  1. I guarantee you that the student that got the "benefit" from this as far as scholarship and getting to play was not very grateful for it. He embarrassed his school at many games and definitely did not show the Christian attitude or language that Grace should be promoting. And he was not such a great influence to the other kids at that school either. And way more than one family is going through this. The softball team and baseball team have no chance at appeals for their post seasons and both teams are on tract to a region appearance. The volleyball team has a chance at an appeal, but this years junior class who will be seniors next year have been working on this team since their 8th grade year where they played up... they are expected to win STATE this year! and these girls only have a faint hope that an appeal goes through. Not to mention the soccer teams and wrestling team who are incredible and will have no chance at post seasons. I know that it was meant to just "help someone out" but they could have ended up costing hard working athletes the titles that they deserve. Sorry to rant on you post @tk20football but I just don't think that you are aware of the extent this one decision has effected people and the lack of thankfulness on the receiving end of that "gift".
  2. All this defending Grace crap is getting on my nerves... I go to Grace and I am directly impacted by this decision and I love that people want to defend our school and say that it was just an "ignorant decision" but if we are a school that is supposed to live by higher standards then the rules should definitely be known. It is clearly stated in the TSSAA rule book that that is illegal and the least this "anonymous compassionate giver" should have checked to make sure that he/she was following the simple rules... I talked to an elementary parent a few weeks ago (dont remember the name) and she is a single mom with one child and her husband died in iraq. when she came to the school and said I want my daughter to come to Grace but we can't afford it she was told we do not do scholarships... If we are trying to send out missions then this should be an option for parents.. this child was not involved in sports they were in elementary and no one stepped up for her... This is ridiculous and I am more than angry about it.
  3. There is a 36,000 dollar fine. And not only do football and basketball have a year of post season suspension. Every sport at Grace has a one year post season suspension. I think that some of the administration should lose their position because they are not leading this school like the kids deserve.
