  1. Standings After Week 8 1 Fairview (7-1 4-1) Lewis Co., Hickman Co. 2 Giles Co. (6-2,4-1) East Hickman, Marshall Co, 3 Marshall Co.(4-4,4-1) Page, Giles Co. 4 Page (4-4, 3-2) Marshall, Spring Hill 5 Lewis County (3-5,3-2) Fairview, East Hickman 6 Spring Hill (2-6, 1-4) Hickman Co. Page 7 East Hickman (1-7, 1-4) Hickman Co, Lewis Co, Giles Co 8 Hickman County (2-6, 0-5) East Hickman, Spring Hill, Fairview Well another week is in the books and it looks like my predictions are a little off. Review of Last Week's Games Surprise Game of the Week We have a tie here. East Hickman beating Hickman Co.- Wow, how bad is Hickman Co. if they lose to the previously winless East Hickman. If the hot seat wasn't on Coach Patterson before this game, it has to be now. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a coaching change next year. Page drops the ball at Fairview- What happened to the Patriots? Lockridge looked terrible. Fumbling the ball and not wanting to take on contact all night. The Yellow Jackets picked up a Big W. #80 from Fairview continued to solifdy his position of Region MVP with some remarkable catches and run. Giles beats Lewis Marshall beats Spring Hill Week 9 Games and Predictions Game of the Week- Page vs. Marshall Co.- We have the hottest team in the district (Marshall) facing off against the Jekyll and Hyde teams known as Page. After seeing Page play last week, I think they are primed for an upset against the Tigers of Marshall. Coach T down in Lewisburg has got things going in the right direction. If Marshall wins this week, it sets up a big match up week 10 against Giles. Prediction- Marshall 21 Page 14 Giles vs. East Hickman- Giles wins big in this one. The Bobcats control their own destiny for the district crown. Prediction- Giles Co. 42 East Hickman 0 Spring Hill vs. Hickman Co.- Coach Patterson suffered a devastating loss, he may need a win against Spring Hill or Fairview to salvage his job. Spring Hill 28 Hickman Co. 14 Fairview vs. Lewis Co.- The much improved Jackets take on their old rivals. Lewis is always tough at home. Lewis will need to slow down the passing attack of Fairview if they want to win. Prediction- Fairview 21 Lewis Co. 7
  2. I have seen him play. The reason I give it to the Fairview kid is because he plays on both sides of the ball and special teams. Lockridge plays offense and returns kicks for Page. I will say if he has a big game against Fairview then I may change my mind. Page has two other RBs that are just as good, while no one on Fairview can compare to 80. 12 from Giles has had big shoes to fill and I agree he benefits from alot of weapons around him. But he is the engineer of the offense and makes it go. He makes sophomore mistakes but over the next two years he will be a stud. What impressed me the other night at Fairview was how undersized on defense they were, but they all pursued to the football. I saw the same thing from Giles Co. as well, I just felt like Giles had better athletes and more size. Page's defense flies to the ball as well, so we may see another low scoring game at Fairview. I hope the board livens up down the stretch we have some big games coming up and would love to hear others thoughts on the game.
  3. Current Standings After Week 7. 1. Fairview (6-1 3-1)Page, Lewis Co., Hickman Co. 2 Giles Co. (5-2,3-1) East Hickman, Marshall Co, Lewis Co. 3 Page (4-3, 3-1)Fairview, Marshall, Spring Hill 4 Marshall Co.(3-4,3-1)Spring Hill, Page, Giles Co. 5 Lewis County (3-4,3-1) Giles Co., Fairview, East Hickman 6 Spring Hill (2-5, 1-3) Marshall Co, Hickman Co., Page 7 Hickman County (2-5, 0-4) East Hickman, Spring Hill, Fairview 8 East Hickman (0-7, 0-4) Hickman Co, Lewis Co, Giles Co Last Week's Games Giles Co. wins over Fairview- I attended this game and I am glad I did. Giles won 20-14 in a tough hard fought game. I believe the Yellow Jackets proved they could play on the same field as Giles County, something they did not do last year. I saw where some Giles fans said it should of been worse, I differ on that opinion as Fairview's qb showed his age with 5 interceptions last night. Both teams had their chances, but the defenses for both teams were tough. Giles now becomes Fairview's biggest fan as if the Jackets beat Page, Giles has a great chance to repeat as district champions. Page beats Hickman Co.- Patriots continue to roll on their way to what I predict is a district championship. They travel to Fairview next week for their last tough test of the season. Hickman Co. just doesn't have the horses to compete in this district. Marshall wins only by 14 against East? Will someone at this game please tell me what happened. Marshall only beats what is possibly the worst team in 3A by 14 points. This is surprising to me. Maybe the Tigers are not as tough as I previously thought. Next Week's Games Game of the Week-Fairview vs. Page- Looks like I am heading back to Williamson County to see this match-up of county rivals. The Jackets played Giles Co tough, if they can value the football and establish a run game against Page they may pull the upset. But it is easier said than done against the best defense in the district. Page wins by 14. Hickman Co. vs. East Hickman- This intercounty rival could get interesting if East Hickman carries their success in the passing game against Marshall into this contest. I still think the power running game of the Bulldogs will take over late in the game. Hickman Co. wins by 14. Giles Co. vs. Lewis Co.- The speed of Giles County will take this one over quickly. Bobcats win by 28. Marshall vs. Spring Hill- The winner of this game has an outside shot as a wild card in the playoffs. This one is tough to call. Last week I would have taken Marshall, but they struggles against East Hickman for that reason I take the Raiders by 7. Current Awards (Would Love to hear others opinons) Coach of the Year- Herzog from Page- Overcoming early season injuries, the Patriots are the best team in the district Most Valuable Player- #80 from Fairview- This kid is tough to stop. Is being double and sometimes triple team and is still making plays. Without him the Fairview offense would be in trouble. Offensive Player of the Year- # 12 from Giles- He has taken over Giles Co. offense and is putting up big numbers each week and he is only a sophomore. Defensive Player of the Year- # 79 from Marshall- This kid has a MOTOR. I have seen him give BGA trouble and every team in the district. It is my understanding he is a junior.
  4. I have seen both teams play twice this season. I think Fairview doesn't have the speed nor a physical line to compete with the Bobcats. Page and Giles Co. are 3 TDs better than anyone in the district. Now don't get me wrong Fairview has a solid 3A team, they just don't have what it takes to beat the Bobcats or Patriots. Giles Co. wins 42-21. Look for Al Cobb to have a big game on offense as last year the Jackets secondary gave up 300 yards and 5 TDs to Bo Wallace in the 1ST HALF!!! I don't think a year can fix the problems the Fairview secondary will have Friday night. I have been impressed with two Fairview players this season. Hunter Branch and Julian Franklin. Branch is the best WR in the district, however on Friday the Giles Co. front 7 will manhandle the offensive line of Fairview. Franklin has some wheels and could be the only hope for Fairview. I will be in attendance hoping to see a good game, but I think it gets out of hand in the 2nd quarter.
  5. Are there no fans of this district around? I really would like to see others opinions.
  6. I attended this game Friday night and was impressed with Marshall Co. Having seen some scores from earlier in the year, I thought Lewis Co. would walk away with the win. The difference in the game was Marshall Co.'s ability to throw the ball and Lewis Co.'s terrible secondary. The Panthers will continue to struggle if they their pass offense and defense do not improve. The Tigers will be a tough team the next couple of seasons, I was impressed with the effort they gave on both sides of the ball. The one thing that concerns me is the penalties. They have to be more disciplined. #79 on the Tigers defense was a standout player last night and the QB # 1 was excellent as well.
  7. Current Standings through Week 6 Team Overall Record, District Record, Remaining Games 1. Fairview (6-0, 3-0) Giles Co., Page, Lewis Co., Hickman Co. 2. Lewis County (3-4,3-1) Giles Co., Fairview, East Hickman 3. Giles Co. (4-2, 2-1) Fairview, East Hickman, Marshall Co, Lewis Co. 4. Page (3-3, 2-1) Hickman Co., Fairview, Marshall, Spring Hill 5. Marshall Co. (2-4, 2-1) East Hickman, Spring Hill, Page, Giles Co. 6. Spring Hill (2-5, 1-3) Marshall Co, Hickman Co., Page 7. Hickman County (2-4, 0-3) Page, East Hickman, Spring Hill, Fairview 8. East Hickman (0-6, 0-3) Marshall Co, Hickman Co, Lewis Co, Giles Co Alright, I have been following this district the entire seeing. I have got to see every team in person and figure I can give some insight to what is going to happen the last coupld of weeks to the season. Surprise Team of the 1st Half- Fairview- The Jackets have reeled off 6 wins to start the season. They are scoring 41 points a game and only giving up 8. The only thing that concerns me is their weak schedule. I see them finishing 8-2. Disappointing Team of the 1st Half- Spring Hill- The Raiders turned a corner last season and no one could of predicted such a steep drop off coming into the 2010 season. I see them finishing 3-7. This week's Games Game of the Week Giles Co. vs. Fairview- The Bobcats travel to Fairview to take on the hottest team in the district. This is the week the Jackets are brought back down to reality. I forsee a blowout for the Bobcats. They are far more physical than the Jackets. Prediction- 42-21 Giles Co. Giles will win out and finish 2nd in the district behind Page. The Jackets will clinch a wild card berth at 8-2. Page vs. Hickman Co- The Patriots look to continue their push to the district title. This will be a warm up game for the next two weeks. As long as their RB duo stay healthy, they will win this district. The Patriots will finish the season 7-3 and the district 12aa champions due to their upset of Giles Co. Hickman Co. will finish 3-7 on the season. Marshall vs. East Hickman- The promising Tigers will continue to roll as they continue to make a push for a playoff berth. There push will come up short finishing 4-6 on the season. East is pathetic and will not win a game all season. Can't believe I wasted money going to Lyles and watching them play. Lewis Co and Spring Hill are off this week. I forsee the Panthers finishing 4-6 on the season and missing the playoffs for the 1st time in a long time. Alot of off the field issues have hurt Lewis this season. Spring Hill will finish 3-7. Anyone else have any thoughts on the district? MVP? Offensive Player of the Year?? Defensive Player of the Year?? Coach of the Year??
