  1. We have 72 hours...

Anybody want to start dropping some predictions, etc regarding upcoming first round games?...I'll start...

    Okay, I will bite...

Elizabethton v CCS I am going to go out on a limb and say that CCS is the weakest of the privates in the draw. However, that should be good enough to git er done against E-ton.

CPA v Sacred Heart ...CPA is improved from last years squad that fell a little short against CAK. They are a tough out. No quit in em. I think SH will learn they aren't playing in west Tennessee anymore.

White House v Notre Dame. ...I agree with Champ, this will be THE game to watch Wednesday (if you are from White House or are Catholic at least). You never can tell much by score comparisons. I can make a legit case either way by breaking down who played whom twice removed. I am sure that ND will be favored by almost all. What I am also sure of is that WH will not go away easily. They will fight, scratch, kick, and claw until the final horn blows. White House may not be loaded with D1 prospects, but there are NO glaring weaknesses either. Yep, this should be a good one...

Liberty v CAK ... CAK easily... Worse than that is they should well rested for the winner of the ND/WH street fight.

  2. The best A/AA public school in the state for 3 years running finally gets their shot. I believe we just put a beat down on the only other team that could make that claim tonight.

Personally, we will play whoever the TSSAA gods put in front of us...

This is how I rank it right now:

    1. Notre Dame (seems to be playing their best right now)

2a. CAK (close scores in normally blowout games seem to indicate uncharacteristic vulnerability)

2b. CPA (always well coached and prepared)

    4. White House (newcomers with a chip on their shoulder and only public with talent to un seat the private chokehold on A/AA.)

    5. CCS

    6. Elizabethton

    7. Sacred Heart (tempting matchup w/ White House.... aka Sacred Heart of Jesus VERSUS the Devils)

    8. Liberty (somebody has to be #8)

    Thoughts??

  3. DCurtis would have to fill in the blanks...

    West

    MVP: Alex Gibbs (Harpeth)

Offensive MVP: Cierra Adams (Montgomery Central)

Defensive MVP: Mikayla Flake (Montgomery Central)

Best Goalkeeper: Shelby Chapman (Clarksville Academy)

Coach: Mary Beth Burchett (Clarksville Academy)

    East

MVP: Brooke Thompson WHHS Sr. Midfielder

Offensive MVP: Kendall Morrison WHHS Sr. Forward

    Defensive MVP: ??? (Merrol Hyde)

    Best Goalkeeper: ??? (Macon County)

    Coach: Jason Bentley (Merrol Hyde)

    Edited for what I know...

  5. Thanks for the feedback MCHS. I do appreciate the candor. I do realize the dilemma and the overall talent discrepancy for the past 4 years.

For the record in 4 years I think the west has pretty much nailed it. It does not seem to be an issue on that side.

And I really do want to stress that this was not about the keeper, but if its not the keeper it's a defender. That was my point.

  6. WH 5

WH hosts Hume Fogg Tuesday.and CA travels to CPA..

Can I just say something right here? Well I am anyway...

I think it is a crying shame that the voters for district awards (I assume coaches) use that platform to try to get a measure of revenge on a successful program.

Let's set the table here for a second. In district play over the last 4 years WH is 35-1-1 in district 10 A/AA matches with a combined score of 213 to 15. They have won 25 consecutive district matches and have allowed 2 goals in 2 years and none this year. I do understand that WH cannot win every district award, but seriously, no defensive player of the year, and only 1 GK of the year in four years.... Come on man....

It is a travesty to take out your frustrations on teenage girls. I hope you can sleep well at night.

Please understand, I am taking nothing away from the girls who won awards tonight. I am sure they have put a lot of effort into getting where they are and I commend them for it.

Okay I am done let me have it if you think I am wrong.

  7. White House 8

    Sycamore 0

Last home game for WH?? Hopefully not!

Everything seems to be coming together at the right time for the Lady Devils. Everybody is back and 100% healthy finally and the fire appears to have returned for the first time since the JPII game.

  9. G,

I was speaking of an incident from last year where a keeper was given a straight red after a 50/50 1v1 challenge. We had film of the play. Since the referee stated in his match report that it was "his opinion" that unnecessary force was exerted, TSSAA would not review the call.

Anyway....water under the bridge now...I was just sayin...
