  1. Sometimes schools need to flip a home and away in a new two year cycle to get 5 home and 5 away.  Gallatin played Lebanon home and away the last 2 years, but are playing them away and home these next 2 years, to make the schedules work for both schools.  I'm guessing that might be the case here.

I was hoping the Gallatin-Springfield series would start back up with Springfield moving up to 5A next year. We’ve got five out of region games to schedule and I wondered if the Wave would be one. I have my answer.

Great rivalry that goes back a hundred years.  Hopefully we can get back together on the schedule soon.

Heading to Gallatin tonight.  Thankful for the chance to open the season

I'm thinking this is the first time you and Gallatin have played each other, glad it worked out.  Safe travels, this should be a good one, can't wait to see it!

I hope this appeal works out and they settle this thing. A lot of kids at Shelbyville that have worked hard, done the right thing this year, and didn’t have anything to do with that fight. It seems like that’s the wrong punishment to be punishing all those great kids who did nothing wrong. I would think there’s a better way for TSSAA to handle this situation and put the consequences on the right people. Not the kids.

While I see your points, I don't see how the TSSAA had much choice here.  It only takes one ineligible player to mess up an entire team's season, how many times have we seen that happen?  There has to be consequences to hopefully be a detriment to others doing the same thing.  And by the way, the chances of them winning that appeal is slim to none, closer to none.

That was my thought too. That changes that region and the playoff matchups dramatically.

Yeah and if they both appeal that probably means going into the first of next week not knowing for sure the matchups.  Ultimately though the chances of winning those appeals would be slim to none, they'd be appealing to the same people that handed out the punishment in the first place.

The Monterey Wildcats will be participating in the AFLAC Watertown Christmas Classic. I'm no sure who all else is in the tournament...

Of course this season is at the mercy of the virus...

Watertown of course is the host, plus these 4 are in it: Gallatin, Riverdale, White House and Portland.  I'm not sure who the other 2 are.

What does Hillsboro gain by playing Gallatin??!! Are you kidding? It’s a massive difference. A chance to play Page “at home” (likely at Hillwood or Overton but in Nashville) or settling for a semi-long bus ride to play a solid team in Shelbyville. Some years it’s not a big difference. This year, it is huge!! Have you talked to any of the coaches at Hillsboro? Neither have I. Where would we hear them complaining at anyway? It just makes total sense that they would absolutely want the game to happen for all the reasons mentioned.

I don't believe I've ever heard one person spend so much time advocating for something that will not not ever was going to happen, especially not being a fan of either school.  The TSSAA worked hard and came up with a set of rules that they thought was best for the circumstances, circumstances that by the way they and this entire country have never faced before.  Gallatin's coaches worked very hard to find replacement games just so they could play 10 games.  Region opponent Hunters Lane could've played on Oct 2 but said they didn't want to, so we played a top notch Henry County and lost.  Everything is out of way out of whack this year, it just is what it is.  Most are just thankful that this many games have actually been played.
