Oh shoot. I did not know that. That would be interesting. How would the tiebreak work?
A 3 way duel is what I was told. Not sure how that works
-
3 way tie if Red Bank beats Signal. Whitwell knocked off Red Bank last weekend 40-30 I believe
-
Roy were you the one calling around ? Someone called and all we could make out was something about Murphys pole. Thought it was just one of those calls.
-
I've played or watched ball for 20 years. Never once seen officials that bad. It wasn't just the fouls. Walks, double dribbles, and multiple 5 second calls were ignored. Out of bounds was called the wrong way. 1-1 was denied to DeKalb after it was earned. The refs even argued on the floor over that call, but it was still denied. My understanding is that those refs weren't even supposed to be calling in that area. If you're beat on talent, you take it and go on, but being put out of a Regional game by refs is not right, and you know that. The talent difference between the two teams was obvious. Just calling it like it was!
The talent difference wasn't that obvious. The red head that got in foul trouble was a great player, but you have to realize that our center played half the 3rd and all the 4th with 4 fouls. From what I took from the coaches interview Dekalb is also very young so we will more than likely see each other again next year.
-
When you are too aggressive with your press and don't move your feet fouls will be called. In my opinion there could have been several more called on Dekalb. What are the times for the games Monday night ?
-
Sequatchie 60-57
-
I would go with ND, CCS, Macon, and Upperman.
-
my before spring practice order:
1. Dekalb- best single player in district in Jennings
2. Upperman- won 2 of last 3 titles, 2nd round or further each of last three years
3. Seq-return a good defense and a tough running game
4. York
4. Smith
5. Grundy
6. Cannon
Ill agree with you UCM. I do think the title will come down to the last week again this year. Sequ loses the RB but brings back the OLine. Defense should be better than last year. I could see Grundy making a run at 4th. Year 2 of the veer and bringing back pretty much all the starters
-
I actually see both 1-2 seeds winning and advancing, Sequatchie and Signal are as equal as you can be. Don't know if either can compete with Livingston or Upperman or not but can see them getting to Cookeville.
-
Don't sleep on CCS either, very disciplined team with probably one of the best freshman in the state. Very quick guards that like to run, reminds me of the Cannon team last year.
-
Notre Dame is the most athletic team by far. The Byrd kid leads the team agian and is a double-double machine. A lot of young pieces also. Sequatchie is a junior heavy team that has struggled to score but plays very good defense, just no height. Best player is a 6'3 guard that is also the 5th leading scorer in the Chatt area.
-
I meant that as a playoff spot, not winning the district
-
What does Smith have back next year ? Like was said Sequ brings back 8/11 on defense and 7/11 on offense. Dekalb needs to develop some sort of running attack to win the district IMO. Until Sequ shows me they can defend the spread I wont put them ahead of Dekalb or Upperman. Darkhorse will be Grundy, year 2 of the veer after playing York and Dekalb close this year.
-
Notre Dame names the score, Sequatchie ran into a buzz saw tonight
-
You beat CCS with a physical run game and Dekalb doesn't have that. I wish any public school luck against the privates, but I think CCS wins this 42-28
-
Is Tyner completely healthy ?
-
Bledsoe will give Forrest a very physical game. I will give Forrest the 35-24 win. They will be the only team in that region to win. Watertown struggled to beat Grundy. Tyner wins by 20.
-
Booger your right, this will feature 3 of the best LBs in the Chatt area. Enos is a tackling machine, Cates and Davenport are 2 of the hardest hitting you will find.
-
Marion will run 5-6 backs at you that can all run, add in the QB that has returned and the offense is almost unstoppable.
-
Booger must still be recovering still from last night, that Irish spirit and halloween candy is a bad mix.
-
Didn't Signal win 2A and Pitt won 1A in 2010.
-
With Walters back it will be easy for Marion the first 2 weeks. The speed of the Warriors is unreal and the defense is nasty. I think Bledsoe plays with Forrest also, the two 220 pound RBs are healthy again.
-
Boyd and Marion should have easy weeks, Tyner you have to remember dropped down from 3A this year. I see them winning by 2-3 scores as well, just to many athletes. Won't be surprised if Bledsoe gives Forrest more than they want from a 4 seed. They have 2 backs over 220 and are very physical.
-
ND will be the fastest team Sequ has played by far. Since the defense still cant defend a spread team I will take ND by 17.

He is still out, came in against Ashworth but never wrestled. Immediately took an injury TO and then said he couldn't continue. Coach only did it so Whitwell wouldn't get more points.
