And they also lost to Science Hill by 69 points....... Crockett's 5 wins this season came against 5 of the worst teams in Northeast TN: Sullivan Central, Volunteer, Chuckey Doak, Sullivan East and Unicoi County. They were blown out by every other team that they played. Science Hill's 3 losses this season came against 3 of the best teams in the state: Brentwood Academy, Siegel and Sevier County. You cannot compare the two teams at all.

You've got to be joking. Crockett continues to field the second/third worst team in the conference. A change in coaching didn't change anything. Their trip to the 1st round of the playoffs this year was a joke and everyone knows it. No kid in their right mind(that is actually hoping to get a scholarship and play at the next level)would actually choose to go there to play football. Who knows. Maybe Mikey's changed his mind about playing college football......

He's still at SH? What's the holdup? You're right about the coaches. Coach Good will be just as tough on him at Crockett as Coach Cutlip would at The Hill. What I know of Mikey, I like but surely the kid didn't just expect to be given a starting spot on the basketball team over guys who worked their tails off for months to earn their spots.

Spoke with someone tonight that told me as far as they know, he is not currently playing basketball at Crockett. That's all I know though.

No. It's some kid with the last name Carden. Apparently, he's been playing at Hampton the last few years but isn't playing this year. Said he's transferring to SH next year. I heard the same thing about the Valentine kid. Heard he was telling Boone players and fans last night that he wants to come back to Boone.

My buddy said this kid did play for Hampton but isn't playing this year. He said the kid told him he's transferring to Science Hill to play basketball next year. His last name is Carden.

Talked to a buddy today that said a kid from Hampton is transferring to Science Hill next year to play basketball. You all know anything about this?

Was he not already playing for SH? If not, why? Was he not good enough? The last thing I heard about him was that he wasn't sure he even wanted to play basketball because he wanted to focus primarily on football. I'm sorry to hear about his grandmother.

This is true but I don't believe he's playing basketball. He was on the team at SH, I believe, but had only practiced with them. I don't think he had seen any game action. From what I was told, he just wants to play football and participate in track.

I disagree. The QB at Crockett only looks good when he plays against terrible competition. When playing against good, even just OK competition, he's pretty bad. McGue at SH is 10x the QB this kid is. Had breakfast with a few buddies earlier, one of whom works for one of the national recruiting services. I brought this situation with White up and he said this move really baffles him. He said that what a lot of players don't seem to understand is that when you play on a team with multiple good players(like SH)and you still stand out, that speaks very highly of your game. However, when you play for a team that isn't very good(like Crockett)and stand out, well, that obviously doesn't speak nearly as highly of your game. He said that in his opinion, this move will end up hurting White in the long run, especially if he is hoping to play at the next level. He said that if White really is hoping to play at the next level, he should've stayed at SH or if he wanted to transfer, at least transferred to a school as good or better than SH.

numuts, I started a topic in the Football forum but figured I'd bring the question here cause you might know. What's the story on Mikey White? Heard that as of this week he's no longer at SH and has transferred to Crockett. The kid was turning into a pretty good player on the football field. Why would he transfer to Crockett when their football team is awful? I could see maybe DB, TN High, Elizabethon etc if he wasn't happy at SH but from all accounts, he was. He was still enrolled last week and from what I was told made no mention of possibly transferring. Something seems fishy about this.

To even make a comment like that is utterly ridiculous(comparing this year's DB team to the great Topper teams of the 90's). Coach Morgan will never be the head coach of a team as good as those SH teams of the 90's. Never. Why? Because the man just isn't a very good coach, and tonight is only further proof of this. He has twice the talent on his team this year that SH has yet he still can't win.

Final. SH-57 DB-53. Going to be honest, I'm somewhat surprised by this. This is easily SH's least talented team in 15+ years, while this is supposedly DB's most talented team in that long. If DB can't beat the Toppers this year, when will they? SH is only going to get better next year with the arrival of multiple talented JV/Freshman players being moved to Varsity. This was supposed to be DB's year. Heck, even Charlie Morgan apparently compared this year's squad to those amazing Topper teams of the 90's. Well, Coach Morgan, I've got a little something to tell you. Your team is good but they don't touch those George Pitts coached SH teams of the 90's. Not. Even. Close. Go Toppers!

Hearing SH beat DB 82-36. Is this score correct? The Lady Toppers were only up 35-26 at halftime. So, the Lady Indians only scored a total of 10 points after the half, while the Lady Toppers scored 47? WOW.

True but in all fairness, DB played a much tougher opponent. Knox Webb is 5-0 with wins over some very good teams. Toppers beat Lenoir City, which I believe is 2-4. Cocke County will be a better test for SH on Friday.

Very nice win for Hampton.

JV or Freshman? I've heard there's a lot of talent on both squads. Like I said in another post, if people are going to "get" The Hill, they're going to have to do it this year because this is the only chance they're going to get for a while.

Good luck to Hampton but after seeing both teams play SH, I've got to go with Elizabethton. I don't believe Hampton has anyone that can keep the Clark kid for 'Betsy in check.
