going to Lebanon. You better think again.

That's it. The inmates are running the jail!

  2. What is going on at LHS? I see that they are looking for coaches. Is there any thruth to the news about Hatfield taking the Wing-T from HHS to LHS next year?

He was offered the job and turned it down. It's a mess and they are wrong to interveiw people witha coach on staff who hasn't even been there a year. Principle has no clue on how to do things. She's as lost as last years Easter egg!

  3. Wasn't coach Busby from Loretto? I'm still a little "fuzzy" on why coach Busby was let go. Could anyone enlighten me on the ACTUAL reasons for his dismissal? Where is he going to be in the fall?

I wish the new coach and staff the best of luck.

The principle said he was not good in the classroom and decided not to rehire him. And yes he was from Loretto. I like Lee as a person but he better have some guys with experience to help or he will fail.

  4. There's a sizable gap between the pay for experienced teachers and coaches in Sumner / Rutherford and Wilson County. Starting pay is pretty close, but once you get up around 8-10 years, the difference is serious (roughly $8,000 a year). This hurt Wilson Central's coaching search a year ago and it looks to be doing the same at LHS.

New school set to open in the fall of 2012, the addition of advanced PE for in-season lifting, a solid junior class -- all these things are great, but until the pay issue is addressed, Wilson County is spinning its wheels.

The pay hurts but the not having the kids 4th block in the off season for weights kills them!

  5. Some people think that the person who asked Brown to resign willl be the one ultimately doing the hiring. Sure sounds good though using a committee.

I heard this also. But 47 seems a little high, maybe even inflated. I just hope they get the right coach and soon. The weightroom is a joke right now. The kids aren't doing anything to improve.

  6. is it just me or does this whole thing sound "fishy"? <_<

    1. Who hears of a coach losing his job over the "teaching" part of it, right before tenure?

    2. no newspapers or media reporting it.

    3. no posting by the school looking to hire.

    4. A coach from richland already hired. (would you not want to better the situation)

all my questions from above about why Loretto no longer wins football games are answered... somewhat.

I heard the principle didn't like him and if he had it his way they wouldn't have sports period.

  7. I don't think you have to go out of county to validate it. There are some great coaches in this county. And I don't think Coach Brown should of been fired. But what's done is done so now they need to hire the best guy they can get. My Paw Paw always said if you do it right you do it lite. I hope LHS does it right and gets a great young coach. There are some great ones that have applied.

  8. Can you throw out some names? Word on the street is that Jerry Joslin was seen at LHS recently. Now those of you who have been around awhile know how much respect I have for Joslin. He would be an outstanding hire. He breeds discipline, teaches fundamentals and precise technique, and his players are physical to the core. Man, I might have to become a blue devil fan if this happens. I badly wanted him for the job at OHS when Ferg left.

Not much of a name dropper but folks have already named afew on here. I do know that Joslin hasn't threw his hat in the ring. He is a great coach and would win at LHS but if you hire him you have to hire his wfe as a principle.

  9. Any idea when they will do the new field at Cumberland? We got a kid at Cane Ridge being recruited by them and it might be helpful if they were gonna do it soon.

As soon as they finsih the new dorms they are building now they will start on the new stadium. The new dorms are suppose to be finished by the fall. Then they will start on the new digs!! Coach A is a good coach and they have a great thing going at CU right now. Best season since '96 when the Bulldawgs were 8-2 and finished ranked 16th.

  10. They are going to build the new stadium, complete with new offices etc.., for CU where the futbol field is now behind the new student apartments so room won't be an issue LOD. Field turf and all and the football team will share it with the futball teams. Kevin I too know folks on the board and this came from them. As for the LHS coaching job, any news?
