  1. Hey Soxfan. As your picture shows, you are clueless. Matt does not have bad hands and is not slow. Record setting year in a district that is not bad at all. The district actually has good, quality pitching and he is hitting over .500. Outside the district, OR has for the most part played good competition. Rather than take your word, perhaps D1 coaches should talk to the coaches at HVA, Powell, Halls, AC, Karns, and Bearden. I think they would have a better feel for what a good baseball player Matt is.
  2. McMinn Central also lost to Lenoir City.
  3. This student was a Freshman at LC who did not play last year. Quit before the season began.
  4. Question. Better District 4 AAA hire. Cowan @ Bearden or Wright @ Lenoir City?

  6. Consider yourself shocked!
  7. Did coach at Berry College (her alma mater), was an assistant coach for 1 year for the Atlanta franchise in the defunct ABL (in the 90's), most recently has been a high school coach in the Rome, GA area.
  8. Strike Kingston. It has been filled. Add Lenoir City.
  9. Not really close, but as they say "thats why they play the game". Good luck with West, and forward. Lets hope for a 4AAA sweep in the 1st Round of the Region, and we'll do this again next week!
  10. I didn't address the first half because that simply didn't happen. Catholic had the ball, I would have noticed if there was a "10 to 15" second delay. I was was anxious for the clock to run out. Yes, it probably did take that long for the dribbles and foul at the end of the game. The referees showed they were not afraid to put time back on the clock, so I am sure they would have if they felt the time was incorrect. "Amazingly", there were calls that were probably incorrect both ways. Like LC trying to waste another foul between 4 and 1.2 seconds, and play continuing without a call. Like Catholic's guard traveling as he tried to call the time out with 1.2 seconds. It would be nice to know if Catholic's coaching staff had an issue with which direction they went in the second half. I will agree with this, it was a great game. Catholic played a great firat half. Good luck in the region.
  11. With all due respect irish bball, thats not exactly how the last seven seconds went down. Catholic threw the ball in under the Lenoir City basket. The player dribbled toward the Lenoir City bench. Lenoir City had fouls to give, and fouled him. Time out was called at this point. Catholic took the ball out again, and after throwing it in, dribbled diagonally across the point. After crossing half court, the player called time out. The time clock showed .5 seconds. After conferring, the officials put 1.2 seconds on the clock. Not unusual in this situation. You should not make it sound as if the clock operator just let the clock run. Also, both teams had to deal with the working scoreboard at their backs for a half.
