That has been my experiance . i hate going to Memphis schools because im afraid that one of our kids could get shot. Not that this is the schools fault but... Its still something Im concerned about to say the least. Im not the only one either. i have talked to caoches that have said they were afraid to win because of the reactions from the crowds. By the way 4 of The Greenfield bus tires were slashed and one blew out on the way home . THP confirmed tampering To think that 60 ball players lives were at stake is terifying. So the question is who slashed the tires? I dont think it was anyone from Greenfield.

Consider the source and never fear that kind of rabble. I saw the last half and it was deplorable. Then they were throwing themselves down on the turf when it was over like they couldn't believe that they had just gotten beat. They had 3 qtrs to let that soak in.

I understand that but saying you wouldve scored 21 more points I dont think you would have. The adjustment Smyrna made at halftime basically ended the option play. Yall were getting hit almost as soon as you got the ball in the backfield with the exception of the last drive. Look Maryville won and did what they had to to win I understand that but people saying they weren't impressed with Shs sound dumb. You got whooped pretty good in the second half and 9 out of 10 times you would lose that game in that situation. So I guess maryville isnt very good either then. I mean you guys are making excuses for why you didn't play well the second half and you won. I dont get it. It seems like insecurity to me because you know in the second half you didn't look very good. Fact is you breezed by and a more disciplined team like Blackman would beat yall there. I say Blackman because I believe they are about equal with Smyrna but you wouldn't matchup well with them at all. Now obviously they werent there but I'm trying to prove a point here. Now you did deserve it I'm not saying you didn't because you did. This is not trying to take away from your team but to knock some sense into your posters. I mean I feel like we were watching two different ballgames or something. Maybe somebody slipped me something in my drink that made me imagine a different world but yall make it sound like you dominated and that was certainly not the case. Dude , you are certainly entitled to your opinion and Smyrna has a great team. We did not play that well in the 2nd half but no need to hash that again. I believe as many do on here and other places that MARYVILLE had your # going into the locker room at the half, if all things were the same as in the 1st, but they were not so MARYVILLE adapted and survived to win.

When all of the teams play with kids that should be going there then they should all play each other. If Maryville and Alcoa want to continue to go after all of the tallent then go play with Webb and the other private schools.

Why don't we just impose a ban on all kids from going to either school and then in about 100 years the rest of you can win a game or two. What dope you are.

Oak Ridge is closing the gap on Maryville. Still, they have a ways to go. Gotta get Oak Ridge's feeder programs up to speed. Maryville players look as if they have been well coached since they were children.

I like the backfield of Hall at Q-Back, Zulliger at fullback, Normand at tailback, or a mixture of the three. All of them can play any of the positions.

I would be inclined to agree with that line up.

I have a nephew that is a sophomore this year at Maryville , I had him and his fellow players read it tonight. They were silent and taken back by this they will all be praying for him as will I.

Maryville needs to keep playing well. The execution by Maryvilles offense since the William Blount game has been great. I don't expect Maryville to put up huge numbers against Oak Ridge because OR is very good on defense. If Maryville can put up 30 on Oak Ridge I like their chances.

 

Maryville's defense has been playing well lately. Rocky Fludd and Bradley Zulliger scare me to death. Fludd is a very good tailback with breakaway speed. Zulliger scares me because he can make a broken play into a big play.

I move that no matter what happens the rest of the year the west and maryville rebels meet up on december 5 and play another game ot see who is truely better now....na now on a seruous note...does anybody know if there is a team in 5A that can handle wests explosiveness??? they've blewout the last 8 out of 9 teams they've played. They look to me to be too explosive to handle right now...keep it goin west finish building your legacy. West could become a power house for the next couple years.
