  1. If this was true, I think the boys would much rather play for Halls than to go to AC. where they already know players that they have been playing with since they were 9 yrs. old.. Find some other lies to make up. But who wants to play for an underachieving Halls team? Heck, who even wants to live in Halls?
  2. The Admirals will definitely be in the running once again next year. They return a great coach and 10 players who saw significant amount of playing time at certain points throughout the season. The Admirals will rely on pitching A TON next year, and have enough to make it back to state come tournament time. There will be many players who will battle for spots and who will have to earn their spots throughout the season, but their lineup will look something like this (grades in parentheses): C- Evan Surrett/Cameron Strickland?? (D). Huge hole needs filling, don't know if they have anyone. 1B- Chandler Vannoy/Nick Summers (C+). Both need improvement, but could be solid contributers. 2B- Scott Miller/Pannell (C+). If Scott can improve this offseason, should be very solid hitter. SS- Delmonico (A+). Best player in the state, along with Pfeifer. 3B- Simcox (A). Breakout year this year, should be even better next year in the 3/4 hole. LF- Strickland/Huggins (B-). Strickland had decent year, needs to get alot stronger. CF- Braden Urevick/X. Taylor ©. Virtual unknowns here, someone needs to step up. RF- X. Taylor/D. Huggins ©. Same as above. DH- Nick Summers/Vannoy (B-). Will need to step up big next year. P- Pfeifer (A+). Best pitcher in the state. P- Derek Chandler (A). Very good year, pitched great against Cville in state, should turn heads next year P- Xander Taylor (B+). Needs to improve consistency, get stronger. Very solid #3 starter next year. P- Michael Ledbetter (B-). Has tons of potential, plus arm. Needs to improve consistency.
  3. Congrats Gibbs on the championship and way to represent East TN baseball.
  4. Congrats to all the seniors on the team for winning their 3rd straight state title and continuing the legacy!! Ethan Bennett had a record breaking season and Nick Williams never lost a ballgame. Here's a scary thought.. Nicky and Phillip both return next season.
  5. I think what everyone is trying to say is that, for a kid as highly touted as D-No, there is no acceptable reason he should pitch only 3 innings in the state tournament. Even if he threw a complete game the Monday before and pitched against Halls, a player of his caliber should be going the distance on the mound game one of the tournament. I think D-No's legacy is unfortunately hurt by his showing at the tournament, or the visible lack there of. All the people who love to argue the Pfeifer/Norris debate should now see who the premier pitcher is in TN. 15 IP, 25 K's, 0 ER, 6 BB, 7 H's. Those are Pfeifer's numbers from the tournament, and he is the only pitcher in the history of the state who is 3-0 in state title games. Both are tremendous pitchers, but D-No's lack of innings and facing quality opponents is what puts him behind Pfeifer in my book.
