  1. Actually Stink, I believe YOU played on those teams that hung 70. I stood on the sidelines. Doesnt mean I agree with it. Meadows might do the same thing, I dont see what that has to do with anything though. I dont play for or coach with Meadows. Im surprised how all of the sudden its "my beloved" Scott Meadows. I didnt see you telling him "Hey coach, lets not hang 70 on Wartburg or Chuckey Doak".

Your right you were on the sidelines so why are you even on here talking crazy, and you're right we didn't complain about putting up 70 back then, but we were also the U of high school football back then...You always seem to have something to say about other teams running up the score and going to two when we did the same thing. Act like you have a lil class for once...Are you mad that you never got in the game or what?? You make the city of Alcoa look very bad on here and I'm just sick of reading it. like I said earlier, sounds like you're hating on Greeneville to me.....congrats again GREENEVILLE for bringing back the gold ball to East tn. and sorry for high jacking your thread.

  2. There is nothing to be jealous of Mr. Rainer. I dont see what going for 2 does right there. Kick the XP and move on. If you get the ball back, run the ball. if you score then so be it. You can call me anything you want, I think my screen name, like yours, pretty much gives away who I am. Im not trying to hide anything and never will.

Well like I said you making yourself look lame or do I need to go into details. You act like we didn't blow out teams or run up the score...Yall didnt even think about getting in the game til the 4th with a few min left when we played and you know it...Nothing wrong with going for the state record because those kids deserve it. You just sound like a hater to me and most of us ALCOA fans...

  3. Nothing but pure JEALOUSY on your part, Pre-Rankin days, Alcoa would try to hang a 100 on any and everybody! By the way, what was the score of your state championship game this year? :P

Congrats to Greeneville for the scoring record and for bringing the Gold Ball back to East Tennessee!!

It sure does seem like he's jealous, but I don't understand why. Let Greeneville enjoy their championship and chill out. Are you upset that about something? Did the Devils do something to you? You're making yourself look lame Tornado74 or should I call you by your Gov't name?...smh

  4. You'll love the Carpet aLcOa!

2 State Champions Going at it will be huge!

Did the Devils Gain any respect tonight?

    They ARE a GREAT team!

Yes they are a really good team...Should be a great game next year and hopefully we'll be 4-0 before we make the trip up....See ya next year

  5. Running up scores on teams you already had beat!!!! WOOOOOO

Will you stop HATING on Greeneville GAVIN!!! Yeah I called you out because this is uncalled for and you know it! Your beloved Scott Meadows would do the same thing...did you team not put up 70 a few times back when you played?? didn't your teams lack of DISCIPLINE cost Alcoa a state title back in 01?? Sorry Devil fans that SOME of us Alcoa fans don't know how to act, but you'll find out next year that our program is 1st class and most of our fans are very respectful....Congrats on bringing another gold ball back east!!

  6. Congrats to Greeneville from a die-hard Alcoa fan ;) You guys dominated and kept your cool. Tornado74 u need to stop hating on the Devils win and state record, because you and I both know that YOUR favorite coach MEADOWS would go for 2 in that situation and probably score 80 on that team. As for Trezevant.....smdh How in the world did they even make it to this game??? Is West tn football that bad??? and where is the discipline from their coaches?? That was pitiful and hard to watch, but once again CONGRATS to the Devils and this will make next yrs match up between Alcoa/Greeneville even bigger! For those that didn't know the game will be played in Greeneville...Looking forward to making the trip up! :)

  7. Tornadogold: Why don't you get off your self righteous high horse. Sounds to me that you may be a bit worried about having to share the stage. Granted, GHS may not be the next best thing to sliced bread, but there are other teams that are pretty good besides, what's the name of that school? Alcoopa, no Alocoa. Wonder how good you'd be if you didn't get all of Knoxville's finest?

I'm thinking we'd still be pretty darn good considering no on our roster lives in knoxville...nice try though ;)

  8. I'd like to know how many kids playing for Alcoa actually grew up there? I bet it makes the ones that did feel good sitting on the sidelines watching the recruited Knoxville intercity kids win State Championships for them. But as long as they get a ring and the school gets another gold ball that's all that counts. Your TSSAA payment is due at the end of this month this year, they need Christmas money.

Yeah, because Brandon warren, Dustin Lindsey, Joei fiegler, Randall cobb, Logan love, Martin white, Rae sykes, Bart hicks, Darrell tate, alex green, jamar walker, drew miller, mark avery, josh dossett, sam thompson, adrian womac, jaron toney, jalik toney, taharin tyson, darrell warren, chase james, steven isom, lajuan warfield, marcel walden, troy hodge, vee hambrick, ezekiel koko, jarod crenshaw, dee herbert, daniel and nathaniel robinson, jonivan henry never went to alcoa elementary and middles schools. They were all paid to come play at alcoa. Face it, everyone of these kids who have helped alcoa win these state titles have pretty much been in the school system for years. Deal with it. Why don’t you look at the real reason alcoa is winning state, these kids put in the hard work day after day, week after week, all year long. None of these kids want to be the class to lose it for alcoa so they work themselves into a great football team. They have coaches who push them. Coaches who make good players great and they average players into good high school players. that’s how they are winning games. Everyone is buying into what they are doing at alcoa and its working, is it gonna last forever, NO but right now its going pretty good so just give it a rest with all the recruiting crap. Yes they have had players transfer in. tyler robinson started into the alcoa system in the 8th grade, chris shiverdecker(family lives in Alcoa and sister and cousins all attended or still attend alcoa) austin tallant, derek evans. Kyrus lanxter (who was hardly a huge football prospect) and brian sommer all transferred in. but the bottom line is these kids didn’t all come as cant miss players. They all worked their tails off and made themselves great high school ball players. but all of you guys are right. the city of alcoa never produces any good players. They didnt have albert davis sr, dutchie parker, willie lundy, billy williams, shannon mitchell, jamie henry, chad smith, kevin jackson, rusty chambers, albert davis jr. they produce a championship in 2000 with james rainer, jonathan meschendorf, johnathan harris, michael george, daniel pierce, tremayne garner, jerome robinson, jeffrey davis, jamel sankey.....all of these players were recruited

  9. I'd like to know how many kids playing for Alcoa actually grew up there? #s 1,2,4,5,29,33,12 were all born and raised in ALCOA and yal will get a big dose of all of em...No need to list anymore. Anymore ?s

  10. Dr. Diandre Johnson has a ring to it. We've got a fine intern program across the river and lots of contacts. Bet he would look mighty handsome in that Royal Blue & Vegas Gold :D

Seriously, congratulations. Enjoy every moment of the rec league years. :thumb:

I know a few track guys from CAK...I trained Justin Emerson for the past 4 yrs in AAU...They have some great kids over there...good luck this week against Kingston...Lookin forward to round 2 in a few weeks

  11. Just to give everyone a heads up, THE ALCOA TORNADOES just won the league championship and finished undefeated, so the future looks great for the ALCOA NATION!!....These kids are special and will be something else in high school....CONGRATS TO ALL THE KIDS,COACHES,CHEERLEADERS, AND PARENTS!!!............SO FOR PEOPLE THAT SAY WE RECRUIT AND ALL THAT NON-SENSE HERE'S SOMETHING FOR YOU TO PONDER ON FOR A FEW YEARS...These kids are home-grown straight from ALCOA!...Remember the name DIANDRE JOHNSON JR!!! He's 10 yrs old and a 4-time all-american sprinter!...By far the fastest kid in the state for his age. ;)

  12. He may be that fast, he may not. I've never seen the kid play. Keep in mind, though, that even digital readouts will differ enough to make this conversation moot. But my point was that he said that they had MULTIPLE guys who could run 4.4's or under. Public high schools in Tennessee do not have that type of speed. They may be fast, but not that. I remember reading that when Rich Brooks took over for Kentucky 7(?) years or so ago, they only had a couple of guys themselves who were 4.4's or under. So am I to believe that a rural high school team in Tennessee has more speed than an SEC team? They may be fast, they may have one guy who's a legit 4.4, they might even have another close, but let's be realistic.

What do you mean public schools don't have that kind of speed? I had that kind of speed and 3 or 4 other guys on our state championship team did also...I played back in 2000 by the way and we had way too much speed for our own good. I was a legit 4.37 and I can back that up, so to say public schools dont have that type of speed is incorrect...The Devils just may be that fast

  13. Reb why do you always insist on watering down the number of OOZ players that have been on Maryville's roster? Since you know all of the statistics sir, what's the percentage of OHR(Oldfield/Hall/Rockford) players on Alcoa's roster? Because truth be told, those are the kids that opponents should worry about :thumb:

I agree and I bet it's much higher than 37%

  14. I really don't have a dog in this fight and I respect what Alcoa accomplishes year in and year out. Being an old ex successful football player I know about the work it takes to be successful.

But I can't buy into what appears to be your population arguement.

Benton County's population as of 7/09 was at 16,025 and has declined by 3% since 7/03. (16,000 pop. per school)

Blount County's population as of 7/09 was at 122,700 and has increased by 9.2% since 7/03. (30,675 pop. per school)

    Just saying....

I'm going to say this again, back in the 90's when Alcoa was going 6-6, 3-7,5-5 with this open enrollment, where was all this complaining???...I was part of a state championship team at Alcoa and our fs was an all-state player and probably the best safety to ever play at Alcoa....He LIVED IN GREENBACK HIS WHOLE LIFE!! but no one ever said anything back then...Now that the gold balls are stacking up in Blount Co. everyone wants to complain. You could take all the OOZ players off our state championship team and we would have still won state, because most of our GREAT athletes are born and raised on 1 of the 13 streets!!.....And I can give you names ;)

  15. History tells you all that Fulton starts out "slow" and always gets hot at the season moves forward. Alcoa better not overlook Fulton because they do not need to be the excuse for jump starting another strong push for the Falcons football program.

I don't know if it was the last time they met there or not but I do recall Fulton knocking off Alcoa on the Tornadoes home field back in Week 3 of the 2006 season. Could lightning strike twice?

Nope! Fulton better get in some kind of shape before next week or by the 3rd Alcoa will just pound the rock...I've noticed several players cramping early in the 3rd quarters of the Powell and AE games...Fulton can be a good team though because the athletes are there...

  16. Yeah I am not complaining about our running dominance but i believe that we could be even better if we utilized our atheletes in the passing game as well. I think that Tallant is athletic enough to use him in some of the ways that Rankin used Cobb. Play action fakes and role outs. Get him on the move and allow him to throw while rolling out. He doesn't have to be a 5 step drop back passer. Just utilize the tight ends and ISOM. I wonder if he Tallent can throw a 10 yard out to isom or a hitch. I would love to see some more creativity. But I know that is not typically Rankins style. They would just be a more complete team. I love them though and love the way they win. No complaints about that. So if they can't be more creative and still win than stick to ole faithful and pound that rock.

both of alcoa's passes were off boots and rollouts, and they do throw the hitch because vee caught one....so everything that you mentioned in your post is used, even the deep out to Isom...

  17. Surprised it took 6 pages. I think Im going to take a trip to Georgia this weekend to see if I can recruit some players from down there to fill out spots next year on our team.

Im bout sick of hearing about this ooz players stuff...when alcoa was going 6-6, 6-4,5-5 where was all this ooz talk then?? The rules havent changed and we still had ooz players....the starting fs on our team lived in greenback and was an all-state player and we never heard anyone complaining...If alcoa had a program back in the day like we do now it would have really been scary. Now ponder on that for a minute ;)
