Because the only thing that matters is a gold ball, it doesn't matter what classification or how good you are?
Simple answer...No.
-
Rice is in way over his head. This isn't 3-aaa where you get to place Powell, halls, AC, HV etc every night. You can't finish 3rd-4th in 4-aaa at Bearden and expect to stay there very long.
How did Bearden finish before this year? Were they 1 or 2 each year? Under Buckner? Under Tate? Come on now...you don't expect to be first or second each year in that district unless you are Farragut, right?
-
At least he had Hit-After-Hit to fall back on.
Yeah saw them this weekend...they are good too.
-
Only time will tell
That's brilliant. The Bearden administration made a slam dunk hire. The boosters and alumni will love CR. They will be back at state next year!

With all of the coachng changes in Knox County this year, you have to wonder why anyone would want to coach there. The pay is low, even for football coaches and principal's are not willing to make spots on faculty for coaches when academics or course offerings are at stake. Not a good time to coach in Knox Co.
They ran off a winning guy at West (girls BB), winning coahces at Karns SB and Halls SB. Powell fb quit, sb quit, Baseball quit and the list goes on.

From my understanding it has been confirmed that he is the new coach at Bearden. Should be great news for Karns fans
Did I tell you several weeks ago?
-
Do you think he meant "power clean?" Better re-check the board in the weightroom. Those lift totals were off by a lot. The guys are much stronger than when Coach Blade started.

Amazing happenings at a top level program.

I think not! Bearden would be a high pressure job. Why would Rice leave a place that does not even have summer conditioning for the team and move where the expectation from the boosters would be over the top for the same amount of money? It would be a lateral move for Rice that would involve much more work and time away from his family.
Good question.
-
Do you really believe Rice would be a even in the top five prospects for this job? I don't think so!
I think it's a done deal.
-
Good luck Coach Rice (Karns) in your new job!

Two great games in the 1A bracket at Riverdale. Eagleville pulls out a 1-0 win over Knox Grace with only 6 hits between the 2 of them. Then a 10 inning thriller between Huntingdon and Friendship as Huntingdon takes it 2-1. Wow talk about great pitching and some great defensive plays by all teams. Round 2 today.
Grace will struggle with good pitching.

Bearden beats Franklin 7-5. Franklin looked good early and held the lead for the first five innings until the Bulldogs put up 4 in the bottom of the fifth. Bearden will play Walker Valley tomorrow, Franklin takes on Germatown in an elimination game.
Bearden is killing the ball right now!

Im not so sure about cumberland county. Ive been to the field a few times and honestly I wasn't very impressed. From the looks of it, it looked like the coaches really didnt put much work into the field. Ive spent a few yrs in brushy mountain prison, and I would have to say our so called made up baseball field that we played on wasnt any different then what I saw at cumberland co.. So if your gonna throw names of top facilities out there make em a good one.
The field at Brushy is scary just because of where it is...I have played there three times. We always lost. I was glad we did. I agree about Cumberland, facility nice, field average.
-
I think Grace will have a problem adjusting to good pitching. The first round will be a problem. They should pitch well but the question is will they hit? I saw them against an average AAA pitcher and it took them 6 innings to adjust to the velocity. One of the Grace parents pointed out that they needed to see more "good" pitching like they were seeing that day.

LOOKOUT VALLEY IN CHATT TOWN HAS A AMAZING FIELD AND SOME OF THE BEST BALLPARK FOOD YOU CAN FIND AND ROCKWOOD HAS A NICE SET UP FOR A SMALLER SCHOOL
We really liked Sequoyah's set up too.
-
If you are throwing Stone in the mix then you have to consider Cumberland County. Nicer facilities than Stone in my opinion. Catholic is nicer than either so must be higher on list than #5
Cumberland Co's field is nice too.

Lets hear what yall think. HEres mine
Gibbs
Farragut
Catholic
Campbell Co
Hardin Valley
First two I thought of were Gibbs and Farragut. Kingsport D-B is truly amazing, I rate their facility #1, Gibbs and Farragut #2 and #3. Stone Memorial has a wonderful baseball/softball facility (if they are E. Tn) they are #4. I like Catholic for #5...just because I can't think of another one.

DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT NORTH GREEN, DO THEY HAVE GOOD PITCHING HITTING OR WHAT, ONLY TEAM TO RUN RULE ROCKWOOD HAS BEEN GRACE AND LETS FACE IT UNAKA ROCKWOOD AND NG WOULD HAVE TO COMBINE TO COMPETE WITH GRACE IM A AREA GUY IM TRYIN TO FIGURE OUT WITCH GAME TO GO WATCH I WANT TO SEE A GOOD GAME NOT GRACE BY 20 BUT IF YOU THINK ROCKWOOD WILL GET BEAT IN 5 ILL SAVE THE 3 HOUR DRIVE
Grace will run rule. Drive to Bearden and watch them and Jeff Co. That will be a game!

Farragut will advance well, because they are Farragut. Jeff County will come limping into Bearden after a poor showing with the bats against DB. They had a huge win against Science Hill and were a little flat against DB. Bearden is on top of their game now and playing well. I would say the Bearden line up is full of guys that can hit. However, with the game being played on Saturday, Jeff Co. should get back some pitching. With that said, Bearden is the favorite. Jeff County has done a remarkable job getting as far as they have gotten this year. JC will play hard and do their best to compete, but I just feel like it would be a fairly big upset for JC to defeat Bearden.
Good post! I like Farragut because of pitching and Bearden because they are hitting and playing with emotion for Coach Tate. Great matchups!

In the Notre Dame-Livingston Academy game, the score is tied 2-2 in the 8th. We have three umpires handling this game. One is stationed down the third base line about ten feet from the bag. Livingston Academy's batter hits a grounder down the left field line, and the third base umpire screams "foul ball" and waves his arms indicating the ball was foul. The home plate umpire points fair, but does not say anything. Notre Dame's left fielder, hearing "foul ball" does not play the ball. Livingston Academy runner takes second. Home plate umpire and third base umpire converse. Then they call over the first base umpire who had no angle whatsoever. They then say that the ball was fair and the runner remains at second. He, of course, scored the winning run on a balk. Thoughts?
If the field ump waived his arms...dead ball.

Could careless to be honest. Sometimes it's best just to tell the truth. Sorry if you can't handle the truth . It's a public chat board / forum for a reason. To state your opinions.
You are correct...you have the right to say any stupid thing you like. It is public and this is a free country.
