On an interesting note I was perusing the MP website website and I went to their TN state rankings and they had Alcoa at 1, Maryville 2, Greeneville 3, Elizabethton 19, and surprisingly Science Hill at 25. I can't report on any others because I would have to join to turn the page.

  2. It was 42-0 at the half. 2nd and 3rd string played the 2nd half. West Greene help with turnovers deep on their side of the field and bad punts in the 2nd half. Players ran the ball and scored that will probably never score again in high school. GHS didn't try to run up the score, it just happened because of poor tackling by West Greene and excited to be playing sophomores.

  3. KEV-O, the future looks bright. The Freshman/BTeam lost one game this year and beat up DB. The 8th graders didn't lose a game and were barely tested. There are some really good athletes coming throw Greeneville in the next 3 or 4 years. I look for a better team next year, if everyone stays health.

  4. Like most High Schools, Greeneville is run 1st and 2nd and sometimes 3rd too. We pass very little but have speed at WR and the QB has a strong arm. Remember, Greeneville has pretty much the same O-line as last year and they block well. The DEF is young as we lost almost all the starters. DEF is the week spot but they are and will get better as the year goes along. Just not sure they are there yet.

  5. I have no doubt that the Devils will score but will they score as much as Alcoa? If they don't start mixing up their DEF with 4 and 5 man fronts and stunting more; then stopping Alcoa's running game will be a big problem. They wont have to throw. MW ran all over us and unless something drastic changes, I see the same with Alcoa. Defense on the field to much and slowing down in the 4th. This game will make both teams better for sure but unless the Devils can work some magic on the Defensive Line, then I think Alcoa will avenge last years loss. I'll be pulling hard for the Devils!!! Go Greene!!

  6. Well as most people know the big loss of CD was Julius Montgomery aka Juice. CD also lost Logan Collins a 3 year starter at QB. They lost their backup QB as well Matt Smith.. The biggest hole for them to fix will be the QB position if they can get someone to come in and do a decent job CD will have a good year.

They Return Bryce Malone and Tyler Coe at RB they have some good young backs coming up so the RB position should be solid this year. The OLine should be pretty good this season. WR i'm not sure what is coming back it was a big hole for us last year with the WR'S Dropping a lot of balls that should of been caught. If we return all the WR'S back we should be good in that area cause last season should of been a lesson for them so they can only improve right? lol

Defense should be pretty good about the same from last year. good enough to make stops and slow down teams..

It should be a good year for CD if they can find a QB..

Any chance the Sexton kid might play again? He was a good QB as I remember and should be a senior this year. He didn't play last year, so maybe he just lost interest.

  7. Thanks Coach, but I found the radio station that carries Fulton football on Netgear and I can listen to it with my iphone...nice try getting my number though, but I'm not that kind of girl :flower:

Barb, you're not the first he has tried that on. Coach, have you ever succeeded with that line? Big brother always said you was a sly dog!!! ;) JK

  8. Here's something to think about. Entering the game, Boles is leading the conference in rushing with BJ in 3rd place by about 30 yards. I believe BJ will have more than 100 yard lead after tonights game. Don't think the coaches don't realize this. They would like nothing more than for BJ to win the rushing title over Boles. Given the rest of thier schedule, he will probably win it anyway.

  9. I have heard that South Greene is currently under the student population of 3A and qualify for 2A. If this is the case, do you think they move down to 2A in the next reclassification in order to get away from GHS in football? If so, they will have to eat tons of crow that has been spread the last 2 years!! I believe they will if the oppertunity presents itself.
