East stopped HV very well and the freshman racked up 131 yards and 2tds in the first quarter. He could have score all night. But Coach Witten used 5 other backs. No this will be a skunking. EHS has something to prove.

we did play your freshman team it was a very close game hv has a freshman rb who is just as good as your freshman rb freshman lineman are way better than etowns freshman lineman hv should have won the game but as usual etown paid the refs off ref made a terrible spot on a 4th down call. i could see the fear in etowns coaches during that freshman game lol hv will only get better while etown will go downhill after this year it will be a two team conference hv and north

First time it wasnt Witten that dropped Greenville and everyone stop skirting around why they got dropped! They are GOOD! Greenville would do the same thing if the rolls were reversed. So its not that were scared, its smart when playing you gets us nothing but a lose and injuries. We pick up a smaller school or one not as good and its a win,win situation. And thats the whole truth!

witten calls the shots cak ashville and greenville were dropped because they are all losses no other reason money is no object to etown but when they cant beat them they drop them thats a fact the teams etown picked up witten feels will all b wins he is mad because he has to travel to little chuckey doak.news flash shawn u dont want to to travel to schools like cd and hv play where u belong instead of playing down u etown guys are a joke always have to cry and whine and moan when u lose.

hehe yeah. But EHS vs the County Schools has been going on forever. Its always been the same argument. EHS plays down, or EHS is afraid of Hampton/Cloudland, or EHS gets all the money(Which is partly true, they are better funded but that's because they don't have to split anything between Unaka, Hampton, Cloudland, Happy Valley)

 

I can honestly say that a lot of animosity is basically just us vs them, rich city folk vs county people, big bad city school hogging up the area. I'm going to be open about this but the rivalries down here, especially between EHS/HV usually get violent. It's always been that way and at the rate things are going its probably going to stay that way. If EHS gets turf prepare for world war 3 from HV people

you forgot about the money jason witten gives them,and ehs is not a big bad team they can not win against teams their size thats a fact 0-3 this yr 1-4 last year ehs coaches are paid triple as a county school more money better coaches more money better equipment to train with but with all ur money ehs still loses to greenville ashville and cak all the same size as ehs these are facts just like the fact that ehs does play down

Well Happy Valley the big #1 seed hasnt played anybody to prepare them for the playoffs so lets see how there cupcake schedule helps them when it counts! I dont know anything about South Greene but if they can stop the run they win!And can anyone tell me why HV only plays 9 games?

Not saying its not true, BUT, paying $10,000 to a high school for a game sounds odd and excessive. Are you gigging one of your opponents or are you serious? That money would certainly help with their field turf campaign. This just sounds a bit odd to me. Maybe cover the cost of transportation for someone to travel a distance, but $10,000, wow! CAK will come and play for FREE and I'm sure Greeneville will too! Please let any of the other schools in the area know that CAK is looking for a game and it really doesn't matter what classification. Dobyns Bennett schedule was aleady full but coach even went down that slippery slope, may be a good thing for us they were full, ha.

OH, we did have a bad night compared to the way we have been playin......I never said anything about beaten you worse........I know that Hampton didnt play their best either.......All Im trying to say is that we have been playin much better than we played last night.....This was a hard hitting game, it always is no matter what size........ As for #5 he is a great player he scores most of our tds he has alot of strength even last night he was dragging your players right along with him, He still has 2 more years with us. This is great for Hv....................

I see this game going much like Unicoi but worse.

 

63-0 EHS...HV beat them 55-0 @ Sullivan East so I'm sure EHS can do the same with homefield advantage

EHS is 5-4 with their only losses being to non conference powerhouses. Science Hill, Asheville, Greeneville, CAK. those 4 losses are to teams with a combined record of 29-8

ehs has played three schools their size and got destroyed each time its sad they have to lie about enrollment numbers to play down

Does anyone know if these two teams will sign a new contract to play for the next 2 years? I think this is a very good game and the players look forward to it.

coach witten does not want to play cak greenville or ashville none of these teams will be on the schedule next year,he has offered a county team 10,000 dollars to play ehs so lets see what happens

Coach Greene was a plus for HV and is missed very much. As far as coach Hyder he is exactly were he wanted to be all along, We arent interested in him............And Verran is much better in the classroom than on the football field.............Coach Shively holds the boys accountable for their actions unlike Verran ever did. Coach Shively is doing a wonderful job with the team. HV is very happy with the new coach....

at least we agree about coach greene maybe he can come back soon hv needs a man like him

Pretty sure Nanny is done from what ive heard probably MCL and ACL! Moore and Hubbard both have concussions so they could be out also! We have been bit by the injury bug! Nanny was the heart of our D. The kid knows how to play the game. Wish him the best!

only thing this shows is hv is the best county team still hv is not close to ehs in money and equipment.ehs spends more on band uniforms than hv hampton cloudland and unaka combined spend on football. play greenville again they are the same size...and good luck with that

Facts are correct. i stand behind my statement. one game suspension was still more than they would have recieved a year ago. One thing you are correct about. Both weren't starters last year, but they are this year and I think that is what matters.

facts are wrong two hv starters were removed from the team last year for breaking the law just like these kids did one of them is back and starting i just hope all these kids get their life on the right track.coach green is a great coach and man, he is missed by some at hv and hated by others for being loyal to coach verran.i have talked to coach green he wants to come back one day i just hope he does he is a great role model for all the kids at hv like i said he is missed by some and so is coach hyder

Speaking of playing, you must have not seen Jordy's JV boys play any. Its very obvious watching them that there playing up to his potential. They don't look like they have and clue whats going on out there on the field and are not giving any effort. Just like there leader. Keep up the great work "coach"

i never said they played bigger schools i just said ehs cant beat schools the same size as they are and no way hv and ehs are the same size its not close .ehs has five times the money five times better weight room five times better equipment than hv plus all the money from jason w. and now they are sponsored by nike.give me a break the schools are not equal in any way.now as far as ehs playing ashville well ehs lost again whose fault this time ???? just like raider dad says when you lose dont blame the refs or anything else.

coach verran and his staff led the warriors to the playoffs three years in a row won the conference his second year for the first time in 10 years something ogg never did after the first year he was there after that it was all down hill but the so called AD wanted a yes man as a coach now he has one.HV lost three good coaches what a terrible shame and disgrace HV has become where are the warriors when the school needs them all is left are science hill rejects,mean while coach hyder moves to EHS coach verran (former coach of ther year)and coach green are just left to wonder what happened

That would be something to see. I do think in the long run, he would have more opportunities come his way at a higher profile school like EHS than at HVHS.

Jaylon Simmons! Did any Warrior fan's see this kid coming. Only a sophomore, but he's got size and speed. I didn't see any mention of him in any of the preseason previews. Was he a hoss in middle school ball? Kudos to coach Shively for giving him a chance to show his stuff. Not all coach's are willing to give a 15 year-old a shot, especially at RB. Congrats to Simmons and keep up the good work.

Defensive End is Jeoffrey Pagan, he had one sack and two deflected pass's in last weeks win. I don't know what kind of road record the Asheville Cougars have had, but their home record is pretty impressive at 34-4-1 over the last seven seasons. From what I've read the team that beat them two weeks ago, pretty badly (48-6) I think. Seems a lot like the Cyclones at least on paper. Bearing this in mind IMO, I see Elizabethton 35 Asheville 6.

Last year EHS got cheated out of a win. This time they come to our field with our refs.

Only one North starter played Monday night #7 ( sophomore)the jv QB and he starts at corner on Varsity and he did not play any D Monday night. #1 that scored 2 tds on you did not dress Friday night #2 the full back is a soph who saw a few plays Friday but not many. #4 & #26 ( the other 2 that scored )played no offence Friday.The JV center you said was our starting center is a Freshman that did not step on the field Friday. Our starting soph De and Center did not dress out Monday. Just about all North players play a little on Friday nights. Thats the way it is done at North. I know some of you Betsy fans just can't handle getting beat by little old North but it looks like the tide my be turning a little, but no matter how it turns out NORTH will handle winning or losing with class Good Luck Betsy with the rest of your regular season and SEE YOU SOON

Just saying....Anyway I bolded that part because those other in-county school don't want to play EHS. Simple as that. Plus, what would Elizabethton have to gain by playing them? Absolutely nothing. Plus there is only 3 other in-county school that we don't play. You get better if you play better opponents and schools like Unaka, Cloudland, and Hampton sure dont seem like they would be as good as Asheville, Greeneville, Science Hill, CAK.
