I think Clinton is no different than a lot of other programs that I've observed recently that seem to be playing 'atheletes' ahead of 'baseball players' in some positions. Many coaches will give speed and strength a chance ahead of a sharp mind and accurate arm in hopes that the latter will come along eventually. Unfortunately, it's difficult to fight genetics and delayed puberty for some high school players, but persistance will pay off if the 'baseball players' hang in there and keep working. Just my 2 cents.

Taylor Durand, sophomore for Anderson County. 2-0 thus far with 21 SOs. Should be a D1 prospect by the time he's ready to graduate.

I coached the Oak Ridge Middle School team when Taylor Durnad was playing there, and he is very good when he's in a groove. He's a much bigger kid now, but even back then he could change speeds very well, and had a heckuva curve. Not a bad stick either.

Glad to see Taylor Durand pitching well for AC, but too bad it isn't for Oak Ridge where he lives.
