Riddle me this o wise one.... How is it that SP has had 3-4 GC transfers and SeqC has 1-2 transfers from Grungy and MC has 0 yet they will be HAMMERED come Monday for recruiting? SP has at-least 5 transfers that will play significant time tonight and will impact the game. I call BS on your constant whining about recruiting. Bottom line.... If your players were happy with the direction of your program they would not be running out the door!! You have made your prediction now leave it alone. We will find out Monday! You should watch your tongue when throwing off on our community. Just because you choose to not represent the orange and black gives you no right to slam us. The kid is innocent until proven guilty. If he's guilty then it was a bad decision, but if he's not guilty of the charges then it will prove to be an easy decision and many will have to eat crow. Back to the game next week. Two years ago Marion County lost Zemen and he isn't replaceable. Last year they lost Walters who isn't replaceable. The two kids that are now occupying those positions are good, solid football players, but those two positions were previously occupied by Superman each season. The kicker from the last several years also isn't replaceable. Those are some big shoes to fill as well. This Marion County team is a good team, but better than 2015 they are not. I still believe they win this game, but it will be worth coming to this season for the first time since around 2005.

Are you sure he was suspended for the pending charges? If so then shame on the school system!! If he was suspended for his actions at school then that's a different story! I said he should not be held accountable for pending charges. If he chose to threaten administrators then he should be held accountable and the Marion County school system should do the same! Education yes! Extra curricular activities, absolutely not!! This game should never be above the morals of OUR community!! You keep going back to the pending charges. I said I think there is more to his suspension than being accused of a crime.

 

Marion County will be fine either way. One player doesn't make a team. I think moves like this hurt more in the long term than you can gain in the present. I am entitled to an opinion, right?

 

As far as SP... the Kennemore kid is a stud!! The QB is very good also! SP is a legit team that MC can not afford to over look!! I only saw them at the jamboree, but the hunger in their eyes was real!! Just don't think they are there yet. But hey, what do I know!!

If he was a student at SP when this stuff all happened he wouldn't be playing football. Kids move all the time looking for a clean slate. That's what people do. Until the kid is proven guilty. I'm going to hold judgement.

Playing football?? I hope our administration would do the same and remove him completely. So you should be able to threaten a teacher and an administrator and go down the road 10 miles and get a clean slate?? All the other incidents should endure the proper processes in place but to say you are entitled a clean slate is naïve! And I would never question the "Captains" ability to direct his ship! Just giving my thoughts about the situation from a players perspective.

Let's see your stance here. What do you do in that situation as administration? Do you tell a 16-year-old kid sorry man you messed up no education you don't have a future anymore? I thought as adults we are supposed to lead and guide our youth to learn from those mistakes? Wouldn't that be awesome if the kid turned around and got an education and made something of himself instead of drifting off down a dark path? I'm just curious would you really cut some down at 16 years old when they come seeking opportunity?

Do you think that maybe, just maybe taking away the things that are the most important to him would be a valuable way to teach him a lesson between right and wrong. Just a thought....

There is a reason that NJ is loosing players LOL! btw who would want to go there when two have already transfered to sp from that place! Little birdy said it ain't what it use to be!   I also think you guys might have gotten one as well if i'm not mistaking even if he was from jasper you still got a NJ transfer last year that was undoubtedly the best players in the area!

this is quite honestly the best post yet concerning this situation! I don't understand why Scottsboro kicked him out of school? This crime was not committed at school? Then why would NJ tell him no as well? Something fishy going on here? I mean after all NJ told him to go on up the road.. wonder why?

There is more to the story for sure. If they removed him only because he is charged with a crime then shame on them. I don't believe much on this site. Only time will tell!

 

To change gears a little.... How does adding a player in the middle of the season affect team chemistry? If I had worked to earn a spot on the team and 2 games into the season a player is picked up and takes my spot, it would be really hard not to be a little resentful. I would consider myself to be a complete team player but that would be a very difficult position to put into....

If this young man hasn't been proven guilty in a court of law, I don't understand how he can be kicked out of a school system. I am a firm believer in innocent until proven guilty. Is there some other reason he has been removed from Jackson County Schools?? Just a thought... Or is this school system passing judgement on him before his day in court??

Wow!!! Last 4 pages I saw is only SP folks stiring the pot PRAYING CRR leaves MC! Bahahahaha!!! Sounds like a bunch of school girls hoping the homecoming queen transfers so they might have a chance to win next year! Make no mistake about it! Boyd is the best team in the east right now. Hopefully we will get another shot at them but they whipped our tail head to head! Great game tonight and we are improving every time we play. Little Zeman has been impressive.

Because those two simpleton's (Roy and OP) have nothing better to do than "cage rattle" Bahahaha! They are like two 10 year old kids. It wouldn't matter if MC beat SP by 250 pts and held SP to -100 yards they would still be on a MC thread bringing up the same crap (lying lips, national news, spy gate, the principal) as always! I just skip their posts when reading through the threads and maybe others will start doing the same. Good luck to the Pirates as I believe they will make a really deep run in the playoffs. They play with a lot of heart and will only improve throughout the season...

I agree that I sometime get caught up in refering to these two bozo's. I have never intentionally stereo typed the people of SP. I have nothing bad to say to about the 99% of the SP supporters on this site. Most add meaningful insight to a variety of topics.

In most years that SP has scored a lot of pints this is what happened.

1) starters played 1 series in 3rd quarter to seal the win or start the mercy rule (which wasn't a rule during all of Vic's years)

2) we had 10-15 seniors on a 30 man roster and it would have been murder to put a 14 year old 1A freshman against a 3A or 4A 18 year old senior, sometimes 19-20 years in a few teams cases

3) all we had were freshman and Sophmores that started and there really wasn't a JV

4) coaches liked to run up the score in basketball with full court presses the whole game, so we just returned the favor in football

5) and most of all, as many of you have said, we had more athletes on our entire roster than most 2-4A schools. You can't tell a kid to lay down if in 1 play he can score from 80 yards out.

 

Through the years many have envied Vic and many still do. Much of that envy is hate. Oh well, many of you voted for you know who, and now you hate him. It comes with the job.

PM you seem like a very good, knowledgable person. I can only speak of one instance because that is the only one I saw with my own eyes. Vic had a personal beef with a former coach, which we all know who that is, and used his team (high school kids) to "get back" this coach. There was never a doubt who was the more talented team on the field. It is a fact that SP, over the last 10 years, has been blessed with talent in every aspect of their teams. With that said, I believe that as a coach you are the leader of young men. You have to take the high road in that position. He chose not to. There are many ways to keep the score down while teaching these young men sportsmanship. For example: Put in your backups.... (and there were backups available). If the other team chooses not to do the same then simply take a knee and punt. No one gets hurt. That is a slap in the face in itself. Who cares if the other team scores a few points. There are many other ways not to kick an opponent when they are down. If his beef with this coach ran that deep then maybe he should have handled it the way most would. But it is never an excuse to use 15-18 year old kids to settle your beef. I would expect the same this weekend. We know that SP is very young. We also know they will give it 100% because Vic is their leader and they will follow him without question. Again I hope both sides compete with integrity, and the night is injury free.
