  1. Rebels 7 - Raptors 2; the "laughable" rebels played a solid ballgame!
  2. Thinking maybe you should check some facts "sunglassesatnight". I think Brown's season (2009) was the only season since 2005 that the Rebels didn't at least come in as Runner-Up in the District tournament. Although they had a rough start, Glover's team finished better in the playoffs his first year (2010) than Brown did in his first season (2009). However, I do agree that Brown and Glover have entirely different coaching styles......................
  3. LOL! And they don't have a guy going straight to the pros, a couple of D1 players, and a handful of others that went on to play college ball. Alumbaugh was a good coach but coaching a ton of talent was a different ballgame. Today's Rebel team may not be stacked with an entire lineup of above average talent but it is a group of kids that are willing to work hard, respect the game and play to win. Alumbaugh was here for years and it took time to build that dynasty. FHS baseball is on the rebound and Glover will be at the helm this time around - I still say the FHS underdog will catch some teams by surprise this season.
  4. Those predictions aren't working out too good for IndyEagle09 - you're beloved Eagles just got knocked out of tournament play by my favorites....... the Franklin Rebels!! Tough road to beat Ravenwood twice but the Rebels are showing what they are made of.
  5. Orangestar - many of us that have been around awhile know what kind of coach we got rid of last year: an immature, hot headed, ego maniac that played favorites, lacked discipline with the players he liked, and was a poor excuse for a role model. For any of you that have jobs or manage people, you know it takes time to turn a dept, company or team around when someone new comes in with new ideas and expectations. That's what has been happening in Franklin baseball this year - a new sheriff is in town and the kids that liked last years' regime have really struggled to get on board and as a result it has been a tough year. For all of you "Franklin bashers" out there you need to stay tuned in. We are starting to see some bright spots - like knocking Brentwood out of the District tournament tonight and the kids (that want to be part of this program) are finally starting to believe in themselves and each other. For all of you making predictions his year, here's one for you: Franklin will end the season playing hard and giving teams a run for their money in post season play, and next year........ The coaching staff will be the same staff we have this year and the Rebels will be on top once again.
  6. ath11 - I like the way you think, but I think they were referring to the first base situation at Franklin in the previous post not Indy.
  7. ath11 - your post is the first intelligent post I have seen on this string about Franklin since the season started. Franklin has some talent and some very hard working ball players, but a few individuals don't make a team. Glover is building a team and that's not always easy - their time will come to start chalking up the wins.
  8. What's' wrong at Frankin? Small ball plays (bunting) at the plate getting called at bad times and the infield is creating too many errors.
