  1. Whatever the score Indians play with respect!

SM playing with chip on there shoulder.

    Good luck Indains!!

No chip on shoulder. Just good football talent and depth. You're just mad you have to play us. Signal Mountain is coming to town. Get over it.

When the village idiots start trying to pick a fight, we'll walk away.

Whether Tim plays or not, there's a whole lot of whoopin comin down on our valley friends between snap and whistle!

I just hope the SC coach and players have more sense than most of the SC posters on this message board and don't develop the "if we can't beat them, let's pick a fight" mentality. I don't think it will happen, but I could see us loading the buses and moving out early if those actually involved in the game acted as immaturely as the hatred spewers on this board.

    :(

  2. Tim McClendon will play, because LFO, the school he has lied about and trashed, has too much class to tell the truth to the TSSAA.

In addition to all the other whoppers that have been told by the kid, his mother, his "mentor" and his coach, is the one about him participating for only 2 days in spring practice.

Everyone at LFO (and their opponents) knows this isn't true. Spring practice lasts two weeks. He was perfectly healthy, and participated every day, all the way through the game. He told TSSAA he was only there 2 days, magically under the 3 day limit. Good rehearsals, Signal legal team! So I guess this healthy, full-time enrolled student showed up at practice the day before the game. I guess Coach Windham said, "Welcome Tim, good to see you. Sorry you missed the first 8 days, but go ahead, practice today, and you'll start tomorrow ahead of the guys who've been here for a week and a half." Yeah, I guess that's what happened.

But LFO, knowing that Signal's fans would probably retaliate by destroying their school's property in the middle of the night, is quiet. Despite being hammered in the media as a bad school that mistreated poor lil' Tim, LFO will silently refuse to respond to TSSAA, and the lyin' Signal football program will be intact on Friday night. All in the name of academics, honesty and good sportsmanship of course.

    Go Illeagles!

I wish you knew a third of what you spew out as truth. Wow. This is a masterpiece - of ignorance and hatred.

  3. The Signal Mountain at Sequatchie game next week should be a great event for both schools and all involved. The schools are geographically close, many of Sequatchie's students live on Signal Mountain, a lot of the players and fans know each other well and are friends. There should naturally be a good, healthy rivalry - much like SM enjoys with South Pittsburg. Everybody knows SM is outplaying SC this year and although this game may be, it shouldn't be close. I fully expect SC to try to work the clock and slow the game much like Grundy did. I expect a similar outcome but expect the first half to be pretty exciting.

As far as the McClendon kid, I hope he gets to play - not because SM needs him, but because he needs to play. SM needs him to play to have something to cheer for - a healing, if you will. And he needs that more than anything. He will not be an on-the-field difference-maker in this game. I will go on record as stating that he hasn't really been a difference-maker all year and that SM would have won all of those games without him. He scored a lot of touchdowns because the coaching staff called the plays that gave him the ball at the right times. I could have run most of those in. Proof is the CCS game. It was #2's night - 6 touchdowns.

If you think SM lost to Polk because #3 was sidelined, I think you're mistaken. I do not take anything away from a great Polk Team, Coaching, and Home Field Environment, but I do belive the TSSAA letter to the school Friday afternoon and the aftermath affected SM play that night. Polk beat SM fair and square. I just think they benefitted from SM's untimely misfortune and I mention it only for its relevance to the issue of #3 playing or not.

I look forward to seeing my friends in Dunlap Friday night and watching a great football game in a great environment. If anybody, SM or SC, is encouraging or expecting anything different, I hope you rethink the big picture and remember what high school football is really about.

I hope all of our local teams go far in the playoffs and represent our area well - and I hope SP brings home another gold ball!

  4. That is total USDA #1 bs.gifbecause you make it sound like Price is the scoring police or something when in reality the guy wouldn't know ethics if it was beat senseless with the book. Pricey had a reputation or should I say lack of one before going up there on the Mountain. Grider is a Pirate and always has been one. I don't always agree with him but I wouldn't take 10 of your coach for one of him.

    S.P.H.S. 64 Jasper 0

  5. Troll - Want to meet up there a little early to see if we need to touch up the paint on the lines from last week's game or make a Favorite Market run to restock the concession stand? I sure hope that scoreboard works tonight. We might want to knock the cob webs out of the press box and make sure we're ready for the 7:00 kick-off. Want to meet bout 6:15?

    Go Eagles, try hard! :roflol:

  6. I checked the 3A/4A forum...there's not even a thread for the South Pittsburg/Signal Mountain game. Kudos to Troll and Smealie for at least having the balls to join us on our thread. I guess the bulk of those Sissy Mountain people are too snooty to lower themselves to converse with us rednecks.

I think it's just the opposite. The big league posters ain't nearly as much fun as this group. After all of the back n forth with SPitt and Crickbank last year, the 3/4 threads are BORING. A lot of Signal posters have fallen asleep or fallen out.

  7. Now, you're talking! I've said that night was THE best sporting event I've ever attended period - and I've attentended some pretty cool stuff - (Cowboys/49ers from skybox; Daytona as VIP, Braves from behind the plate, etc.etc.) That night was special and it wasn't just the time the clock was ticking. Those boys acted like men that night and I'll never forget it.

OK, that emoticon was a little creapy/cheesy, but I do love to talk about the SP/SM game of 2010. Be sure to tell your folks to come early. It takes an extra 10 minutes (don't speed on Shackleford Ridge Road) to get to the school from the top of the mountain and we're expecting a big crowd. Parking may be tight, but you're welcomed to come early and set up a tailgate picnic in the lot. We'll see you there!

  8. Hey they have something good going up there so I cant knock them...In a few more years as long as they keep staying within the boundaries they will stand toe to toe with Baylor and McCallie on a regular basis...Glad to have the rivalry while we do although I think it ends in a couple more years...Hope this years game is as fun to watch as last years...Probably best high school game Ive ever witnesed

  9. I guess u just dont like the fact people know u guys recruit the Chatt area...Lol not hating just stating the obvious..I wish SP had that kinda financial backing and could do it also

That's just plain ridiculous. :flower: I'd tell the story of how that kid got there, but it's a personal matter that I have no business sharing. But I guarantee it was not recruiting or financial backing. You think I'm bowing up and being snotty and defensive, but I'm not.

It is more fun to ag it on than to defend . . . By the way, we're calling our scouts and recruiters back home Friday night so they can enjoy the game. :roflol::roflol::roflol:

  10. Signal may have lost a couple of guys but they went out and got a STUD RB from LFO and this years QB is better than last...All in all Signal is stronger across the board...Our best play is hurt, Dual threat RB/WR Johnson is out, our other WR and starting safety is hurt along with are backup runningback and starting LB...That really hurts our chances next Friday...Lets b honest here about last years game...SP played lights out and we gave them our best shot....Odds are we dont play that well again with our injuries...No excuse cause it would b VERY hard to win regardless but IMO we played to our full potential last year in that game and still lost even though we had our chances...Stinks but thats the truth...I hope Im wrong...They well still get our best shot

With all due respect, you should look at the numbers. The RB from LFO aint no T Mathers. Actually, you should double team him when he's in. Forget all the little guys and those two tall receivers who grew up on the mountain. Triple team the "stud RB from LFO". :roflol:

  11. 1. It's gonna be a great football game. 2. Our new announcer has class and you'll be pleased. 3. Waterboy aint ours, but we do claim The Troll. 4. Our flag runner has class too and won't get in the way - long. 5. Poop before you come. 6. Stephen Hargis will be there, but surely Jay Greeson won't let him write the article. 7. Troll has been manicuring the field in anticipation of the South Dixie Freeze Parrots' arrival. 8. It's gonna be a great football game, even if we have to go recruit some D1 transfers this week. 9. We ain't got no bathrooms, but unlike when Soddy came for the 7 on 7, we'll have the porta-jons serviced for you! 10. It's truly going to be a night of Championship football and I hope we can come close to the hospitality shown to us last year!

  12. ;)

..... You have to be able to make adjustments to fit your personel in high shcool. Your not able to recruit to bring in kids to run your scheme...well maybe at some schools........ ;)

Looking forward to the next few games.

You need help recruiting? Seriously, I hope you guys get it done and have a good rest of the season. :popcorneater:

  13. Grundy County is about to get beat by 63 points. After barely losing to Mathers and a bunch of no names Coach Price and the Eagles are going to make a statement. I guarantee Mathers is the only reason we lost that game aside from the fact that they have about 1000 more kids than us I mean come on any body with a brain know that. Anyways they were lucky to get away with what they did and this thread isn't about that it's about righting the ship and making a statement this week and it aint going to be pretty. Mercy rule start in the 2nd quarter. Just wait you'll see.

    Go away, waterboy!

  14. First things first: Pray for the Bledsoe County player's family and football family. His death really reminds us all that this is just a game and of the things that are really important.

Second: The Blackman player only suffered a concussion and will be OK.

The school and environment was great last night for Friday night football. The first half was a great game - both teams swapping points. The Eagles slowed Mathers down a bit and made him work, but he still made it look easy. He is indeed the best I've ever seen.

Blackman's coach was very complimentary of the Eagle team on the radio call-in show this morning and said he knew he was in a ballgame. He said the score is not indicative of the game he played. He's looking forward to coming to the Eagles' Nest next year, and we're looking forward to seeing them again.

We have one probable broken clavical, but are otherwise OK. The Eagles got their wings clipped in the fourth quarter, but they'll grow back by next week!

  15. Powerp dont start this mess again this year thinking we are untouchable. I garuntee you that any team on our schedule that Grider is playing can beat us. You said that mess last year and we lost two games. If this Fain boy runs a 4.3 fifty yard dash, I garuntee you that he will be able to chase down our Chubb boy. Grider better make one of those other pass catchers block him. I hope Grider listened to me and went and bought a kicking net for the game Friday so our kickers will be able to make their extra points. If Grider doesnt take our kicking seriously, it is going to cost us a game. You think im joking but im not.

Tadpole (Fain boy) is fast, but I don't think he's really putting up the yards for the Indians like he did last year. Wish I could go watch this one!
