  1. Hey Soxfan. As your picture shows, you are clueless. Matt does not have bad hands and is not slow. Record setting year in a district that is not bad at all. The district actually has good, quality pitching and he is hitting over .500. Outside the district, OR has for the most part played good competition. Rather than take your word, perhaps D1 coaches should talk to the coaches at HVA, Powell, Halls, AC, Karns, and Bearden. I think they would have a better feel for what a good baseball player Matt is.

  2. It was hard to tell how any of the teams truly looked. All used a variety of player combination. Central did win against Livingston, Oak Ridge and Maryville. However, in the Maryville game both teams had three to four projected starters that did not play. It was just a good day to get everyone some court time.

McMinn Central also lost to Lenoir City.

  3. LC boosters must have came up some money. Even though small college coaches don't make a lot of money, it's around the same amount that high school coaches make. LC is not one of the better paying systems in the state. Seymour pays a lot more money. Besides, he doesn't have to teach at Maryville College (if he did I'm sure its a very light load). I would be shocked if Todd took this job. But then again stranger things have happened.

    Consider yourself shocked!

  4. I believe I heard her name was connie guinn. She graduated from Kingston in the 80's I think. I know she coached some college ball at berry college, and last yr believe it or not she coached ATLANTA WNBA, Those jackets got a real good coach I think

Did coach at Berry College (her alma mater), was an assistant coach for 1 year for the Atlanta franchise in the defunct ABL (in the 90's), most recently has been a high school coach in the Rome, GA area.

  5. So far the jobs that are open and can be added to:

    Unicoi county

    Kingston

    South Greene

    Huntingdon

    Glenclif

    Hunters Lane

    Oneida

    Clay County

    David Crockett

    Munford

Are there any other openings currently? Any news on who is applying for them or also who will get them?

Strike Kingston. It has been filled. Add Lenoir City.

  6. I didn't address the first half because that simply didn't happen. Catholic had the ball, I would have noticed if there was a "10 to 15" second delay. I was was anxious for the clock to run out. Yes, it probably did take that long for the dribbles and foul at the end of the game. The referees showed they were not afraid to put time back on the clock, so I am sure they would have if they felt the time was incorrect. "Amazingly", there were calls that were probably incorrect both ways. Like LC trying to waste another foul between 4 and 1.2 seconds, and play continuing without a call. Like Catholic's guard traveling as he tried to call the time out with 1.2 seconds. It would be nice to know if Catholic's coaching staff had an issue with which direction they went in the second half. I will agree with this, it was a great game. Catholic played a great firat half. Good luck in the region.

  7. With all due respect irish bball, thats not exactly how the last seven seconds went down. Catholic threw the ball in under the Lenoir City basket. The player dribbled toward the Lenoir City bench. Lenoir City had fouls to give, and fouled him. Time out was called at this point. Catholic took the ball out again, and after throwing it in, dribbled diagonally across the point. After crossing half court, the player called time out. The time clock showed .5 seconds. After conferring, the officials put 1.2 seconds on the clock. Not unusual in this situation. You should not make it sound as if the clock operator just let the clock run. Also, both teams had to deal with the working scoreboard at their backs for a half.
