South has been using their qb as a work horse atleast since Curt Phillips was there and ur just now pointing that it's a bad thing? I disagree cause it's worked against every team I've seen em play. Especially Boone.

Well what needs to be fixed is boones line needs to suck it up and knock people back instead of letting them kill their quarterback and running back. The lines on O and D haven't changed that much from last year. Another thing that needs to happen is #7 needs to realize he is not superman. He has the making to be a good qb but this whole holding on to the ball junk just ain't cutting it. He does the same thing in basketball....he brings it down the court, drives the lane, and shoots every single time. Thats why Arnold sits him out most of the time. Another problem is that the ball hog qb is the only one on defense who can make a tackle. Can these problems be fixed? Your guess is as good as mine. IMO I say you put #7 in as full-time defense and move #3 into qb he's just a sophomore but that could be the change Boone needs. As for the lines I'd make them run oklahomas everyday from now til Friday until the puked. As for the outcome, when a good team gets embarrassed they usually respond well the next week. This Cherokee game will show whether Boone is a good team or if they are terrible. Like I said this is all my opinion. I'm not the coach so my opinion doesn't matter much but you asked for it so here it is.

I actually think Boone was just that bad. No discredit to Betsy they looked sharp but Boone has alot of kinks to work out and I forsee a long season.

I can't discredit this kid at all but can he do this week in and week out against 5 and 6A schools.....I highly doubt it. I would take sanders or even mclemore over this kid any day of the week.

Boone 35 Betsy 17 I say boone comes out the gate firing on all cylinders and takes an early lead. Betsy will make a run at it toward the end of the 2nd but halftime will kill the momentum and the wheels will run off. Boone will dominate the 4th quarter and add some points to cushion the lead. This most likely won't happen just having a little fun.

Actually pads have everything to do with it. They affect the throwing motion, release time, and accuracy. Not to mention the effect that pads have on a receiver. 7 on 7 is nothing more then a little practice and if you want to use it to predict your teams on field performance then go ahead but you will be shocked and disappointed when things don't play out like you expected them to.

Thanks vision I have got to learn how to get my priorities straight. Maybe we can talk the tssaa into getting rid of the pads and fat guys and make 7 on 7 what football is all about.

Cause that Carter county education is really showing through....this is atleast the 2nd post uve made that your math didn't quite add up and now your slacking on your geography. Last time i checked knoxville was still in east tennessee. And let the record show that Boone played a Knoxville team deep in the playoffs last year. The big boy playoffs that is. I would rather get stomped into the ground year after year in 5A ball as to hang my hat on a 3A team.

Didn't say they were better then DB or even as good. But DB is not as good as the Knoxville schools. Why do you go to a 7-7 w local teams to show them what you've got? Ya don't! JJ ain't no fool...

We will see how the 7-7 tournament helped when you have the quickest line in the area breathing down your qbs neck. Also not every big boy team in the area was there. Boone chose to play their 7-7 games in the Knoxville area where there is a chance to better your team.

Just as I expected....still cant roll with the big boys. If elizabethon had the best qb in ne tn then surely they should have taken it to any ne team in a 7 on 7 game. And please judge everything on these 7 on 7 games because at the end of the day they don't mean jack. They are good practice at the most and jus cause ya came in 2nd in one don't mean anything.

I have no idea if he's a pocket qb or not but from what I've heard last year he over threw the receivers 9 times out of 10. May need to see what we can do to get the officials a helmet.

You are excited about your team and that's great but don't think for one second that Boone is gonna come down there and take anything off of anyone. They will bust your cyclones in the mouth every single play because that's the way Boone plays football. Sounds like you've got some stellar athletes but anyone in the area is going to think the same thing about their team. So with that said I won't single out any particular players on the Boone squad but as a team we are quicker and stronger and we will stick it to your cyclones play after play.

You are exactly right! If Boone loses this one it's going to be a bad start to what could be a worst season. We are returning 6 starters so we are nowhere near expected to be as good as we were last year. With that said there is alot of talent coming up but there is no way anyone can say that Boone will be better this year then the past two, but don't count em out. Anyone who writes Boone off as an easy win is gonna be in for a long night.

IMO, jenkins will utilize his line and run game. The line is solid and the back are looking alot quicker then last year and somewhat stronger. Littleton had a nice td pass in the jamboree. He also had a nice run where he was pressures out of the pocket but it was called back. My concern this year is the defense. The secondary is looking a little weak but the line is holding up good. It'll be interesting to see how Boone holds up later in the season against opponents who will test them. No offense to elizabethon but I mean at the end of the day they are still 3A.

Boone looked very solid on offense (of course it was against Crockett) but nonetheless still a solid showing from qb and tb's. Goin through some major growing pains though. 23 broke a nice 60 yard run called back for holding. Very next play 7 scrambled out of the pocket and into pay dirt 50 yards later only to be called back for clipping. The inexperience showed on D also. Crockett Broke a couple of big plays including a 50 yard run from Campbell. If elizabethon can get it past the interior it'll be a long night for the trailblazers. With all of this being said Duncan wasn't playing as he is coming off an injury. He is a huge asset to the Boone D. Also starters weren't in the whole quarter it was more of a rotation of 1st and 2nd string. So to analyze a quarter played during a jamboree is almost a waste of time. But all of these statements were made solely on what I seen last night regardless of what players were in the game. Next Friday should be a good game and a great start to a season for one team and an early road block for the other. As for who will walk away with the w....your guess is as good as mine.
