  1. Just wanted to say congratulations to the girls for a great win. They looked good and beat probably the best team out of Kentucky by 8 points. Now they just need a repeat performance tomorrow. Good luck girls!
  2. My son is in the 8th grade and can hit from 37 yards. He plays for westwood in manchester.
  3. I think this one is easy 24 - 7 Warren County. Until Coffee finds some speed, teams are just going to blow by them.
  4. While my daughter was attending summer basketball camp at MTSU, she was referred to Tom Insell for guidence on a good AAU program to get involved with. He referred us to Tennessee Pride; however, I cannot find any contact information on their web site. I have left them an email and received no response. Can anyone please help with a contact person associated with Tennessee pride. My daughter is 10 and is in the 5th grade. Thanks
  5. Hello, my daughter has played the last two years for the Manchester storm. She is a very talented player and plays up one year and sometimes she has played up two years from her age level. This year she is in fifth grade and will be 11 in January. When and where do tryouts occur. The reason I am asking is that I was told by MTSU's new point guard that she needed to play for this team.
  6. No, my child is a receiver and DE. Lyda is a really fast kid, he can really run the sweeps but needs to work on grinding it out sometimes. Your right Blackman really steam rolled Tullahoma tonight. Both teams had really bad games. I agree with you on the fact that Coffee will be good in a few years; they have some really talented freshman and the kids from the middle school and jr high are going to be a great class too. I just wished CC threw the ball a little more. I thought with the new offence they might go to the air a little more but dosent look like the philosophy has changed much.
  7. Thats what we are working on together. He comes in and reads all the posts. I am just trying to help him make and informed decision. You know be involved in his life. I guess that makes me weird these days. Anyways thanks for the suggestions. We watched CC get blownout tonight; they need more speed on their team. When you live really close to two different High Schools it is a big decision.
  8. I am from Hendersonville so I am not really loyal to any program.
  9. I was not trying to belittle anyone; therefore, I did not use specific names. I just started reading all the negative comments about the coach in some other post and wanted to voice my opinion. He is a great coach and he deserves credit for his time and effort. I know for a fact that last year the best team was not on the court if you know what I am talking about. The political mess needs to end in Coffee County and the best players need to be on the court. It is very hard for a new coach to do this if he is in an unsupportive environment. Lets all just back him and see what happens. I am looking forward to the "dream team" years myself. That is if they can all stay healthy.
  10. Yes, his school runs out of the Wing T set most of the time, but I read in the paper where Coffee County was going to more of a Multiple look this year with the installment of the Spread. Thanks for all of the replies.
  11. I have an eigth grader that is pretty talented and wants to play and be recognized in high school. Which program, Coffee County or Tullahoma, would be best for him and why?
  12. Coffee county has a great Coach and yes it takes time to build a program. I understand that in high school you get the players in your area, but one must also take into consideration how those players have been devloped in previous years. Coach Muckle understands this concept, that is why he is over the county youth basketball league as well as the youth AAU program. This kind of coach is few and far between. He does not have to be involved in the youth programs, but he donates his time so that the girls will be better off when they get to the high school level. Another consideration one must consider is the players he is dealing with; with the Morgan girl being an exception he has not had a lot of talent to work with. I think Pat Summit's father said it best when he said, " You cant take a mule to a thoroughbred race." The older girls that played on the team last year were not even on any AAU teams during the off season; therefore, the team should not expect to have a good season. In any sport the games are won during the off season. Give the coach a chance and understand that he has a very good understanding on how to build a great program. The girls he will be working with in the future, the freshman and sophomores, will bring many wins to the coach because they put in the time and effort.
